Hi All, I have been stressed about my Mom. My Brother keeps changing his mind about a day care for Mom. What is the best fit for her. I need some respite time. Everyone sounds so busy with fitness and fun! Nancy, if you have to move, I hope you will create an even better garden...sounds as if you are gifted with plants.
Really good yoga class this morning, except that the instructor wanted us to do head stands or at least head stand prep. She led us through the prep position then invited everyone to actually do the head stand if they felt so inclined. I have arthritis in my neck and have had a LOT of chiropractic help to ease pain, so I turned around thinking I would perhaps do a supported shoulder stand on blankets. What a surprise to see that the instructor had moved a piece of equipment close to my mat that is used for shoulder inversions! I had tried it before class started, but my back was very stiff, and I just couldn't get up. After all the stretching, it was no problem!
Spending the rest of the day staying cool and cranking through a long to-do list.

Good morning! Well, summer is officially here! Going to be 90 today and tomorrow (at least). Weigh-in this morning was back up to .25 pound over the center of range. I know that it was the sugar I had last night though. Still learning about this maintenance stuff, but the one thing I know for sure is that sugar or really any simple carb will instantly put weight on me. Going to stick with clean eating today and should be back under center range tomorrow.
Tomorrow starts "official" half-marathon training. This will be training for my fourth half, but they conduct training sessions and I am hoping to PR this one, so even though they start at "Oh my GOODNESS!" thirty on Sunday mornings, I am going to see about trying to keep up with the 11 min group.
Just got back from taking the cat to the vet, and got to get to work - closing tonight, so getting up at 4:30 is not going to be pleasant. Hope everyone else has a lovely first weekend of summer.

Summer just doesn't want to show up here and it's making me cranky! I am craving summer warmth and my little herb plants are struggling to grow with all the rain and cool temps. One more week of this according to the weather report.. oh groan!!!!!!!
I hope the rest of you are having summer fun and enjoying the outdoors, markets etc.
Hi! I'm back (sort of)...we had a wonderful vacation, but it's good to be home. I'm waiting until Monday to start tracking again. I'm also waiting a few days for post-vacation and welcome home Chinese food weight stabilization to tally the damage done by cruise ship food! I did step on the scale and I think it'll be about 3 pounds, but I'm hoping that I've still got some puffiness going on! I found I really missed being able to go to the market and buy fresh food--luckily the closest farmers market is on Fridays, so yesterday I was able to buy all I could carry! I'm really glad I didn't miss the local strawberries. Today we're going to Oregon for my cousin's 50th wedding anniversary. I see them rarely, so it's important to go, even though I really need to do laundry and clean up the wreakage that unpacking does to a house!
Yesterday was busy, but good. I indulged in too much cerveza last night, but I hadn't in a long time. My big brother is in town from Anchorage. Having dinner at my house tonight with him and some other family members. It will be nice.
I'm a little behind on my 1000 fitness minutes for the month so will have to stay focused to meet my goal. Need to get moving today.

Mornin! I'm hoping everything works out for the best for you guys Nancy.
I got in a good brisk walk at work yesterday then the day drained me. I listened to some Park People radio podcast on the way home and heard ~indygirl. I have been following her blogs for several months. Quite inspiring! Then I saw a license plate that read "psych up".
So I got in gear and went for a five-mile run. When I got home my Labrador was anxiously awaiting her walk so I changed into dry clothes and took her for her one-mile walk.
Going to relax a bit today, get major housework done since I'm on call and stuck in the house. Tomorrow DH and I plan a day of bicycle riding.
Oh Nancy - prayers that you can stay put are winging their way towards you.
Today I take my little girls back to their home. What a week we've had. Swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, hiking through the woods. We decorated tee shirts, made millefiore beads out of sculpy and watched 3 movies. Oh - and yes - we read books. And took lots of silly pictures with the iPad. And that's just the hours when we haven't been at work. This was an active week, even if I never got to the gym. Scales show me a little below my goal range.
Short run with hubby this a.m., then home to mow the lawn.
2 of our grandsons are coming over after lunch to join us at a special event at our local ice cream parlour. Thankfully, they have some fat free yogurt I can enjoy without guilt.
Hubby has been called back for a follow up interview on the Georgia job. My heart is breaking over having to leave my beautiful garden. Still praying he finds something local, but will do what it takes.
Interesting day yesterday! Horseback riding sounds great Bess! DH has been growing his hair (don't know exactly what inspired him to do so) but yesterday he got it cut and sent it off to donate to Locks of Love. So now he's about 35 lbs lighter and it's hard to take my eyes off of him :))). It was a family affair so granddaughter would recognize her Papa when the stylist finished!
The family is planning to run a 5K this morning in our local park, with the charity benefitting Big Brother Big Sister. Hope all you runners have a good run, too!
DH and DD cooked up a wonderful new recipe last night, spicey shrimp tacos. yummy!
