A friend challenged me to join her in cutting out the little "extras" that creep into our fairly healthy diets. I never realized how many things I am tempted by on a daily basis until they were written out in a list of proscribed foods! Guidelines were cutting out all soda, alcohol, refined sugar, artificial sweetener and unnecessary high-carb foods. I have been going strong for two weeks with only two slip ups (one alcoholic drink and one diet coke), but I have a list a mile long of all the things I've resisted. Today it was donuts and Starbucks.

I have real trouble in the evenings. I can't seem to be near the kitchen without looking in the pantry and putting something in my mouth. I'm not hungry, so I'm not sure what I'm looking for.

Anyway I passed up the pantry last evening. Maybe it was because the day was quite productive. Maybe what I want is to 'do' more and eating seems like doing? idk

Or maybe it was because I did something awesome yesterday and what I'm looking for is a treat. Yesterday's treat was a long walk on the beach, but I can't do that every day. I don't have the time during the week.
