I'm so excited today. I have lost 4 inches since I started working out with weights and I started keeping a routine strength one day, cardio the next. I started this when I reached goal last month.
Pam: The Weekly Challenge Team Leader.
I have lost 100 lbs and a few to go to reach my goal.
So glad to have arrived in Maintenance-ville!
Today, I had a Calorie Deficit of 772 calories. I am tracking everything I eat and the FitBit counts the calories burned. So today I burned 772 calories more than I ate. Paying attention to the Daily Calorie Deficit is what has helped me get the weight off, so I plan to continue doing this as a Maintainer.
I reached my goal weight of 137 on July 29th, so I guess I have been a Maintainer for 10 whole days. That is 10 days out of the two years of Maintenance that I will need to reach a 50% probability of keeping the weight off forever. That is only another 720 days of Maintenance! [355 x 2 = 730; minus the 10 days I have already maintained = 720].
Can I do this? You bet'cha!
So glad to be a member of this very supportive team.
Thanks to all of you! You have made me feel very welcome here.

I tried the elliptical at the gym today, for the first time. Liked it! So today's cardio was 1/2 elliptical, and 1/2 treadmill. Can't wait to get back on the hiking trails Saturday a.m.

I had one of those,"I give up." nights. It's so hard to track foods with any accuracy. I made spare ribs last night. They were fatty, but I drained a half cup of fat off of them after cooking. So how many calories? Tracker suggestions ranged from around 600 to over 1300! I need a big dose of "yes I care" or I'm going to have to turn in my maintainer's badge! On the colonoscopy subject, the test isn't bad, it's the prep that's harsh. The big drawback to the virtual colonoscopy is that it requires a big radiation dose. Also they can't take biopsies as they can with a standard exam. So if a polyp is seen on the virtual, you have to get another exam!
Hi All, I worked out at the gym today. I used the treadmill and the eiliptic machine. I walked the dogs and now I am so tired. I did not eat enough to burn all those calories. Linda from bean town

Cardio, core, weights, two Sparkpeople videos, stretching.
An afternoon walk yesterday. Hopefully, more walking today.
Good Morning everyone!
I had good energy yesterday and got one more big chore ticked off my summer list.. the front deck scrubbed.. It's needs one more light scrubbing before re-staining and that will take care of that one..
Gardening has been pretty well nil as we are in a drought right now and have a well, thus I have to be careful with our water supply. It's sad to see the trees drooping and the flowers shrivelling up.
3 good nights now with minimal gastric distress.
Reached goal weight 112 lbs November 23, 2012
Wow, everyone is so active!
WTG with the test results, Toni!
Kelliebean, there are virtual colonoscopies, but I've never heard anyone say they are as accurate as the real ones. The anticipation and prep are the worst parts.
Missed posting yesterday, as I was swamped at the office and have to get finish a lot of work today for an interagency meeting tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning team!
Got up and ran 4 miles. Felt great! Now I'm sitting at the computer and eating a healthy breakfast. I've really been feeling down lately about some career challenges, but trying to stay positive and busy. Everyone have a great day!
I'll make it to the moon, if I have to crawl.

My first colonoscopy is in a year or two.I know it's important but I'm dreading it. I wish there was a booth you could stand in like at the airport and get everything scanned. I'm a big baby!
Sorry the plantar issue is back Logould. I'm trying to fix mine before it gets bad before a 5K on the 24th. We'll see, I may have to hang it up for the season after that. The new shoes I bought will hopefully help. I also bought a foam roller to massage my calf which I read helps. I LOVE it!
Day seven of the #backontrack August challenge. It's going well. On to week 2!
Happy Hump Day all!

Morning everyone! Quick check-in before my workout. Have a great day!
Calories in range, walked a few miles - gotta drink some more water - then all is good.

So glad to hear your stress level is down, now, Maree. Stress really does wreck our lives! and ditto - Toni - smart girl to be getting that colonoscopy. I got really worked up about the first one and it was such a bunch of nothing I felt silly afterwards. And it's about time for me to consider my second one too. I'll ask my DR in November when I have my check-up.
Official weight was a few ounces below my goal weight. good news after all the party eating I did last week. Last night I tried again to work that stationary bike 'mindfully' but ... only a few minutes at a time. like interval training. Today it's another rainy day so no walk with my little white dog. Tomorrow I have early morning gym so I'll definitely take her out in the evening on Thursday. This is one wet summer.
Happy Hump Day everyone.
off to the y for a hour of water jogging, then a 45 min low impact water exercise class, followed by an new class I'm teaching at one of the senior citizen housing complexes called Rusty Hindges. Its a low impact class designed to increase strength, balance and flexiblity for the elderly. Should be fun, then its off to get the grandson from swimming and have in work on his fair projects. Maybe a bike ride tonight. Also sleep deprived this am as we had a wonderful thunderstorm hit about midnight and go for a about a hour, had trouble getting to sleep after that.
MOVING AND MAINTAINING. Yesterday is gone, let it go, tomorrow hasn't happened, don't long for it. Today is the present .........enjoy it
Toni, you are SO right. There is a certain aversion to colonoscopies, but I, too, have had a couple of friends lose there fight with colon cancer and currently have another friend going through it now. Unfortunately, the cancer metastisizes way too easy and too far without early detection. Such a horrible and painful way to day.
I'm kind of in the same boat as the rest of the team sleep wise. I did get 6 hours, but that is not enough for me. Stayed up to watch "Extreme Weight Loss" too and still had to get some reading done after that.
Went for a 5 mile run yesterday evening. It didn't do as well as the 5K this past weekend and the plantar faciitis pain is back. Hoping that some anti-inflammatories and some more PT get rid of the discomfort, but am getting worried about my ability to get back to training at this point. Scale showed 137 this morning - another whole pound down - we'll see if that stays. The best part is that I got into my BHWM size 4 this morning and even into a pair of Lucky Brand size 6 jeans. Rewarded myself with some new jeans from the Carson's Clearance Center yesterday. They were $18 pair (and I normally don't pay that much for a pair of jeans but they were so darned cute) so, I have some new motivation to keep at this, even if it means a change in the direction that my fitness is taking.

Got good health news from routine blood work and visit with doc. Nothing like great eating and consistent exercise to make a lipid panel smile. I know such things cannot all be controlled or taken for granted, but the good news felt well, like good news!
Another visit to the doc today in prep for a colonoscopy some weeks ahead, again routine. Such an important screening tool; such a challenging prep. But I can't complain as my last one was 10 years ago. I hope everyone who is of age to have one is planning to get one, or has had one. Life saving. Unfortunately I have seen two friends die of colon cancer and it's both a terrible death and avoidable.
But off my soap box! I hope everyone has a good day. I'm looking forward to some good time on my elliptical trainer and some good work hours today.
Go slow to go fast.
Maintaining since September 15, 2012
I'm right here with you.
Got about the same amount of sleep and I'm ready for the day. Weighed in at 133.2 so it's a good start. Today is my Friday and I have the next three off. So another plus.
Wishing all of you the best of days.

Good morning! Only 5.5 hrs of sleep last night--I'm not sure why. I watched that "Extreme Weight Loss" show on ABC last night until 9, which is past my 8:30 bedtime, switching to So You Think You Can Dance during commercials, while doing laundry. Kinda interesting.
This morning I'm headed to the gym for 30 min cardio, and 60 min RIPPED class. Yesterday I got extra walks in at noon (35 min) and after dinner (1 hr). Weight is at goal again today and LOGOULD I too have consistently weighed in at my low range for the last few weeks after having hovered up to 8 lbs over earlier this year. When my stress level is high, my body hangs on to weight even though nutrition and fitness is good. I'm glad I have less stress in my life right now.
I hope everyone has a great hump day!
