Hey there, sorry I haven't been around. LIfe is good, busy and I'm 2lbs away from my goal! I'm going to have to pass on the walking shoe planning torch to someone else. I'm just not getting on here enough to be able to plan. I also try and plan fun weekends for my hubby. His job is so super stressful right now and I like to have some fun getaways to get his mind off of computers, emails and projects. I'm sure there will be times when I can't whisk him away and I'll be able to join you guys or even drag him along.

Hugs to you all!

Cool of the theater to allow that. Haven't been over there in a while, partly due to the fact I live in walking distance to the AMC theater in Fitchburg...not that I've actually done that yet. I think I just added another item to the list of things I need to do this summer. Although, I think that might be one more for spring weather, can't imagine sitting for a couple of hours all sweaty after that walk would be too pleasant, for me, or the others in the theater :)

Good Morning:

With that rain and thunder all night so I got precious little sleep. Today we might have golf ball sized hail. We didn't want our car to get hail damage so I called the local movie theater (Point West) and asked if I could pay to park in their covered parking. The manager said that they could assume no liability, but I was welcome to use their facility. When I asked how much it would be he said, " Don't worry about it. Just buy something at the concessions next time you come to the movies." I thought that was just outstanding. Don't you agree?

I would never have thought I would enjoy classes either, believe me! I was the largest, most awkward child, always picked last for every team. When I started running I would go in the dark so no one would see me. But I love to dance. Not saying I'm good - just love it. That somehow gets me past my discomfort. Of course, now I'm not only awkward and large, I'm usually the oldest too Oh well. I have fun.

I'm the same way, Gail, loathe to step into a class lest I go the wrong way on a step and inadvertently knock out the people around me.

Going to see friends play a concert Saturday night, as part of a cancer benefit event. There were tentative plans for a Harry Potter weekend, trying to watch all 8 of the movies in the space of two days, but they don't seem to have materialized. It'll happen one of these weekends.

I tip my hat to all of you who will venture in a class. I feel like a hippo going in the wrong direction every time I try any kind of aerobics class. The equipment is best for me: elliptical, treadmill, recumbent bike, etc. Even walking and swimming is better. I still have my membership on hold and can't get away to resume it so it stays on hold.

Hey Joline,
I've been going to zumba pretty regularly at the Chakra House, on Lakeside St. I had a groupon for it, thanks to a post by someone on this team, and I like it so well that I keep going. I know many gyms and the Y offer it, and so does Madison School Community Rec. I took a class through them at Hoyt School last fall and it was fun. Some people worry about their knees, but I haven't had problems, and I am NOT young!

I'm going to zumba at 5am tomorrow. Yep, you read that right. Otherwise, mostly getting ready to go to my niece's wedding. The wedding is next Saturday but I kind of wanted to go down early to just be there and maybe help my sis. My brother and his wife are going early since he is doing some music, so they said if I could get to Kenosha, I'm welcome to ride with them. On March 5 I bought a Greyhound ticket to Ktown - but it has never come. I have emailed, called and wow, if I did my state job the way Greyhound operates I'd be unemployed very quickly. The best they could come up with is for me to print my email receipt and the driver SHOULD let me on the bus. That word should makes me very nervous. My DH and son and girlfriend are coming down later in the week, so i can always wait and go with them. Or DH could drive me to Kenosha, but that's a lot of driving in one day. Sorry to go on so long!

Good Morning:

Well, Vic finished our federal taxes yesterday and we will be getting a windfall. The state taxes aren't too bad because, for the most part, it's just a matter of copying certain lines off the federal forms. Glad when I put that all in the mail.

Anyone have anything special going on this weekend?

I thought it was odd too. Just use for sheets and towels, which use the most energy. Have a time and no underwear. But no.

I try to get to the farmers market early too because they tend to run out of things. Especially the fresh eggs.

Khatlady, that is a shame about the clothesline! I use mine as much as I can, and so does my neighbor. Gail, I am guessing that late in the day deals may still be available at the farmers market, but I honestly don't know. We always go pretty early.

Good Morning:

As I think I mentioned, I'm not going to have a vegetable garden for the first time in decades; it's just too much for me to handle. Many years ago I used to go to the farmers' market on the square. One time I didn't get there till 1 PM and I was afraid there would be nothing left. What I found was that the farmers were selling their produce at reduced prices. Does that still happen? What about the markets at Hilldale and DOT?

Gail

Our condo has a lot of land and some is in the back where you can not see it. I mentioned at one meeting about putting up cloths lines for sheets and towels to dry. You'd think I was talking about burning the place down they way they reacted.

I just love the smell and texture.

I like their stuff. I get daily notes from Dr. Weil too, and he is helpful. I'm bracing myself for hanging out wash. I think it's 30-something out there...but with a good breeze it will dry and smell heavenly. Biking home from work yesterday was not fun, since it was straight into the wind. A few gusts made me think I might end up in Wingra Creek!

Got an email from REAL AGE yesterday that listed 5 great high protein snacks that help you lose weight and melt fat:

A cup of plain, fat-free, no-sugar-added Greek yogurt sprinkled with walnuts.
A few slices of broiled or baked chicken breast (without the skin).
A glass of skim milk and a hard-boiled egg.
Hummus smeared on red pepper strips.
Peanut butter stuffed into celery.

Also, you can drop 50% more body fat with whole grains.

2.

Enjoy each day.

Yeah, sun helps. The weather seems to be against drying my clothes this week. Today I'm home. Yesterday when the sun shone and the breeze blew I was at work. Sigh. I'll be ok!

Good Morning:

I got on the scale this morning and am down a couple of pounds. The water and veggies help a lot. I'm better at consuming more portions of fruits and vegetables if they are prepared. Last night I cut up oranges and a pineapple. Many days I have up to 6 or 7 portions. Come to think of it, many days I'm all vegetarian, and it's not particularly by design.

Hope you are all doing well and enjoying the weather.

Gail

Reallady: Great job. I tip my hat to you.

Jeanette and Janey: I'm fine with this weather or warmer. Come to think of it I'm fine with any temperature as long as it's sunny.

Enjoy each day.

Add my congrats to Reallady! That's fantastic.
I spent much of the weekend sorting through clothes and now have a big pile for St Vinnie's. Yay! I should probably have gotten rid of more...

Finally got to the taxes today. I think I've got all of my preps; the rest is up to Vic.

Speaking of Vic, he has pneumonia and was in the hospital for two days. Last night he was coughing a lot and I got no sleep. I really was hungry and wanted to get some comfort food from 2-4 am. But I stayed in bed. Quite an achievement especially with all the stress I've been under.

Enjoy each day.

Pretty Much Gail. I've been actually laying low. I hurt my back earlier this week at the gym but am finally feeling much better. I went back to the gym today and took two classes without issue. I am sure not enjoying this cooler weather of late...looks like only 60s again for next week...I want to go back to Florida where it was high 80s and sunny every day!

Did anyone get pranked today since it's April Fools day?
