Happy Labor Day! I am very late checking in today. Slept in and then made my way to the gym for a class. I feel much better today, but it is cloudy so no pool today. DH got in a bike ride with the girls while I was at the gym so they got some exercise too. Going to relax for the rest of the day.
Slow starting this morning. I got up at my regular time because you can't turn off an alarm cat, but then went right back to bed. Yesterday we had fried chicken for lunch and I brought home most of my side dishes for dinner. I forgot to mention my personal victory from Saturday. I'm a bit shy and I often forget that restaurants are usually pretty good about making substitutions or omissions. When we went out for breakfast I subbed spinach (which I love) for tomatoes (which I hate) in a scramble and told them to hold the toast and the hashbrowns. If they come on the plate I'll eat at least some of them, but it they aren't there...well, I didn't even finish the scramble!

Hi All, I walked the dog this morning. I only gained a pound this week. I need to drink more water. I want to go to the gym today but being Labor Day I do not know if it is open. I will have to call and check and ask my son to watch Mom for an hour. Have a wonderful day it is rainy here. Linda from bean town

HAPPY LABOR DAY everyone!
Up and getting an early start - got to work 7:30-4:30 today. Just as I suspected, after the BIG indulgence on Saturday night, the weight is headed back down this morning. Calories were high yesterday too, but it was all healthy (clean) stuff and my calorie burn from my run was 1330 calories, so my body needed the extra. On a really happy note, I bought a pair of sandals yesterday from a friend who got a deal on them ($65 - pricey for a good deal, but worth it!) They are Chaco sandals and have a massive arch. Kind of uncomfortable at first and tough to get used to, but it is the best that my heel has felt in WEEKS (MONTHS)! My podiatrist will be SO happy, and maybe it will speed up the healing.

Good morning my Spark Friends. Kelly - good for you for staying true to your fitness goals. Maree - what fun it must have been to watch your grand discover the sandbar.
We could have gone swimming yesterday or even sailing in the afternoon since it was both hot and windy - but we were slugs instead and lay about the house reading. We did get in a nice 3 mile walk out to the landing, but we neither of us got in the water with Callie the little dog. and today it's drizzly and calling for rain. missed opportunity there.
OTOH - 2 of those 5 extra bloat pounds are gone and my eating was on track. Let's hope the other 3 lbs melt away at the same pace. I'm not sure how I'll spend the day but I think there will be some meditation in it somewhere. I want to go back tomorrow with a fresh feeling.

Good morning and Happy Labor Day! What a beautiful day on the River yesterday! The first sandbar experience for the 2 yr old granddaughter was a HUGE success. She took to the water like a little fishy. We had family pictures taken in the morning; I hope we get some good ones.
I'm still resting the leg and just running in the shallow water was all the exercise I got yesterday, except walking the dogs. Some indulgences in eating, but it will be manageable if the scale shows a gain.
