Spending some time on SparkPeople tonight to keep me out of the kitchen. The WORST thing I can possibly do to kill time after the kids go to sleep is go on Pinterest and be tempted by all the sweets. I most likely don't have the ingredients to make any of the recipes, but it makes me hungry and I have to fight the urge to make bad decisions.
Our days of beautiful weather are numbered I'm afraid, and it's heating up fast. After tomorrow we're expected to be over 100 degrees every day in the 10 day forecast and it's only April! Needless to say, I'm not looking forward to July

Checking in late today. I don't know where my energy has gone. It was a glorious day outside and the only time I got out at work was a morning stroll to Starbucks for some much needed additional caffeine. I've been dragging since I crawled out of bed this morning. I even dreamed I got up and got ready for work only to realize it was only 4 am, so (in my dream) I just laid down on the kitchen floor because I was too tired to go back to bed! So tired I'm dreaming I'm tired, that's bad! On a more positive note: one thing about living in a place where it rains a lot, when the sun does come out people are so HAPPY!

Took my doggie to the Veterinarian and he got his rabies shot. I walked him four times for 30 minutes each. I am beat. I took Mom to look at an Adult Day Program. I filled out paper work and I may be put on a waiting list. Best wishes, Linda from bean town

I have been lurking here for awhile but will be officially joining maintainers on 5/1--decided to set that date as my official date. I have been "stuck" for awhile and decided that I AM at a healthy weight and this MAY BE where my body wants to be. So--150 (or maybe 149 or 148--depends on the day) will be my new goal weight--instead of trying for the 145. We'll see where I settle--as long as 150 is the highest!

Good Morning everyone!
I've been waking up really early the past few days now that the amitriptyline is out of my system. Too early though 5am! So, I've been getting up and doing a bit of yoga on the bathroom floor so I don't wake up my sleeping husband and dogs..
It feels great and helps start the day off right. My body has been sorer, but I'm working on it!!!
I'm going to try and go to bed later to see if that will help me sleep in to at least 6am. The hard part will be trying to stay awake past 10pm!!

Good morning team! Got up early this morning and did a jillian michaels strength training dvd. Weight is back down after a higher number on Monday. I had skipped my early morning run yesterday so I did it after dinner, kids' homework, baths, etc. I'm generally exhausted by then, but it was so beautiful outside and my run felt amazing!
I have to get some of this work cleared off of my desk today. I keep getting caught up on one project as the others pile up. It is really dragging me down.

Sooo busy lately... I've been hiking a lot this last week. My legs are still dead. I'd consider myself pretty fit but I haven't been walking all winter so maybe it's just because it's a different type of exercise? Or maybe just a new activity on top of my regular exercise.
Anyways, did my cardio (had to give a rest to my lower body again) and lots of baking ( I followed a different recipe for black bean brownies and I made lemon poppy seed muffins, I haven't even had mine yet and they're almost gone already... a hit with my kids and husband), meal prepping and cleaning yesterday. Today more cleaning and meal prepping. Got to take a walk to the grocery store later today with the kids. Going to be another super busy morning and afternoon. Doing my full grocery trip tomorrow, ugh. Have to get everything ready for my step daughter's weekend and going to my inlaws on Saturday. That way I can let my hair down a bit and enjoy time with my family.
Suppose to be a lovely weekend, hope it is where you all are. Enjoy!

I can bench Nicole Richie, eat more than she does in a day before noon, I have a good 20 lbs on her but could still wear her pants.

Sunshine is in the forecast again today. 2 days in a row. That hasn't happened in a long time.
Hoping to get down to the lake for a walk/run this afternoon. Depends on how I feel. Have errands to run this morning.

Good morning teammates. I'm off to my conference today - the one where we eat monumental meals, then sit for 4 hours till the next gargantuan meal. I'll be with a group of colleagues so there will be exited vigorous conversation around the heaping platters.
But I have a plan! Actually, I have a plan and a half.
I am NOT going to restrict myself. I am going to eat anything and everything I want.
I have to actually want it. So I have to ask myself before EACH AND EVERY bite, "Do I want this? will I taste it? Is it going to be what I want?"
If the answer is yes I'll take that bite. If the answer is not a definitive "YES" then I won't eat it. No unwanted food will pass my lips.
That's the plan. The half a plan is that I am considering standing through some of these loooooooooong sessions. I'll claim a seat because I'll certainly need a chair some of the time - but I will slip out and go to the back of the room to stand through some of it.

Good Morning. I got in 35 minutes on my stationary bike this morning before work and then zumba later tonight. I listened to an interesting obesity lecture. The physician lecturer discussed how biologically active fat is and how neurohormones are released to keep your weight stable. Eating snacks like chips and soda causes weight gain greater than the actual calories you consume, because the body fights to keep a higher weight and makes you experience hunger. Interesting. One thing I learned is that the only thing that keeps you from backsliding is to be obsessive about what you eat and how much exercise you do.
So my goal is to stay obsessive, and track consistently. Lynn

Morning all! Saw another movement on the scale this morning - for once it was quite a bit lower than I had imagined. Will probably see it swing back tomorrow, but for today - WOOHOO! Working 7-4 today and then Adventure run right after that. Most likely fall into bed in time to get about 7-7:30 hours sleep and do it all again tomorrow except that I will meet with my favorite running buddy after work. Baby sis is coming in this weekend, so maybe a chance to sleep in a bit on Saturday before a 2-close (11) and back up for a LSD Sun AM before church.

Morning all! Yes it's good to get outside again. The weather is promising a nice day for the charity 5K I'm doing Saturday morning. Thank goodness after the last two wet, frigid runs I did.

Good morning! April 25--isn't it amazing how fast this month has gone by when all those winter months (Jan./Feb.) just drug on and on. I love hearing how everyone is enjoying getting outside to run, walk, garden, sail, canoe, dragonboat (I need to look that up!), bike, swim, shop, worship, explore new bakeries, restaurants, herbal pain remedies. It seems like we're all "in bloom"!! I have to tell you, when I walked in my office yesterday morning, it smelled like a flower garden with all the roses opening, the lillies -- talk about stopping to smell the roses!! DD coaxed me home early to take a long walk in the sunshine; so nice, but heavy workload looms so will have to make this up over the next few days. She and the babe leave this morning.
My normal Thursday walk will be replaced by 30 min cardio and 60 min either cyclefit class or pilates (haven't decided yet), because my fitness buddy is gone on vacation.
Nutrition must be reigned in now that celebrations are over. Looking forward to getting back to routine.
