I almost always pack brown rice. It doesn't mold quite as well as white rice, and if you're attached to molds you could probably experiment with mixing brown and white rice for more nutrition and better sticking. Or I think I saw brown sticky rice at the Asian grocery the other day: a little of that in rice that's going into molds might solve my sticking problems. I think Maki talks a little about white rice vs. brown rice on Just Bento.
Other than that, I usually flip the rice and veggies in the 4-3-2-1. That much rice and I won't finish my lunch. (Not that not finishing your lunch is bad except when you feel bad for wasting food.)

Hi, I realize this group isn't very busy at this point but I hope someone can answer my question about Bentos. I have read a lot on Justbentos.com and about the ideal ratio being 4 rice, 3 veggies, 2 protein, and 1 fat/other/etc. Do other Sparkers really eat that much white rice? I realize the other types of rice probably won't form into the molds that some of you are using.
Since I am trying to lose weight I am trying to avoid white rice, white bread, etc. I am not even eating that much in the way of even whole grain carbs. But presuming I get to maintenace sometime soon, I'd be interested in taking brown rice sometimes.
I have been doing "Bento-like" lunches with Tupperware but I finally broke down and ordered the Laptop Lunches set, which should be here soon.
