I agree with CFOSTER - in the end, all we're looking for is trends. So long as you weigh at a consistent time of the day, then it doesn't matter. I even tease my friend that the pull of gravity must be different in his new apartment, because he lost some weight without doing anything, after he moved. There are lots of things during the day that affect weight and so long as you pick one time a day and do it, that's probably all that matters.
I weigh in the morning as well after urination, BM and bath. I found this to give me a more consistent weight.
On a side note, has anyone else noticed a significant weight loss after bathing. Sometimes, just for grins, I weigh myself before and after my bath. Typically, I am down about a pound. I take hot baths and I figure I sweat that much. But this morning it was 3.5 pounds less. Hard to believe isn’t it. I know my scales have issues and so I weigh myself several times to get a single value. I did this today as well both before and after my bath. Thoughts?
Grace and Peace,
Just be consistent with time and conditions and it really won't matter. You just need to see the general trend as our bodies flucutate by POUNDS throughout the corse of any single day.
I think in the morning is a better measure because it does not include as much partially digested food and things like that.
Be as you wish to seem.
Being consistent is the key if you're looking for a trend. An "accurate" weight is a subjective word due to the fluctuations mentioned in earlier posts.
I weigh in the morning, but have to admit that I step on the scales fully clothed (including shoes) every now and then during the daytime to compare to the weight shown at my doctor's office.

Hi, I weigh myself first thing in the morning. It's just becpome a habit/routine over the past 7 months.

I weigh in every morning. I couldn't think of a good way to put it, so here's some reasons I found online:
-Weighing yourself first thing in the morning is usually best. Because of variations in food and fluid consumption, we often “gain” different amounts of weight throughout the day.
-Weight can fluctuate throughout the day due to many factors, such as food consumption and water retention.
I also agree that the most important thing is to weigh under the same conditions every time.
When I weigh at night I always regret it. I think you just need to be consistent, but you will weigh more after eating for the day.
I weigh myself first thing in the morning, before I get dressed. It would seem to me that however you choose to weigh yourself, doing it under the same circumstances would be best for comparison of weights from day to day.

Hi! I always weigh myself in the morning, because the numbers are lower LOL! But I'm wondering if that's the right way. Technically, I would guess it's more accurate, because you haven't eaten anything. But is that what makes it more accurate or less accurate? If I'm going to take a measurement of how much I weigh, should it be after I've actually been up and about, eating and drinking all day? Would that give me a "truer" if not more "accurate" number? Or does it matter, as long as I take it at the same time every day?
Or should I weigh in the morning, at night, and take the difference between the two?
