Hi all my spark buddies! Sorry for not being on here as much lately. Yesterday I went for a nice short run in the country then to my great aunt in laws funeral after a nice lunch. She was an inspirational woman. Lived an awesome 106.5 years nurse, mother, widow with a great attitude with a great sense of style! My inlaws took my family and I out for my bday dinner and then we went to my sil for homemade bday cake w/ice cream and a nice Yankee candle for our new to us home. Our kids had an excellent play date then we visited the other sil and her family. I slept in this morning trying to catch up on sleep. Traveling home today. Hope you all had a great weekend as well!!

Concert yesterday. I wasn't pleased with my performance but it was good for me to follow through with something that I didn't particularly want to do, because it was about helping out a friend of my husband. Chinese dinner out, so I'm not surprised that my weight is up a bit, though not as much as usual. The sodium usually puts it up a couple of pounds and today it's just half a pound. Church, Costco and maybe some household chores on tap for today.

very brisk fall day here in wisconsin so sitting with a cup of raspberry tea and trying to man up enough to take the puppy for a walk. Trying to teach her to walk on a loose leash so its not a very exercise getting walk as we have to keep stopping till she stops pulling. She's 13 wks old now and starting to get strong so have to break of that pulling habit now. Then it's off to church and scouts later this evening. You all have gotten my interest on what a plank is and what a plank challenge is. Anyone want to describe it for me.
MOVING AND MAINTAINING. Yesterday is gone, let it go, tomorrow hasn't happened, don't long for it. Today is the present .........enjoy it

Ah, Toni, the plank challenge. I'm on day 19, which fortunately is a rest day. Yesterday I reached what I believe is my limit with 2.5 minutes, and tomorrow is supposed to be another 2.5 minutes before moving directly to 3 minutes. I am not liking the challenge right now, because it ramps up too quickly, so I may just have to modify it for my own ability and ramp up more slowly. Yesterday was ugly, as my belly had sagged almost to the floor when the time was up.

Spent the day puttering around the Northern Neck of VA. We'd been given free tickets to an oyster roast and we made a day of it - even though I knew that if I went there would be fried oysters and if there were fried oysters I'd eat them. Only the line was so long and the tiny serving area was so cramped looking that even the temptation of fried oysters wasn't enough to make this hungry girl wait in line for an hour just to get served. We passed, got indifferent but much lighter sandwiches from a subway shop, and puttered around the nooks and crannies, bays and back roads of the Potomac River shoreline. We'd park and walk around a a little village then drive on to another and park and walk. Measured out to 3 miles altogether. And we bought our own oysters at one of the seafood shops to cook up today. P. S. I'll make oyster pie out of most of them but I will fry one or two for each of us.
So okay, I did the plank. Not that I am impacted by social pressure! LOL Yesterday my 10 year old grand daughter and I timed our planks. Over a minute. Not bad for a "first out." She beat my time of course, the rascal is competitive and strong! Just right (-:

Beautiful day yesterday. DH was out with his hunting buddies all day preparing for waterfowl season, trapping and cutting wood. Brought some home and had a fire last night. We found some great books for granddaughter. We laugh at the things she comes up with--kids are a hoot!
Disney cruise sounds wonderful--hope you enjoy it!! Concerts, long runs, chilly walks with puppy dogs, playing in the leaves with kiddis. These are a few of our favorite things.....
