Yesterday I made a bento with rice (topped with toasted sesame seeds--I always do that), my own chicken teriyaki, and sauteed zucchini. I also had a large peach, in a separate container; peaches are messy!
Anyway, I took it with me to a baseball game, ate my bento (with my Maneki-Neko chopsticks, yet) and DID NOT get any of the expensive and diet-wrecking ballpark junk food. I did bring along some honey roasted peanuts--gotta have peanuts at a ball game, right?-- but I measured out how much I wanted to eat and put the bag AWAY to avoid uncontrolled noshing. Happy Dance!

Okay, actually, I got an email saying that the meeting I needed to be onsite for is canceled because my co-worker is sick, so I'm working from home. But I'd already set up everything for noriben for myself, so offered it to him. I expected him to say no, really, but he said sure. So he's all set with noriben, hijiki salad, and sweet-soy beans. We'll see how he likes it! (I haven't actually made a noriben for myself yet, so it really is an experiment.)
Read and read and read this Book of Five Rings, and step and step and step on this dojo floor.
I got a camera for Christmas so I'll have more and more pictures of my bento's. I had to take the pictures with my phone before so I typically didn't bother. I have made a recent bento and I made one this morning. My favorite thing right now is a shredded chicken breast. It's filling and low fat/caloric content and if you shred it in to pieces it can actually be used as filler.
There haven't been any new posts in a while, so I might as well write. I finally got my (first and only) bento picture off my digital camera. I will post it on my sparkpage photo album if I can figure out how to do so.
Have any of you created new bento's lately? I'm going to make my 2nd in the next week or two. I went shopping at one of our local oriental markets, and they had these cool (non-ramen brand) ramen noodles in re-usable containers. I just purchased some star-shaped aluminum pans from the dollar store to sit in the middle. It should work :)
