Thank you much for the recommendation!

I'm going to try to chase this book down today. It's my turn to cook for the next three days and wanted to some more Japanese food besides katsu and udon.

Thank you again!!

SOHOJOSE -
I have a big appetite, so I like all four of the bentos in the "Dreamy Steak" category. The only one I haven't tried yet is the pork one.

I also like the Boiled Salmon Rice bento, which was a great way for me to use up leftover wild salmon.

The chapter on Side Dishes are quick and easy, just right to fill the gaps in your bento box, or just add more veggies to a meal. I make the various bell pepper dishes alot. The potato recipes are great, too!

For fast meatballs, I take Trader Joe's frozen turkey meatballs, thawed in the microwave, and then mix it with Kentaro's sauce recipe from Beef + Veggie Burger Bento: 1 Tbsp ketchup, 1 Tbsp Worchestershire sauce, 1 tsp soy sauce. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to make the burgers from scratch, but the sauce made it so yummy with rice!

Thanks for tip! That looks very interesting, I have to check if I can get it here in Finland or order it from internet...

Thank you so much for mentioning the book. I must get it now. It sounds like it's right up my alley.

Is there a particular recipe that you've made from this book that you and your family really like?

I've just started experimenting with bento, and came across this book at my local Borders Books. It's a great resource, and I refer to it for making lunch/dinner for my whole family, not just packing bento. I also find the recipes inspire me to come up with my own concoctions.
