Kelliebean, I know the feeling. My alarm usually goes off a little before 4 during the work week, and during this first week of furlough, my cat has decided to substitute for the alarm clock. Sheesh! Sorry about the doctor advising against running. My uncle was a doctor, and he pretty much said the same thing to me when I tore my ACL. I stopped running for decades and have just decided to go back to it.
So...after overdoing it all week with running, looooooong walks, swimming, and ST, I took yesterday totally off. Off as in a therapeutic massage (meaning deep tissue and pain) and spending the day otherwise with my feet up watching TV and eating mindlessly. Back to the routine today. Started the day with a 4-mile run/walk, then walked an additional mile. The 5 miles took 61 minutes. I figure if I can start a HM like that, I can walk the other 8.1 miles if I need to and still finish in the allotted time (3:30 here).
