Late check in...just came from Yoga/Spin class and ate a giant omelette with swiss chard from the garden...well within my nutritional range and oh so good! Gearing up for my work road trip tomorrow. It is supposed to be sunny so should be good!!

No time to be bored today. Made some urgent calls, had other calls, had a visitor, the nurse came, my insurance came out to put the spare on my car as when I got home I had a flat and the tire is ruined, a good friend came to bring me lunch and it was so good. She went down and picked up my mail also. I am still below goal but have a lot of swelling. Irene

It was a great day sunshine and cool 40s to 50s. Today at the Boston Marathon an explosion was set off and two people died. Many other people have trauma and were rushed to the Mass General Hospital. All the buildings are closing and the Marathon was called off and rerouted. Please send your prayer to all injured and to the families of the deceased. Linda from bean town

Tax day in Canada is April 30, but mine are long filed and lucky us.. we got a refund this year.. Ouch to those you who have to pay..
I had a good day yesterday, got the extra rest I needed and did get in my exercise time also..

Ah Monday. I grabbed my lunch bag this morning, forgetting that it only held two apples and a container of left-over soup for breakfast. The frozen entree I intended to have for lunch is still in the freezer. Not sure yet whether I'll buy my lunch or just eat my two apples drink lots of water. Our taxes are long filed and paid for. We got an unexpected whammy with them which we hope to avoid next year. I remind myself that you have to make money to pay taxes, so it's a good thing to have to pay more than expected...right? Did OK on food this weekend. Time for work!

Had a good day yesterday - starting with a cool, but lovely run, then church....oh, almost forgot the nightmare of shopping on a SUNDAY (note to self, DO NOT shop on Sunday if at all possible). Mad big tossed salad, w/fat free creamy Ceasar drsng and baked potatoes w/ red. fat cheese and turkey bacon and greek yogurt instead of sour cream and steaks and roasted parmesean cauliflower. Even after all that (smaller portions of all but the veggies and learning to cook lighter versions....I managed to stay in range for all of my nutrients! I don't eat like that often, but it's nice to be able to on occasion! Today is my day off for the week and it seems everyday between now and the race on Sunday, I have work and another activity to balance, so I have lots of prep work to get done...so, off the computer and to work!

Rattlesnake tasted yummy. Rock climbing was great exercize yesterday. It was really hard. We got some color lying by the pool and walking around Rawhide. Today we are headed to a gold mine ghost town. The kids love their new hats and toy guns and enjoyed panning for gold as well as riding the burros. I loved watching my daughter Olivia accidentally throw her slushie during the funny gun fight show. The shots were startling, Happy Monday making memories :)

Happy tax day! I'm pleased to say that I am not filing an extension this year. I already have my tax return filed. Not as good as some of my teammates to have my check in the mail, but I'm working on it.
DH and I spent the majority of the day yesterday not speaking or looking at each other. That is always a drain on my energy. I got up early this morning and ran outside in the dark. My mother-in-law bought me a super-cool, high-visibility running jacket for my birthday this year and I need to get some more use out of it. It was so exhilarating to be out in the cool air.

Can't say I'm particularly excited about this Monday, but I figure whatever happens today will happen, and I can either face it with confidence or with anxiety; my approach could change the end results, but won't change the chain reaction that has already started. (Without going into details, it's something work related that I'm not particularly interested in facing, today or any day, but there's no way around it.)
Anyway, about to do some ST and eat breakfast. The wind here today guarantees that my gym buddies and I will be indoors today. I'm debating doing a stationary bike today instead of the treadmill because my foot is still a little sore from this weekend.

Had a very ugly weekend in terms of eating, but I was at a family gathering for MIL's 80th birthday, so I just decided to roll with it. The scale shouted at me this morning that I HAD to get back to basics.

Toni, I hope you feel better. Bess, ouch I am sorry about your poor dog.
I got cardio and ST in yesterday. Unfortunately no zumba class, so I couldn't really bump it up. I did really well with food choices until the evening, when I had some pita chips. I need to keep that stuff out of my house. I bought it for my kids (who am I kidding). So lesson learned no more pita chips. I will add those to potato chips and corn chips. Those are my red flag foods. I am up today, but I had a high sodium dinner, so I think drinking water will take care of that. Have a good day. Lynn

Good morning. I was really sick and immobile yesterday. I think I got food poisoning at an event on Saturday. Ugh. I may have hit 800 calories yesterday and unless not moving on a sofa qualifies, no workout. I do feel better today and am on the mend. Whew. So crazy when you feel so healthy to be whacked by a sudden "something."
Poor baby dog, Bess. I hope it's not another break. Always wish animals could talk when they are hurting so we could figure it out.
Your Monday/week sounds daunting, Kellie, and Maree, your awareness that whatever we put in our mouths to ease stress doesn 't work sure runs true for me too. We gotta be doing better with that or we'd be gaining old weight, but still. You remind me how "work in progress" applies to maintenance. Hope your floors are looking well! Always love getting a big project like that out of the way.

Monday Monday - can't trust that day - when it's Monday April 15. LOL. Got my taxes done too - but by professionals (ask me what it's like to get audited). All I have to do is mail the checks - which I shall do on my way in to work.
Ate alright over the weekend but got very little exercise in. Looks like my little dog, who just got the pins out of her broken leg on Friday - has broken it again. Not only too depressed to workout much, I wanted to stay near her most of the day to keep her quiet. She wanted to lie with her head in my lap for hours. (another sign that something is wrong)
We will be the first at the vets office this morning. all healing prayers welcome. Here's the story of how it all started. sigh.

Good morning. Okay, here it is, tax day. I finished mine last night, wrote out all the checks and had an emotional binge on cookies while doing so. I'm not proud of that; it never made it "better". It's a stress-filled week at work with deadlines and I spent the weekend watching my granddaughter while my DH and DD worked on the new flooring, instead of working. I'm hoping I don't regret that decision, but I could always work 24/7 and I need balance. Somehow it will get done; it always does.
We went for a nice bike ride in the beautiful weather yesterday. Now I am headed to the gym for 30 min cardio and 60 min ST class.
