Such a wonderful day -- I am with my grand kids today (Mom & Dad's Anniversary) we have had quite a day. Coloring, watching videos, and earlier we went for about a 2 mile walk--all of us. Seems I have spent half the day fixing food/washing dishes/fixing food/washing dishes. Thank God for paper plates and dishwashers that help with the overload.
Didn't quite stay on track with eating today - - - I started out good and had a salad and two pieces of lean ham, a little trail mix and then the kids wanted pizza rolls (already on hand) and I succumbed to temptation (420 calories for 12, and yes, I had 12). But, I usually plan for some discretion when I come here---I am just like a kid---food is always better at other peoples houses and I have free reign of the food supply when I babysit. This could be harmful to my health if I did it very much . . . Nah, nothing could be better than a day with my family even if it means a (small) sacrifice to the food god. ha! ha!
Time for some more videos --- EXERCISE videos tonight. Come on kids let get going . . .

Update! NO MORE Wiggle room on my weight! Still figuring out how to keep balance and stay in charge. Staying active but could step it up again.

Hi, I walked my little doggie four times today. I washed the floor in my Mom's bedroom and dusted almost all for the furniture in her bedroom. It is clean. I am going to try to clean and wash the floor in my bedroom tomorrow. I took Mom out grocery shopping this morning but forgot a couple of times. Best wishes on a great day. Linda from bean town

Great day today. Lots of rain last night and awoke to clouds and more rain this morning. But I saw a patch of blue just at the horizon so decided to hold off walking in case the sun came out. It did....talked a friend into meeting for a brief walk and added to my challenge by walking to and from my walk with her which gave me total of 9 kms today in the sunshine!!! It felt great although my knees feel it! My first pilates class yesterday felt good. I think it will be a good fit with my yoga and spin classes...want to be focusing on my core and feeling strong. Life is good!!
Celia, I saw my first gray hairs when I was still a teenager. I colored my hair through my 20's, and I decided when I was about 36 that it would be a good idea to see what color my hair really was! I let the roots grow out as long as I could stand (about an inch) and then got a buzz cut! As my hair started to grow out, people kept saying, "I love your hair!" They thought I'd had it highlighted, because of the way the gray was coming in. Now I'm almost completely gray (still some renegade brown underneath) and it's nice not to be a slave to the (dye) bottle! Still, I got lucky--I have "good gray". You either do or you don't. If I didn't like my gray I'd dye it in a heartbeat, but you might give going natural a try. You might like it and if you don't, you can always go back to coloring it!

So glad for the weekend, but I didn't expect to spend most of Saturday at the salon. Everyone is booked solid and running behind. My hair stylist got talked into working someone in, so I (the one who planned ahead and actually had an appointment) got shunted off to someone else for my color. Maybe it's time to follow Pat's example and let it go gray.
We grabbed a break in the weather and got the sailboat back to the marina from the boatyard last evening. It started to rain along the way and by the time we were done I was soaked and cold. We went out to dinner and I had pork ribs and a hot toddy. I shouldn't be surprised that my weight is up when I do that, but it was good. The sun is out momentarily but the forecast is for intermittent thunderstorms so I'm glad we got the boat moved yesterday. Happy weekend!

Nutrition and fitness not quite where I would have liked them this past week, but, still better than they have been. Couple of sugar binges that I am still working to control. Just looking at trying to be a LITTLE more diligent everyday. No movement to speak of on the scale. Kind of up and down, but at least still pretty steady from week to week, month to month. Thinking about re-evaluating my weight goal, but want to give myself through the summer months and see if I can't still shoot for under 140. Age may be taking it's toll though!

Calories at low end of range, walked 9000+ steps, and am packed for our train trek north tomorrow - plus I insisted on some healthy food options, instead of DH's plan of junk food for 3 days. (Light cheese, whole grain bread, fruit - stuff like that.)
Friday is my day off from serious exercise ... but I didn't think it'd be THAT much off - spent the whole day working with technology - upgrading all the laptops in the computer lab in time for a class that someone on my staff is teaching today. Poor me. Not. I love technology - it's just that upgrades are tedious.
Today I've already taken the puppy out for a 2 mile walk - and today is push-up day too. two sets of 12 but trying to go a little deeper. Then it's Saturday housecleaning - which is always good for some exercise. Especially now that Himself has gotten all his sailboat stuff out of the living room - and foyer - and bedroom. Since Only Son and Heir is visiting for the weekend we had beef curry for dinner but tonight he's going to get one of our favorite vegan dinners. We are vegan about 75% of our meals.
Glorious sunshine today but a cold wind out of the north still holds some frost in it. Tomorrow the weather dot com guys are promising a true spring day. Yippeee! I can wear my pretty clothes next week. Goodbye corduroy.

P. S. Toni - I live in the country along the river. If we canoe across to The Island and walk a couple of miles we come to a spot along the riverbank where there's an ancient commercial gum ball machine. It's such a surprise to discover, surrounded by weeds and marsh weeds leaning against a tree.

Morning all! I know I definitely had a great day yesterday. I got 2 massages and an acupuncture session, as well as a delicious and healthy lunch, all for free compliments of my work. It was also nice to socialize with some of my co-workers while we were waiting for massages and such. I felt so relaxed when I was done that I could barely do anything! haha I slept long and deep, and feel very refreshed this morning.
I'm about to do some cardio with Coach Nicole and eat breakfast before going to a professional group with a couple of colleagues, followed by grocery shopping with a friend. Gotta do some menu planning for the week!
Started my morning with a walk--to McDonalds and back (only got a coffee :) Chatted with the "coffee fellas" up there. Apparently young (hot;-)women (40 is young, right??) create a bit of a sensation with them. When I synched my ActiveLink this morning--I discovered I ended up earning 3 points yesterday instead of the 2 that I thought I had :) Aiming for at least that again today--lots of things to do at home-inside and out. Band solo ensemble for my 15 YO son this morning after 10 though--and the cupcakes I made for their little bake sale will be out of my house, and I'll have to buy one if I want to indulge later:) Have a great day! 5k for local Gilda's Club tomorrow morning!

Hellooooooo all and Happy Saturday to ya! Looks like everyone had a positive day yesterday. Strength training breakthroughs are fantastic. I'm a big fan of yoga. I have really increased my balance, stamina and strength since I started myself.
And hello, wood splitting?! That is hard core. Excellent way to torch calories!
I had a successful meeting yesterday that I was really nervous about, got home early and went for a great run in the sunshine. DH said our lab was crying the whole time I was gone, she hates waiting till I'm done running to get her walk.
I haven't decided what to do today. I want to spend some time reading but I'm thinking a long walk (in addition to walking the lab who is pacing and whining as I type) and then maybe the elliptical.
Happy Saturday, team. It's going to be a pretty day in VA. Yay! Gardened yesterday and then took a long walk. Today my husband and I are heading out for lunch and to visit an antique store we heard about from friends. Nice break in routine. Truth is, he wants a gum ball machine (-: He says this is for a gift, but I am not so sure. He does love a good gum ball.
