Exactly, along with dips, chips, and crackers (though they don't have out samples of the beer and wine except for special occasions, luckily). Mostly I try to allow only the fruit samples and avoid all else, but those are the rare instances, it's just too tempting!
I hope you're able to get back, but I do know convenience with food is always a major issue. For me the convenience of single-portioned low-sodium satisfying meals outweighs the inconvenience of the drive there.
I recently visited Fit2Eat on Speedway and I'm hoping other Madtown Sparkers are hip to this quaint little eatery. The menu changes each week, focusing on healthy, low fat, low sodium like your mom would have made if she were a professional caterer. The portion sizes are sensible; I can order a full meal of main dish, side, and dessert and eat it without feeling regret or worry that I've over-consumed. I also don't have to stress over a sodium bounce on the scale the next day because they don't load their food with salt.
The new menu each week is updated on the site and on Twitter (which is not a good format for such, FB would be better, but what can you do).
Check it out, I'm psyched to have a trustworthy healthy restaurant option in the area where I can grab a satisfying, single portion meal just like I would make at home any time I need it.
