Ran a little late this morning and missed checking in. Worked from 8-5 (actually more like 6). Was supposed to meet up with a running buddy, but since we were both late getting out of work, postponed our longer run until later in the week when it is supposed to be cooler. Got chores done at home, yard work, dinner, dishes, garbage, etc and am getting to bed at a decent hour so that tomorrow I can do work from 8-5, race home and do a quick stir fry and then to "Hills and Drills" class if we aren't having severe storms. Looking forward to a semi-day off Thursday.

I did strength training this morning. I walked the dog and my foot hurts. Received a phone call that my pastor pasted away yesterday. I have a wake and funeral to attend this week. I have been using the Spark Solution book. It has too much food for me. Every meal is different I could never get bored. I like the recipes but I have to half them for me and Mom. The calories are too much for me. I work out more than the book. Linda from bean town

Day off. Planned to go up the mountain, but listened to my body when it said take it easy. I still put in 12000 steps, mainly walking round town, then twenty mins gardening. Binged on two large chocs this evening. My body said it needed them, so I hope I was right to trust it. Five vegs and five fruits. I make sure I get five vegs and let the fruit look after itself. Strawberries, cherries and melons are now in season. Peaches, apricots and plums still imported and moremexpensive than I am prepared to pay. One stall keeper in the market told memoff when I said I would wait for the price to come down. She told me I had a duty to buy then at that price as I could afford it!! She lost a customer. The boy I buy from if I dont go to the market quite agrees with me when I say I shall wait for the price to go down. So he has a regular customer who spends lots of money at shop!

I fell behind on checkins--I had a busy (active for sure) weekend, and I never took time to check in--got back to work on Monday, and it was busy too, so I still didn't check in--not this thread anyway--getting somewhat caught up today. I'm a few pounds under goal today, so I am on about day 5 in a row--(or something close to that) of not tracking my food, and it's working so well--better than I would have thought! School year is winding way down--done for the year about 10 AM on Friday after end of the year wrap up meeting!! Looking forward to an active and beautiful summer!

Quick check in...we went out to dinner and a movie last night so I am even behind in my tracking. Saw my rheumatologist and things are in a steady state, so he doesn't want to mess with lowering my prednisone dose until after my vacation, "just in case". On to work!

Yes, prayers to Oklahoma! I cried watching the news last night.

I did 30 sweaty minutes on the elliptical last night. We have a health challenge running at work through August, every month you get a card with things to do. I knocked off the interval elliptical training. Then I took the dog for a walk.

I'm back on track with my food after the weekend gluttany!

I too add my prayers for those who were tornado victims in the past few days. Today is a easy day with some gardening planned and maybe a bike ride. The first of the year so I'll take it easy. Still sore from yesterdays PT session. Looking forward to the long weekend where i'm going to spend it at a friends cabin fishing and relaxing.

MOVING AND MAINTAINING. Yesterday is gone, let it go, tomorrow hasn't happened, don't long for it. Today is the present .........enjoy it

Also lifting prayers for the tornado victims. So sad!

Here, I'm not off to a good day. I fell on the way to the office, hit my head pretty hard (glasses frames are hosed) and got pretty scraped up. A kind man from my bus stopped to help me get up, while a woman from the bus just walked by. I seem to be in working order, but my head and neck are pretty sore. I'll be heading to the office nurse when the clinic opens to get the head scrape cleaned up and decide if I should go home.

Adding my prayers for the people facing personal loss and devastation in Oklahoma.

I'm enjoying a few days at home to get my fitness routine going again and to make our food vs. navigating travel meals. I did okay while away, but it sure felt good to cook last night and eat asparagus and a meal I prepared on my own.

Bess, you are a hoot with your "light" workout. That's my goal today, to have a "light" by Bess' standards, workout. I'll be here tomorrow feeling like I accomplished a great deal!!

My thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the tornados in Oklahoma. Such a tragedy.

I am really struggling to get my eating in line with where it should be. I ate too much last week, and I am up 4 pounds. I am not sure how that is even possible. I think I am eating too many salty things. I have bumped up my exercise and already did 40 minutes on the treadmill. I have pilates later and then I think I will do more treadmill, or kickboxing.

I am making good food choices, just not getting portion control right.

I too send prayers to all who have been or are being hit by the tornadoes - and am thankful for the relative security of my own geography.

Yesterday was a dragging sort of day and I gave myself permission to do a light workout in the afternoon - and then laughed when I realized I defined a light workout as 45 minutes on the elliptical and 20 minutes of lifting 20 lb dumbbells. Yeah. I'd say there's been an attitude adjustment. Today is slated for only cardio though I may do a little leg strengthening too.

A vacation is drawing closer and closer. I decided to take a week off only about 2 weeks ago and we made one set of plans and then another. for the most part it will be a STAYcation - and I plan to do some serious house and garden work. But there will be art as well, and maybe a dash to visit cousins and for sure - a visit with my mama in the city.

It all starts on Thursday and I'm really ready for this.

Had a busy but fantastic day yesterday...ran six miles, got in several rows in the garden, took my granddaughters to the park, had a tea party...all on about 3 hours sleep!

Going to be exercising inside today because of the heat. Then working on more in the garden. Tomorrow is a shopping day, so I need to have my list ready to go!

Good morning! Prayers for all those in tornado alley. I can't even imagine how devastating this must feel and I'm feeling very grateful for my safe secure life right now.

Put me in the "excited for Memorial Day" group, my first holiday too. Houseboat bound! DD and granddaughter coming! Even more exciting is DH is on board with planning healthy meals, smoked salmon, fruit (instead of cookies) for sweet tooth), AND running (wants to go again after work today) and he's weighing himself on my WW scale! FINALLY! He plans to run with DD and me this weekend! This little granddaughter has inspired him to take care if himself for the long haul.

Kenny Chesney! Auuugh, --just bought his new CD to play at houseboat--songs about summer and boating make him a favorite of mine! Lucky girl!

Off to the gym for 30 min cardio and 60 min Pilates.
