2BFITAGN, I've heard many people say that they lose about 5 pounds on maintenance whether they mean to or not. Personally, I've lost 3. It is an adjustment and there is a learning curve. My advice is to increase your calorie intake slowly but surely until you are comfortable. You are bound to lose a few more pounds that way! Good luck!

Happy to say that I am within my range, even with a 3-week holiday in July. Not much damage done and back to where I was before holiday time already.

I like the party idea!

Cheers!

Now what to do? I think I need to lose a few more (maybe 5) lbs. to lower my body fat % but I am getting weary of the lower calorie range. I don't want to go nuts with the calories but a few more each day sure would be nice. emoticon It's so confusing! Maybe I'll do maintenance and see what happens. If I go up, I can always go back to losing range. emoticon

Here is what some Maintainers For Life do:

Kitty

The best advice I can give is to eat "normally" while you're losing the weight so that maintenance is nothing more than a continuation of that process.

Keep in mind that
1) You must eat in order to lose, and
2) the more you can eat while losing weight, the more you'll be able to eat when you reach your goal.

Susanna

Understand why you over ate in the first place - stress, boredom, low-self esteem, etc. It is an absolute must that you find other coping mechanisms for dealing with these issues. Unfortunately, these things do not go away once you loose the weight.

Brian

Keeping sugar reduced
Minimizing processed food
Keep portion sizes reasonable
Cover 2/3's of my plate with fruits and/or veggies
exercise

When my gym owner said i didn't need to loose anymore, because of "how I looked", i upped my weight "lee-way". The charts said 118-128. But guess the gym workouts firmed up my "bumps" so now my lee-way is 125-135. So I got to "goal" this month !!!

I've been wandering up and down the scale, but feel the goal range is met for the most part. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to lower the goal, but I'm content w/ where I am now, clothes fit fine, just want to lower the body fat %. This may require a lower weight.

I met my original goal of 135 7/18/07 and have stayed within 2.5 pounds of that number ever since! When I hit 137 7/30/07, I decided to aggresively lose those 2 pounds again. Then I accidentally lost 3 pounds and decided I wanted to maintain my weight at 134 instead of 135. After gaining some, I lost some more and ended up at 132.5. Then I wanted to stay there. And here I am...maintaining...I think! Yes, I like to change my mind!

I'm maintaining! I've been on maintenance for 8 1/2 months, and just got back into my range after a little "blip" from our vacation camping. (It was only a pound and a half outside maintenance range, but I'm glad I'm back where I should be!)

I hit my goal August 2nd and other and I have maintained the range so far. I'm more concerned about losing more than gaining right now. I am still trying to find the balance.

I'm in maintenance range, but I haven't been able to stick as close to 120 as I would like. I am avoiding the temptation to go back to weight loss mode to get there. I'm only 5 weeks into marathon training, and surely when I am running higher mileage I will drop these last couple of pounds. As of today though, I am challenging myself- no more second helpings of anything (except fruits and veggies) until I get back to 120.
