I will pray for you. I hope you can call and even on a weekends there is some one to give the dentist a message. You may need penicillin for an infection. Can you take a pill for pain and try to call the dentist any way. Linda from bean town

Just checking in. It's been hard to get here. I had my mouth surgery last THURSDAY and I'm still in a lot of pain. Of course I did it on a holiday weekend so I won't be able to see the dentist until tomorrow. It's really messing with my nutrition and fitness. It's starting to effect my ear so I know something is going. Pray for me. This very hard to deal with.

It is a late check in for me today. Just helped my mom pack her things in her car so she can make the three hour drive back to her home in CT. It was so nice to have her with us for three days. She is so helpful around the house and we did some serious shopping. My mom is a good shopper and I got some great deals on clothes. Since I have lost the weight, I have not updated my fall and winter wardrobe with my new size. Got some great finds! Also, Mom took in my dress slacks for my suits and my skirts too. She is a good seatstress and we had fun talking at night while I caught up on all the family madness and drama! The girls love having "grammy" over too. They were so upset to see her leaved today. I am thankful that she is healthy enough to make the long drive and do so much with us.
Since we were so busy, I did not get to track this weekend. Mom and I took some walks around my neighborhood and I hit the gym this morning before she left while she stayed and played with the girls. I did not over do it this weekend, even with the baked goods in the house. So I am pleased with my intake overall.
I've got the Monday morning sleepies! It didn't help that I woke up an hour early and then kept looking at the clock every few minutes to see if it was time for the alarm to go off, and moving a cat to make sure that I could hear it when it did. My adventure in Ethiopian cooking was a success, though I think I'd cut back on the oil/butter next time. I'm feeling unsightly this morning because I have an insect bite on my cheek. Nothing like a big red welt to make you feel attractive!

Glad to report that, despite what I worried was a low exercise week and a not very attentive eating week, I have maintained the same weight and measurements that I noted in May. I am super grateful to all of the supportive SparkPeople for helping me to learn good habits that really do seem to have become habits.
I have the day off today and will spend the morning transitioning the closet from summer clothes to sweaters and warm pants. Then off to the lakefront for a good walk and strength training.
I am jealous of VA for having rain--while the sunshine in Chicago is lovely, we have not had a good rain in several weeks and the gardens are dry dry dry. No frost yet, so still enjoying fresh mint from our community herb garden.
I'm dragging a bit this morning, got a bit of the fall allergy lethargic feeling but will power through.
Congrats on the 1/2 marathon Macko. I bow down to you! I enjoyed watching some of the runners at the Chicago marathon cross the finish line yesteray. I heard a man with MS crossed the finish line at 1:00 this morning. Amazing!

Good morning team! Enjoying a rare SECOND day off in a row! Spent the early part of the day yesterday going in to the city and cheering on a bunch of running buddies and dozens and hundreds of other runners at the Chicago Marathon. It couldn't have been a better day weather wise and was a delightful and inspiring experience. Thinking and praying about possibly doing it next year. Today, I go pick up my remade orthotics. After that, I'll meet a friend for some good conbersation and coffee, go pick up a new pair of running shoes and then take them out the to Arboretum for a test run and some good cardio while I wait for the theater hike (The Passion of Dracula). I'll head home after that and rake some leaves and then cook dinner and get prepared for the rest of the week. Nutrition wan't bad yesterday and getting the extra moving in has my weight within a pound of the center of goal. Hopefully I'll keep up the moving and fitness - especially if I get clearance from the ortho and chiro to go for the Marathon and I'll get my weight down near the lower end of the range.

Good morning and Bess, I'll be looking for that sunshine too. Golly, it's been a long time since it has rained so consistently in VA.
I had a pretty lazy day yesterday, with only a modest amount of steps on my fitbit. But it's a new day and I'll try to use it more wisely.
I've started stopping by the Message Boards every morning and welcoming a new member. It's a friendly way to start my day and it helps me remember how I got to Maintenance and how daunting it seemed at the beginning.
Now onward to the new day and a new start.

spent the morning lolling and the afternoon looking for a new refrigerator. Not much exercise even if we did walk around big appliance stores for a long time. We're off to the city today to do some more shopping around and to visit my mother. Sunshine might actually peep out at us today. Not exactly sure what we'll do for exercise but we'll probably walk around some pretty neighborhood for a few miles.
Eating was way off the chart yesterday because we went to a buffet style restaurant. What were we thinking? LOL Today it will be all about the vegetable smoothies.
