Glad these are helpful to so many of you. Here we go for the rest of the week,Tues through Sunday. Nov. 20 to the 25th.

20. No elastic waists this week! Don't allow yourself the comfort of overeating.
21. You can make anything happen if you commit to it and take action. Commit to good choices this holiday weekend.
22.HAPPY THANKSGIVING. Enjoy the company of family and friends. They are more important than food.
23. Going to the mall today? Look for parking spots that are the farthest away from the entrance.
24. Persevere! Avoid temptations that can lead to disappointment.
25. Forgive yourself if the weekend didn't go as well as you had hoped. Today is a new day. Begin anew.

I'm really trying to focus on that last one, instead of just grabbing "one" candy out of the dish every time I pass it in the office, I'm just leaving them there. I noticed the dish seems to empty on it's own w/out my help!

Here are days 12 through 15 to think about.

12. Never just stand and wait. Do deep knee bends while the microwave is cooking.
13. Are you familiar with the Core Foods? They make good choices no matter what food plan you are following.
14. Try eating more slowly today. Wait for your body to register that satisfied feeling.
15. It's the 15th! Do 15 minutes more activity than you had planned to do today.

I made soup for lunch today. It's quick and easy when you start with a FF broth and just add veggies and spices! Very satisfying, too! emoticon

Tip number 2 is a good one to keep in mind, I agree w/ the other posters, I am influenced positively or negatively by others orders. Lately I have been trying to decide what I want and stick to that, even if my bf is ordering french fries (I have a weakeness for deep fried salty food!)

Soup is a great thing in the winter, isn't it? I was making a lot of soup a few years ago, it is really easy and you get much less sodium than if you eat out of a can. And that SP article about soup in the last newsletter said people eat 20% fewer calories if they start their meal w/ soup, bonus!

My husband and I have been all about the #8 recently. I got my hands on a Betty Crocker Soup cookbook and there's a HUGE amount of calorie-wise soups and stews in there. We've been having fun making them and using our slow cooker. I think we're going to try one of the chili recipes this weekend.

it's funny isn't it how people tend to order in trend. If one person gives into eating something really "naughty" then it's a good excuse to join in or if you eat with a group of girls who eat salads you feel like you should be eating a salad too!

Number 2 is SO true for me. I can be horribly indecisive, so I generally base my ordering upon someone else's decision. I HAVE gotten more so that I order the healthier foods and just base whether it's a meal or a sandwich upon what the other person orders.

At my meeting there was a calender there with daily goals and suggestions printed on paper for November. I will list them here for your information. Since today is Nov. 8th, I'll list the first 8 tips.

1.What needs to happen for you to be successful this month? Write down your goal and commit to it.
2.Going out to eat today? Be the first in your group to order. Don't let others influence you to make poor choices.
3.Don't be a spectator today. Take part in an activity.
4.A good goal for November is to "lighten up"--your cooking, your portion sizes, and your weight.
5.Drink more water to really enjoy the refreshing taste.
6. Pick up the pace of your activity. Push yourself to do more, do it longer, do it more intensely. JUST DI IT!
7. Starting small is infinitely better than never starting at all. Take a small step toward your goal that you are willing to repeat.
8.Promise yourself to try a new, healthy recipe this week. Don't let yourself be bored.
