I use a weight range. It's too hard to pick a single number. I only weigh in once a week, otherwise I'd obsess about the numbers!

The scale is my friend! I weigh in weekly with the goal to maintain 162. I typically stay under by about 2 pounds.

I'm not exactly maintaining yet, but I think I'll be shooting for a +/- 5lbs range. I have thoughts on building muscle mass as well though, so I've got some figuring to do on that whole range.

I maintain to a range. I unexpectedly dropped below 170lbs recently to 169.8lbs and then this week to 169.2lbs. I have decided to maintain a range between 169 and 174lbs which will allow me some "guilty pleasures" from time to time. I now work out at least 5 days a week which includes treadmill running at around 10kph for 38 minutes (including a 3 minute cooldown within the 38), that's about 30 k per week. Following the run I usually do some pushups (30-60), some abs for about 15 minutes of various ab exercises, and a few weights just for toning. I've dropped below a 34 waistline heading towards 32. Still find time for dog walking etc as we get up well before work. I've haven't felt better in years. At 55, am very proud of the new me. Younger physically, wiser mentally.

September already! Time to hunker down into full on assault on any remaining flab.

I weigh once a week and focus on my goal weight. If I'm a little over, I eat less and exercise more the rest of the week. This seems to be working.

I use the +/-3% range. I can fluctuate up to about five pounds within a normal week, so trying to stay at a fixed number would be an exercise in futility and extreme frustration for me.

I weigh myself a lot so I use a +/-3 pounds to account for water fluctuation. I've been very consistent.

Not secure enough with my maintenance to get rid of the scale, but I do know that some fluctuation is normal, so I have a range of +/- 3%.

I ignore the scales but pay attention to body fat and how clothes fit.

I am only 13 weeks into maintenance, but I've been trying to stay within the 3%+-. So far this seems to be working for me. I still weigh myself twice a week....Wednesday as a check to see where I am at and the Sunday as my weight in.

I use a range, too, with my goal weight in the center. I also have a "scream weight" at the high end that I never want to go above. I make small changes if I'm above or below goal within the range. I go back to weight loss mode if I hit scream weight. So far, going below my range hasn't happened.

I use a range because I weigh every day and weight just bounces around a little. WW used to have a +/- 2 pound range to stay free, so that's how I think of it. If I'm down a little, give it a day and it's back. If I am up a little, I just cut back a little for a day or two just in case. I don't agonize over whether it's water, it's easy to cut back a little for a day or two.

Even your car gets slightly different mileage from every gallon of gas, and it's a machine. There is no way that any biological organism can be exactly the same weight every day. Thus the bounce range. As long as I adjust daily to what I see, I can stay "at goal".

I know many do not use a scale but I find it works for me, so I am wondering if people maintain to a certain weight (i.e. 124) or a weight range (i.e. 121-124) since weight naturally varies from day to day? Thanks!
