Trying to stay warm today! It's cold and raining and so dark outside! I almost put the fire on, but something told me to just bundle up a bit more and it is mid June afterall.. Maybe a session on my stationary bike will warm me up!

XRAYLADY, when I say "clean" eating, I mean lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and very lean protein and whole grains. No processed sugars, grains, and VERY limited to no saturated fats. I have friends who are MUCH stricter and they convinced re: the swelling and inflammation effects that sugars and most high glycemic index foods creat. Seems to be proving to be true in my experience.

Good morning all! Slept in a little this morning (not on purpose). Feels good though. Yesterday, I had a headache all day and I am still trying to adjust to the new phone. I am sure that I will love it once I get all my info entered in and adjusted, but in the meantime....

Totally forgot about an appt I had to run with some friends this AM, and now, need to get a bunch of chores done before going to work to close. Have finally gotten a little bit of the start of a habit of doing some/any ST in short bursts as I have the opportunity on days that I don't have a block of time to get in a run or a class etc.

Been eating clean(er) for the past few days and it is really showing on the scale. Only a tenth of a pound over the center of my goal range. Clean eating is really making a difference. As soon as I eat too much sugar or processed foods, even if the calorie intake is the same or lower than normal, my weight starts to climb. This really is a lifelong journey and it seems I am still learning!

Hope everyone has an awesome humpday!

Lynn, I agree about sleep. My goal this month is bedtime early enough to get at least six hours of sleep, since I usually average four to five on work nights. Doing good with sleep as a priority.

Bess, nothing like good chest-opening exercises, huh?

Good day again yesterday, even though DH wasn't home (my usual time to get into trouble). Calories and alcohol within limits, two cardio sessions (Zumba, which didn't feel like much of a workout, and walk-jog on treadmill), and ST.

Calories about 40-50 over limit - oh well. About 8000 steps. Despite the rain, and moving to a new place for the next 2 weeks.

Hey kids! happy hump day! Hope your husband is back to normal soon Maree. I am FINALLY starting to feel better from Sunday's gardening and SP 30 min total body workout!

Taking it easy this week, three more days till the Warrior Dash!

I took the dog for a walk and surprise DH came with us.YAY! Always nice to get him off the couch. Then we went out for ice cream and walked around the river walk area nearby. It was a great night!

I have a stressful day ahead but I'll muddle through. I am woman, hear me roar!

Go Blackhawks!

Good morning everyone - and happy hump day. Maree - hope your DH finally sees the light about baby steps - they're such a good tool. Lynn - it's really true - more sleep will curb your appetite and it does wonders for your skin and hair too. Congratulations on the downward movement, Nancy. Hugs to you Toni - just don't eat too many noodles. emoticon

Yesterday's strength training was all chest exercises. I felt it especially in the triangle between my shoulder joint and my sternum. I feel it in my arms this morning. The toughest one we do last where I like on the floor beneath a stabilized bar and do a reverse push-up. I pull myself up to the bar while remaining in a straight line, leaving only my heels on the floor. WHEW is all I can say. I try to pretend there's a fire beneath me so that I'll pull a little harder to get away from the flame. It's hard - but I love it.

Ate well. Also, I found that if I chop up a cup of mushrooms very small and mix it into my very lean ground venison - (or beef) I can make the driest of meats taste juicy. Not much mushroom flavor, but oh my - lots of tender juiciness in every bite. Himself, who has never liked venison but will eat it since it comes off the farm, loves these burgers.

Believe it
Do it
Become it

Good morning Nancy Toni and Maree.
It sounds like everyone got a great day in yesterday. Nancy, when you say no sugar is that carbs, tomato sauce etc? I am struggling with feeling hungry and eating too much for the last 4 weeks. i am up 2 pounds, and have been working out at least 6 days a week 90-120 minutes a day. Any thoughts?

I read a paper that not sleeping enough changes your leptin and ghrelin levels and makes you hungry. Since I usually get less than 6 hours a night, I was wondering if I am sabotaging myself by sleeping less to exercise more.

Have a great day.

Having a great week, being busy and super motivated. The weekends are more challenging, so I'm already trying to prepare for that - mentally and by pre-tracking.

Going to get some storms here, so I'm planning on using the exercise bike and elliptical today. I'd rather be outside, but it looks like I'll need to stay in.

I'm also hoping to get my desk cleared off - it's a mess of papers:(

Down another .5 today. I'm on my 4th day of no sugar. The cravings are not as strong today.

~Nancy

Good morning! And happy hump day!!

My 90 min at the gym today will be 30 min elliptical and 60 min RIPPED class.

Good day yesterday, tracked nutrition and was in range, Pilates instructor was back and had a good workout (feeling those walking lunges from Monday), still at goal weight. I peeked in on DH's class. It is an advanced premium class ( I refuse to pay extra!) and he is getting a30 day free trial. But it's extremely advanced for a brand new member. He is so sore. I think they are just trying to increase revenue not giving him a program that he can do on his own at no additional cost. We took a short walk last night and worked on the foam roller for deep tissue massage and other stretches. He is determined, luckily. I can see how new members would give up though. Pretty disappointing.

Hope everyone has a great day!!
