Another day in calorie range, even though I allowed myself a small piece of celebratory cake. It was ube with coconut filling, from a local Philippino bakery. I'm not sure ube (a type of yam) gives any flavor, but it makes a pretty purple cake. This afternoon we're both performing in a concert. I sing and my beloved plays the tuba. Have a great weekend!
Hey kids. Up at at em this morning, walked the dog for 20 minutes (BRR!), made a veggie, egg white omlette, four glasses of water in and now I'm going to finish my book, walk to the library to take it back (2 1/2 miles each way), then settle in with another book for a little while before I start laundry.
Later it will be the elliptical and the ABC workout (as seen on an old Regis and Kelly episode).
Good morning team - getting ready to race out the door for one more day of work before my "weekend". Having LOTS of difficulty getting a rhythym going and late night sugar attacks are what has been doing me in....especially while I am trying to catch up on line. May have to cut out the pre bedtime on line catch up sessions for a time to break this bad habit. Hope you all have a good day - talk at 'cha tomorrow.

LOL Toni - I feel the same way about that plank challenge. I'm tempted - but I'm a just not quite there yet. Maree - it's true - you really belie the definition of Grandma.
We had a fabulous event last night for the library - kept me out till 9:30 though and while I was there I got the news that a dear friend's husband died of a heart attack. How my heart aches for this special friend. In our little town, everyone knows everyone and Joe was one of the volunteer firemen so he really touched the lives of many people. It was weird to be excited, happy and sad all at the same time.
This is the big fall Author Dinner event and now that it's over my life is a nice glide into the holiday season. No formal exercise yesterday but setting up and taking down a party room for a sitdown meal for 75 people was exercise enough for one day. Today? a nice long walk.
Calories in my happy range, lots of walking, plus 80 minutes of scuba diving at two very exciting sites - one of the best days I've had in a long time. Really, it was such a wonderful day, I'd like to do it all over again!!!!

Good morning, team! Maree, you look great! So much younger than my math calculated. Wow! I hope I can do that. Toni, cherished moments with loved ones are very gratifying. Enjoy! I am up early to check in on my second day of vacation making memories with my family. We arrived in Disney World yesterday. Girls got to swim in the afternoon, went shopping and played arcade games. They were beat! We leave on the cruise boat today. Sailing my first cruise on the Disney Fantasy. It is our ten year anniversary gift. What better way to spend it than with the girls and some close friends. I really want to get a short run in this morning, but not sure I can manage the time frame. Will need to be diligent today after having a fairly indulgent day yesterday. Chicken panini for lunch and mini cupcakes for dessert. Yum! I hope I can stay true to my new lifestyle on this cruise. Already went through all the buffet and service menus to look at the options. Many seem reasonable. I will try to track each day and get a couple of runs in on the track deck of the ship. That usually keeps me accountable. And I am giving myself some leeway.
I had a great day outside yesterday hanging out with grandkids and our daughter who is going through a rough time. It was great to take care of her a bit. We ended the day playing cards, "five person rummy," laughing and laughing. Wonderful.
I can't get the plank out of my mind. Neither have I done one in awhile. We'll see what the next 24 bring. You rascals on the challenge are getting to me (-:

O thanks for the "don't look old enough to be a grandma" compliment. 4A-HEALTHY -BMI just posted a link to a fitness age calculator. Mine was "younger than 20". It's based on waist size, resting heart rate, exercise frequency. Need to do that "realage.com" My birth year is 1953 so you do the math!
I woke up around 3:00 bursting with feelings of gratitude. Granddaughter was such a sweetie tonight. Counting my blessings.
I expect we will head to the park today for some exercise. Sunshiney and 60 degree weather in the forecast. Hope it's a great day for all!
