Workout first thing is working! I then walked a bit around town and am up to 8000 steps. May reach 10000 by bedtime, certainly 9000. Visited a friend, who treated me to ham, capuccino and 2 very tasty biscuits, and a small helping of ice cream. Pasta and sauce and zucchini on a bed of lettuce for lunch. Followed by melon. Really satisfied! tomorrow is day off. May do buffalo soup. Have the other half of my pasta ready to eat tomorrow... I need to get into the garden, ut feel disinclined....

Checking in! Doing well in the food and fitness realm. Not so meticulous on tracking online these last few weeks, but staying active and tracking calories in my journal.
122.2 today . . . appropriate for the 22nd. not to mention it's also my birthday!
Going to the fair tonight, temps are muggy, but mild and should be a good evening to walk around the fair and see old friends too. I'm giving myself a fair 'treat' -- for me, I'll skip the sweets and go for a fish sandwich from the Conservation Club food stand! (I love their fresh-but fried- fish!--and it's only once a year.) I had a 'lite' cucumber salad for lunch to balance the heavy stuff a little better.

Update! NO MORE Wiggle room on my weight! Still figuring out how to keep balance and stay in charge. Staying active but could step it up again.

I sort of gave up yesterday afternoon. We had lunch of sandwiches and chips on the boat and at dinner time it was hot and I felt lazy, so we had ramen noodles and fudge. No surprise that my weight is up this morning! Today is our 13th wedding anniversary, so we'll be going out to dinner. Back on track tomorrow!
I ran 2.5 miles this morning. My IT band is "complaining" a little, but not too bad. It's worth it!
I ran with my daughters and their pace is slower than mine, but I just stayed with the faster one. I did break a sweat, but it was pretty easy cardio wise. I did sprint at the end to help get my heart rate up. A nice walk before and after and some added stretches. I finished it up with some upper body work. Push ups, diamond push ups and some tricep dips.
Tonight I'll do abs, squats and burpees with my girls.

Mandy, thanks for sympathizing with me Saturday about MIL and the wine ;-) Glad you had a good run today, and thanks for the tip on freezing beans for later use. You, too, Oneweigh. I WAS on the verge of tears at one point in that commute from Hell.
Despite MIL's pretty much unannounced arrival dashing my plans for massive decluttering over the weekend, the days were still productive. I finished two major projects, one for my homeowners association and the other for our walking club. Last night I made a favorite dish: Southwest Turkey Stuffed Peppers. With the black beans and corn, they had a LOT of fiber and were so colorful and tasty! We dress them the same way we would fajitas, with guacamole (100-cal snack packs of Wholly Guacamole), salsa, cilantro, and hot sauce. Forgot to buy fat-free sour cream, but they were good without it.
Morning team! Four mile run this morning. It was beautiful and the run felt great. I spent some time yesterday cooking beans and putting them in the freezer for meals. It is a super inexpensive way to add protein and fiber to meals. Got the idea from budgetbytes.com. If you haven't checked it out, give it a look!

A massage - oh heavenly way to wind up a vacation. It's back to work for me too after my mini-vacation. Guests visited yesterday and my gf had lots to share about her new gluten free diet. I'm fortunate that I don't suffer from gf issues but I'm always interested in trying new recipes so I was glad to learn about this website: glutenfreegirl.com/a-guide-to-gluten -f ree-baking/
Ate very well yesterday after feeling like I was way overdoing it for the previous 3 days. Weight still the same though - so obviously I'm not doing too badly. And today - the gym - and aerobics plus strength. Yippee!
Sure agree that single motherhood is a challenge, Maree. I'm sure you lighten your daughter's load with all the love and support.
Up early and feel ready to start the week. Company coming in on Wednesday and meanwhile some household tasks to get done inbetween work sessions.
Feels like summer here every day both because my son is home (only a week more) for vacation and because we are eating so many healthy fresh foods. The plums and peaches astound me this year. Delicious.

The weekend flew by. DD is struggling with terrible twos and I feel a little helpless. It's a 2 hr drive and granddaughter will drop her baby etc and then insist mommy get it for her. Of course she can't reach it and can't console her. She recovers but single motherhood is a challenge. I need to determine some way to lend support.
We took a couple short walks yesterday and I was at high side calorie intake. Today I restrict nutrition and hit the gym for 30 min cardio and 60 min ST class.
