That may be the way to go, pick the top or your acceptable range (probably determined by how your clothes fit, how you feel at that weight, and how easy it is to maintain that weight) and then figure from there what your range will be. I have adjusted my range up a little, but I'm not sure that's what I'll end up with. I had a range of 128-132, but I'm thinking 130-135 is more maintainable. I'd really like to be around 130-132 so I may readjust if 135 seems too high. Maybe 133 would be a better top of the range. It's just a matter of figuring out the right equation for ourselves. I'm working on lowering bodyfat % as well.

I'm actually still working on figuring out my range, as I only JUST hit my goal weight. I probably should make the range 129-133, but there's a little voice in my head wondering if I could make it 126-130. The lowest I've seen is 129.0, so I'd actually have to continue to lose a bit more to make the lower one my range, and I'm not sure how that'll go.

We'll see though! I'll definitely not allow my high end to be above 133 though; I know that for sure.

I had a goal of 120 and I actually got to 116 for a day..lol However, I decided that 117 was the lowest I could go and 122 was where I would get worried. I figured a 5 pound low high range was good. If I hit 121, I start cutting a few caliories out until I get back to 117. It usually doesn't take long as most of the time the weight gain is me eating too much salt, TOM, or heavy weight training.

My range is between 120-125 as well. A couple of years ago I was down to 112 but was only doing very little strength training. Last summer I was very close to 130, not sure what happened, a combination of not enough cardio, really heavy weights and so-so eating I think. I've got a really good handle on my food now and totally revamped my weight routine in the past year and my weight is going down again and so is my bodyfat.

I actually allow myself a full 10 lbs. I weigh every day. So I always know where I am and what I should do for the day. I have been doing this for awhile. So I know all winter I will fight to stay below the 110, and I know in the summer I will be between 100 and 102 with my husband trying to see the scale every time I get on it for fear I am going to get too thin!

Even after 6 months on maintenance it's difficult not to get freaked out by the number. My goal was 120, now I am more often around 122. The rational part of me knows this is because I've lost more fat and gained muscle, but the compulsive dieter part of me deperately wants to be below 120.

While I'm working hard to stay between 155 and 160 (the lowest I've ever been is 159, so anything below would actually be a loss), I'll let myself get up to 162-163 for a couple days before I start to worry. My weight fluctuates quite a bit during my cycle, so I have to consider that as well. If the scale reads 164 but my clothes are fitting fine...I try not to worry too much because I know it's probably related to my cycle more than my habits.

I am between 125 to 135. With going to the gym, my shape is actually better now at 130 than at 120 (no exercise) in 1990. Weight that i gain on weekends, comes off quickly once i get back on the diet during Monday thru Friday (with going to the gym 1 hr 5 days a week).

My range is 132-128 also, it does fluctuate a bit, and for awhile I was lower, then for a while I went above. I've been tracking again, and still see the fluctuations, but the high number for the week has been consistently getting lower, so I think I'm on the right track w/ it. I think you will find the right range for you if you track for a couple of months and see where your highs and lows fall as long as you are sticking w/ the program for the most part.

Laurie sounds like you are on the right track...I try to stay in the middle of the range I have set. If I get to the high end I get back to tracking and monitoring more vigilantly..

I weigh myself every day, so I know how my weight fluctuates. I know that I rarely am at my original goal weight of 119. I am 120 on a good day. Most days I am 121 or 122. I know I am getting into danger zone if I get as high as 124. It will be different for everyone. You have to just monitor your own body.

My maintenance range is also about 4 - 5 pounds. 118-122. If I hit 123, I know it's time to do something different - eat better for a few days, crank up to cardio (or both!!) just till I feel things are back under control.

I want to thank all of you so much. I think I will start at a range of 128-132. If I get too much below 130 I look way too thin and people start asking me if I feel okay. So we will see. This Spark team is the best.

I've given myself a goal range of 120-125, my original goal weight being 123. I find the 5-pound range gives me lots of room for fluctuations and it's fairly easy to stay within it. You might need to experiment a bit to find what's perfect for you.

I allow myself plus or minus 5 lbs, but I try to keep it at plus or minus 2.

It is my understanding that it is just the range which you are comfortable with. I feel okay if I am 2 pounds over my goal weight or 2 pounds under my goal weight, but more than that and I would definitely want to make a change. Make sense?
