My weight is down slightly for the week, at least so that I'm not out of the challenge before it's started. We spent yesterday afternoon out of the boat, so it was late and we were hungry when we got in...fast food Chinese. I wonder what my weight would have been this morning if I'd had something with less sodium. Time to leave for church!
Ah, yes, a clean slate, and I need it. Scale is heading back down from travel food and drink this week, but I'm in a different danger zone. DH got called to fly a four-day trip, and I have an annoying tendency to snack mindlessly in the evenings when he is gone.

Good morning! Happy September! Great ideas floating around the check in this morning for new goals for the month. This month, I am going to get back into my exercise routine and get used to bringing both girls to two different schools. I also want to get back to making my healthy recipes now that the BBQ season is coming to a close up here. These BBQs have been my misstep lately.
Yesterday, we went to the Penn State game at MetLife Stadium and tailgated all afternoon before the game and then in the evening after the game. I made and brought all the good snacks - guac, salsa, chips, veggies and dip and pasta salad with feta cheese and DH grilled burgers, hotdogs and sausages. Yum!!! Penn St. Won the game and college football is underway! The girls came with us too and they were very good. Troopers, in fact. It was a fun day.
Today, I am feeling it. My back is sore and I am feeling a bit sick. Not sure if all the junk food I ate yesterday has anything to to with it. Probably! LOL! I am up 2 lbs. today as expected. I have not felt like this in a long time. I plan to take it easy today and ride the healthy food train.

I'm with you, Kellie - I'm not sure what kind of goal to set for myself for the month. Poohscout, I also get into a numbers game of sorts. I took my measurements today and I lost more in my hips, which raised my waist-to-hip ratio and I started thinking about losing a little more in my waist so I can get that number smaller blah blah blah, but it's purely vanity because I'm in a decidedly healthy range by every measurements there is. I know setting some kind of fitness goals is a good alternative once you're in maintenance, but that can be more challenging when you're not able or inclined to get your fitness from something competitive (running is an obvious one, which is too high impact for my knees). Anyway, I will spend some more time today thinking about a good goal for myself for the month. Happy September everyone!
Church and the fair again today and then only one more day of the fair and i can get back to my normal routine which i sorely miss. Weight has held steady through out the fair so i must be getting enough exercise and'such. Last night the fair hosted the Oak Ridge Boys and it was a fantastic concert, but got to bed later than usual so i slept in till a whopping 7am. I am also thinking of some new fall goals and will be trying to drop another 3lbs which will put me at the lower end of my maintance goal. I really don't need to lose anymore but the vanity me would just love to be in the 130"s instead of 140;s. Does anyone else struggle with that type of number game?
MOVING AND MAINTAINING. Yesterday is gone, let it go, tomorrow hasn't happened, don't long for it. Today is the present .........enjoy it

We had guests for a cookout yesterday and I hoped the activity of getting the house ready for company and canoeing would have balanced out the extra wine and food I knew I'd consume. Evidently NOT since this morning I was a whopping 5 lbs up over Saturday morning. I know. It was not just bloat but water retention in my upper body ... canoeing 4 women and 3 dogs is a lot harder than canoeing 2 dogs. the rest of this weekend I'll serve a very tightly monitored menu. Don't want to start September with excess me.
HEY HEY - It IS a new month and time to build some new goals on to the achievements of last month.
Went with the family to dinner last night a Golden Corral. Dangerous place, that. I did fill up my (first) plate with salad and aside from some (2 tbsp) blue cheese kept it to wise choices. Next time I WILL sneek in my own dressing (some GOOD balsamic vinegar). Had one fried shrimp and one potato chip (yes, one) but some VERY WELL trimmed prime rib was my downfall along with a second helping of cornbread with blackeyed peas and greens. Naturally weight is up TWO pounds today - I'm certain much of that is bloating. Ate a healthy breakfast as headed out to try to knock out ten miles before church - wish me luck. If I can accomplish that, I should be able to at least finish both my scheduled halfs for this fall - and knock off quite a bit of the bloat from yesterdays overindulgence.

(Oh, yeah - and despite the blip on the scale this morning - still under my mid goal weight range point! WOOHOO!)
