Saturday I walked for about 4 hrs. intermittently. But, got in a good 30 min of steady walking and stayed good on the calories (about 1250). Friday, I went to Indy with my daughter who brought cheese, ham, and crackers for lunch and I had way too many crackers. I topped out at 1,600 calories. Not too bad for a 'free' calorie day. Today, was a cold and rainy stay inside sort of day. A walked out to the cabin and back was my only exercise so far. I plan on doing some crunches, squats, and weight lifting tonight.
Bess, I also have done prayerful walking (and prayerful driving) too. Somehow, there is not only a refreshment in my body from walking, but also in my spirit when I do this. In my opinion, it is an essential part of the healing and harmony of wellness for the whole body.

Update! NO MORE Wiggle room on my weight! Still figuring out how to keep balance and stay in charge. Staying active but could step it up again.

Good afternoon ladies! Went grocery shopping this morning and then headed to my home town (10 whole minutes away!) for a BBQ fundraiser for the volunteer fire department. Picked up mom and she went with us. It was nice. Have been doing 15 minute intervals of housework since we got home. Need to get some fitness minutes in sometime today. Maybe a run this evening?
I ordered the Les Mills Pump program yesterday and am super excited to get it. It is a barbell set with dvds. My 5 am boot camp class got cancelled a few months ago and I think this may be a great way to replace it.

Yesterday was beautiful and today promises to be just as nice. We spent most of the day on the boat with and experienced sailor to help out. I expect we'll go out again this afternoon without him, so I hope things go as smoothly! I didn't use heavy duty sunblock, so I'm red nosed and have some pink on my hands as well. I won't add to it today! But first to church, where we're singing a piece I really love. I actually stayed in caloric range yesterday, but it wasn't a great day nutritionally. Dinner was potato chips. I was able to post a loss for the week and enter the new challenge within range, but I'm still struggling.

Day 6 on track with my nutrition. 1 more day and that blip on my nutrition report will be history. Just finished my workout, 10 minutes HIIT, Ripped in 30 and my lower body. Tomorrow is my first rest day in forever! Taking two rest days this week! I need it.
Going shopping for my new spring/summer wardrobe today!!! Last time I shopped I was wearing a size 13 or 15. Now I'm thinking I'll be in the 1-3 range. Over 10 sizes lost! I can't believe it. Then maybe I'll take a walk in one of my brand new outfits and come home to lounge around the yard with the kids for the rest of the late afternoon. Maybe do a bit of gardening.
"Toning" is marketing muscles to women who are afraid if they pick up a barbell, they'll leave the gym looking like She-Hulk. It doesn't happen, what does happen is you get results. Lifting Barbie weights does nothing but waste time.

Headed out to do lighting for the services this morning - then, a quick run to the store for eggs (@ 88 cents) and then home to do the yard. Try to do some catch up on the abs challenge and/or a video and then getting to bed early for some quiet time and sleep to prepare for another busy week.

Waking up to these posts this Sunday morning. I appreciate the reminders to walk and be prayerful. Thinking particularly of your nephew, Michelle, and his family who must be so concerned. Like you Bess, I find peace and connection outdoors. How lovely your walk sounded. I'm glad you had such a day as you had yesterday.
My son is home and his stories continue to come to us. His finger, which was seriously injured on his trip, is healing. His injury and the ups and downs of a tough program really taught him about who he is. I am seeing someone more comfortable in his own skin, more directed and peaceful. Mother's Day isn't here yet, but I feel like I've already gotten my gift.

A prayer walk sound very peaceful and soothing. I hope all goes well with the doctor visit in Chicago. It's a beautiful day here. Hopefully they can enjoy a fun moment while they are here. I hope today is a successful church hunt.
I had a rough day at my cousin's memorial service but my kids were with me for support which meant the world to me.
I'm looking forward to a better week and my energy returning. I hope it is a positive day for everyone!
Cinco de Mayo! My brother takes his 5 year old to Chicago today for intensive testing to determine exact plan for brain surgery in a month to stop his seizures. He's had a severe seizure disorder since he was about 2. I'm awake early--again-- :) Beyond going to church at 8, I don't even know what is on my agenda today--it's a fly by the seat of the pants kind of day I guess. I should throw on some clothes, and take a walk and spend some time in prayer myself... Happy Sunday!

Had the absolutely best day yesterday. A rare day all alone with nobody to adapt to. No job, no public and no family demands. What bliss. Got in a fabulous workout at the gym - a rare Saturday treat in itself - and then home to putter and clean house all day, cuddle with my little healing dog who is still confined to her crate most of the day, and take a sweet afternoon walk with my other dog down the lane, out to the mile point and home through the woods. About half way through I remembered an article I read about walking when you are 50+. The author said that one should try a Prayerful Walk. The moment I read it it resonated deep within so as I went home down the rim path (that's what we call the path through the north woods) I opened myself up to prayer and boy - that author was right.
I often pray as I walk. There's a spot along the lane that even my friends and family now refer to as Bess' Praying Place. But usually I pray and walk because I'm inspired to. I'm going to try deliberate prayer now and then as well. what a splendid feeling it gives.
