That sounds delicious! I went to a ballgame recently and while I didn't indulge in any ball park food, I didn't bring anything either. It sounds like your approach was a lot more fun.

Yesterday I made a bento with rice (topped with toasted sesame seeds--I always do that), my own chicken teriyaki, and sauteed zucchini. I also had a large peach, in a separate container; peaches are messy!

Anyway, I took it with me to a baseball game, ate my bento (with my Maneki-Neko chopsticks, yet) and DID NOT get any of the expensive and diet-wrecking ballpark junk food. I did bring along some honey roasted peanuts--gotta have peanuts at a ball game, right?-- but I measured out how much I wanted to eat and put the bag AWAY to avoid uncontrolled noshing. Happy Dance!

Well, he ate every bit of it. I didn't think to ask last night. On the other hand, I made myself a similar one for today and it was really good.

Sometimes it's better to experiment on other people. Let us know how he likes it!

My husband stole tomorrow's bento.

Okay, actually, I got an email saying that the meeting I needed to be onsite for is canceled because my co-worker is sick, so I'm working from home. But I'd already set up everything for noriben for myself, so offered it to him. I expected him to say no, really, but he said sure. So he's all set with noriben, hijiki salad, and sweet-soy beans. We'll see how he likes it! (I haven't actually made a noriben for myself yet, so it really is an experiment.)

Today's bento is my profile pic of the day. I think I'll make that a tradition. Since I make my bentos for the next day when I make dinner I can anticipate it all morning!

I got a camera for Christmas so I'll have more and more pictures of my bento's. I had to take the pictures with my phone before so I typically didn't bother. I have made a recent bento and I made one this morning. My favorite thing right now is a shredded chicken breast. It's filling and low fat/caloric content and if you shred it in to pieces it can actually be used as filler. emoticon

I never take pictures of mine, but the last one I made (which was over a week ago since I've been on vacation for a while) was a Thai salad/slaw on the bottom and some grilled chicken on top.

There haven't been any new posts in a while, so I might as well write.
I finally got my (first and only) bento picture off my digital camera. I will post it on my sparkpage photo album if I can figure out how to do so.

Have any of you created new bento's lately? I'm going to make my 2nd in the next week or two. I went shopping at one of our local oriental markets, and they had these cool (non-ramen brand) ramen noodles in re-usable containers. I just purchased some star-shaped aluminum pans from the dollar store to sit in the middle. It should work :)
