Heading off to bed. Still coming off the virus, which reared another ugly head at work today. Glad my dept is close to the ladies. Busy, and the boss is out because his mom passed while I was out. Not that I could have done anything then, but trying to pick up some slack and keep things running through this time so he needn't worry about what he will come back to. Going for a short swim after work tomorrow. I thought my legs had finally recovered, but after logging 4+ miles at work, I think they still have a little way to go before another leg training day.

Quick check in before heading out for choir practice. Calories in range but over on fat. Weight up a bit, probably too much sodium and not enough water. I was blaming my rolfing session for my sinus ails today (being face down on a massage table for a while last night) but the weatherman informs me that the trees think it is already spring and that those of us with allergies are feeling it. Our house is still a shambles as the interior walls are painted. Two of the three cats managed to step in wet paint today. I can't wait to get back to our normal level of disorder! emoticon

36 degrees here in Milwaukee, WI. snow flurries mixed with rain. not nice enough to go outside and walk. Went to bible study this morning and picked up a print I bid on for our synagogue fundraiser. Now I have to get it framed. Going to a book talk. A women is going to speak about her dad's friendship during WWII with a German pilot. Remarkable thing is her dad was Jewish and the pilot fought on the side of the Nazi's. Should be an very interesting talk.

Those 4 lbs that came on in the last seven days have vanished! Must have been water-retention or inflammation. Whatever the case, I feel so much better knowing it wasn't permanent weight regain.

Wow! Happy and healthy Wednesday to all! So much activity for everyone today! Very inspiring. Scale is up a pound for me today, but still under goal. Made some whole wheat oatmeal chocolate chip cookies yesterdays from the Spark Recipes page. They turned out great! DH and girls loved them. Then, with a guest over for dinner, I had a cannoli for dessert! Yummo!! One of my favorite treats!

Did a yoga class and a step class this morning. And I am hitting the water train today! Have a great day! Sending sunshine to those with cold and clouds today.

Today is my oldest "baby's" 19th birthday. In our state she is recognized as an adult and no longer needs a parents ok or signature for anything. It's kind of strange realizing that she doesn't "need" me in that capacity anymore.

I'm proud of the woman she has become and I know she has great things yet to do. I just wonder where the last 19 years have gone! At least I know I'm healthier and I'll be around for a long time...if I have my way!

Didn't have such a great yoga class last night, weird how your mind plays tricks on you when you set up on the opposite side of the room!! Now I know to stick to the one side.

Good morning! I know it is spring here because the wind is blowing. I was at bunco and everyone's phones started with the emergency alerts advising against travel due to the blowing dust. Ridiculous!

I've got to get my water in and track my calories today. The scale has started creeping back up. Gotta get that under control!

Hey all!

Oh I've done jumping jacks in the bathroom to get my steps in. Lately I try to get steps in early so I constantly walk back and forth between the bathroom and spare bedroom down the hall getting ready for work every morning! Spark crazy is good crazy!

I took advantage of being in early today and did the 12 min seated core workout!

1st day of spring tomorrow! WHOOHOOO!

Happy Hump Day!

Yesterday, I did drag the guy out for a bit of a walk, but not much of one. My mouth is still sore from the fillings, and I'm not done yet with getting old fillings replaced. Tooth that chipped does not yet need anything else, and she added something to the filling which should prevent the need for a root canal (which will probably also mean a crown), but we shall see. Since my guy was over, I didn't really track as I ate which ended up meaning that I ate way less than I should have, which tends to be the case these days. I ended up cooking which meant that we ate way healthier than we otherwise tend to do when together, and I like doing it. Eatingwell's Maple Mustard Pork is a hit pretty much with anyone I've made it for, and is pretty easy. Some yellow squash and zucchini sliced and sauteed with an onion and a bit of oil and done.

Today, going to hit the gym for cardio and ST, a run tomorrow and then my 5K on Sunday. Weight was low.

After library and laundry day yesterday, today is grocery day. So, I'm typing this while my coupons print. :)

Life has been challenging and I don't know how to solve it. My kids are growing up, ya know? They do that. And as they get bigger, they need and want to do more things. And that means as parents, we have to over come the inertia that we have to be lazy at home. It's turning me into a nag and my hubby a grump (because I'm nagging!) None of us are morning people and I don't know where to get more hours in our day unless we wake earlier...

But, I got my steps in yesterday and fell *just* shy of my calorie burn goal. And I feel pretty good about it after an off weekend.

Have a happy hump day!!! We are almost there... Spring officially starts tomorrow?!

It took me two days of careful eating and lots of exercise to make up for my Sunday of pigging out, but I'm happy to be back at a pound under goal this morning. I'm so glad to have the tools now to help me get right back on track!
I love knowing I'm not the only one doing crazy things (i.e. Tortoise jogging in place right before bed!) to get my steps in! Dancing while doing the dishes is my favorite. Wearing this pedometer and having a pedometer challenge at work has made me do a lot more walking than I used to. For example, on Wednesdays I swim, but that doesn't do a thing for my pedometer, so now I also will take a couple of walks.
Happy Hump Day to all, and hang in there! Spring really IS on the way!!

LOL Tortoise - I have been known to do jumping jacks in the bathroom to make my activity monitor do its sparkly blink. Maree - hope you can get back on the comfortable sleep cycle soon. I'm with you, DC - would love someone to grill me some fish for dinner tonight. alas. I think I will be the one in the kitchen, after the gym and after the grocery store. I can't go another day without my beloved bananas. Can you believe it? Himself at the LAST of the bananas!!!!

all kidding aside - it's stationary bike for me today. Not sure about strength training tomorrow a.m.

Official weigh in was down 1.2 lbs but still 1.4 over my goal range. these are always the hardest lbs to lose, aren't they?

Freezing rain and sleet here so winter is still refusing to let go. Heading to the Y for 90 min of water jogging, 45 min water exercise and then 45 min combo strength and stretching, then later to the Family History Center if the weather doesn't close it. Have a great hump day all

Up early to enjoy some quiet time. Rain has begun and everything is a slushy mess and now the forecast is for dropping temps and SNOW again on Monday. Taking it a little slow since I'm still a tad achy from that bug. Long day at work today and then home to try to do a few chores. Hopefully a good night's rest tonight will get me back to the gym tomorrow AM before work.

Good morning! I hope those of you who are sick or healing are taking good care of yourselves. Wishing you patience. It is the hardest thing to be sick and wanting to be well.

I got back on track yesterday after sitting so much. So I had to jog in place before bed to get in my 10K It made for a good laugh! "What ARE you doing?" said my DH You would think he'd know by now, how Spark-crazy looks!

I did shovel a path out on our deck so I could cook halibut on the gas grill last night. Really Winter. You have worn out your welcome. VAMOOSE!!! emoticon

Good morning!

I'm up way too early, because I went to bed too early because I had an exhausting day at work. When I try to stay up, I tend to turn to food for energy, when what I need is rest. So this sets me up for a long day ahead. Not sure what to do about this vicious cycle.

Enjoyed a lunchtime walk in the sun yesterday although the strong wind gave me a new hairstyle! The Intensity Workout was a killer and I am so sore!

But I am headed back to the gym this morning for 30 min cardio and 60 min Dynamic ST class. Nutrition needs to be lean and mean.

Hope those with ailments are on the mend and physical therapy has positive results! Great to hear how everyone's taking good care of these earthly vessels!
