Good morning, a bad tooth is restricting how I eat. have to eat slowly and chew on one side if my mouth! Yesterday I went to the dentist. He thinks I had an abscess under my tooth, so I am on a course of anti biotics now, hoping they cure the problem, I am big coward re dentists almost a phobia. It's sill very cold weather here in UK a biting cold wind. Have a a good day Irene

You are right it takes more time to lose than to gain in my case also. I ate cake last weekend for my Mom's birthday. I also dined out and ate more than I would if I was home. I need to be more careful and eat less. I did more exercise by washing the floors at home. I also walked the doggie. Best wishes, Linda from bean town

Isn't it awful how weight comes on so quickly and leaves so slowly! My body told me in no uncertain terms that it objected to my overeating, so today I'm eating light to give it a chance to recover a bit. I was thinking this morning that I have about two and a half months before vacation to get down below "goal weight" as I think it's inevitable I'm going to pick up a few pounds on a cruise.

I dislike spring. Yesterday I dressed my daughter in faux fur and she was too hot. Today I dress her in a denim coat and it's cold enough for snow, just can't win here. Picked up a cd of my kids easter pictures from the mall today as well as had my shellac polished changed at a local place. After paying for it I realized it would've been cheaper at the mall. I will know better next time. Anyways just made super simple crock pot beef stew added some corn and carrots. Smells delicious and looking forward to trying it tonight for dinner.

I'm back after a few days away from the computer. Had a great Easter with my family and, gulp, I overate BIG time! Had 4 small pieces of candy and a helping of apple crisp on Sunday (and some ham, deviled eggs, a roll and mashed potatoes), but was able to do some major hiking about 5 miles+/- with some intervals of jogging and later some weights and floor exercises when I got home. My whole body hurt when I went to bed--but the achy feeling was gone by the next day. The scales have went up 5 lbs.
--funny (or not) how that works . . . I over eat on one day (I calculated just over 2000 cal.) and gain FIVE lbs.!!!!! I know some of it must be water weight (from the salty ham and junk food) but it sure sends out the alarm loud and clear how fast the weight can return if / when we let our guard down. I can't do that very often!!!

Started my day with "Rise and Shine Yoga" and feel great!! Just getting ready to transition to the maintenance stage with 1 more pound to lose so thought I'd explore what it takes and how to prep. I am not inclined to want to give up the nutrition or fiootness tracker as they have really helped me stay conscious of my habits and on track. Onward and upwards I say!!!

Sore today - I had Airrosti therapy yesterday, so my right leg is all bruised up, but at least my knee is facing forward again. I managed to get in a 2.25-mile walk this morning, and some strength training, and tonight I'm supposed to go to my first ballroom dancing lesson with my husband - yay!

The rainy cooler weather arrived 3 days earlier than originally forecast, but the whole Easter weekend was really sunny and above average temps.. It was soooo nice. But as the old saying goes.. April showers bring May flowers..
I've got a busy (for me) week ahead, but compared to the rest of you, my days are pretty darned slow, but I need that to manage my arthritis..

I was on my way to finishing the day inside my calorie range but decided on one last glass of wine, which lowered my resistance to cravings. You'd think I would learn. So I blew it right at the end of the day. Thank goodness I was on track the rest of the day. Working to be better today.

Morning everyone! I'm about to do some cardio and eat breakfast. I was able to go to the gym after work yesterday, though it was not for as long as I wanted. Still, I was able to keep a decent incline the entire time - it was intense, but I can tell my endurance is increasing. Tonight I'm doing Taebo at home. Even though I'm just coming off of a vacation of sorts, I feel like I'm jumping head first back into my responsibilities both at work and in my personal life, and it's feeling pretty good. We too have some cold weather. I took a walk rather than a run around the lake yesterday and there was a bitterly cold wind. it felt more like Feb. not April. Another breezy day today, but it shoudn't be quite as cold. I will attempt the run today. Otherwise I will have to get on the treadmill which I'm trying to avoid. I need the outdoor running to clear my head and get ready for an 8k this Sunday.

Good morning, team. Everyone is "busting out the gate" on fire this morning! I'm starting slowly, but looking forward to some ST and elliptical. Bessie, that vegan dish sounded wonderful and satisfying.
Our son who is at National Outdoor Leadership School in Utah called us from an ER last night. He has squashed a finger in some heavy equipment. We feared surgery, but turns out nothing was broken or cut. His hand will require physical therapy eventually, but he ought to be fine. It curtails some fun stuff (white water canoeing and maybe climbing, depending on how quickly he heals) but he can stay to finish the semester (another month) and keep learning the wilderness leadership and outdoor skills he loves so much. It's a loss, but we are so grateful he is okay and able to finish. Like in any adventure detours teach us things, just not what we expected. I am hoping he has some satisfying experiences ahead in spite of this set back.

Mornin all! Dogs are great for getting us moving for sure! Last night after yoga, my lab REALLY wanted to go for a walk! Since it was getting dark I didn't want to take the time to change, just threw on another jacket and took off. OY VEY it was cold out. I still had my short yoga pants on. BRRRR
I was up WAY too early. DH can't seem to sleep past 4am these days and he's not exactly quiiet when he gets up. I am extremely grumpy. Need to lose that today!
I meet with the trainer tonight. I can take out my frustrations with ST!

Bess - I make a dish really similar to that that I found here on sparkpeople, but it has noodles instead of rice. The girls don't care for rice. Sometimes I will trick them and tell them that its couscous and they will eat it
Had a great day yesterday. Up early for strength training with Jillian Michaels. I bought her Body Revolution set last year and still use the dvds here and there. They are great. Have a lunch meeting today, so not sure what the meal will be. Will do my best to load up on veggies and make good choices.
Supposed to be cold and wet here today and possibly snow some. Oh well, going to be 80 this weekend! Ha!

Feeling pretty good about getting right back on track and not to bad off after the Easter "egg"stravaganza. Back to work today and hitting the gym on the way home. Same plan for tomorrow and then Thurs (day off) gym in the AM and long run - hopefully 7-8 miles, in the evening. Didn't get the veggies prepped yesterday, so that is the plan for tonight when I get back from the gym.

Good morning team. Maree - aren't dogs super for getting us off the couch? I'll be taking my puppy out in a bit for some girl bonding. Himself is retired and gets to spend all day with her. I want in on the action. LOL.
After blogging yesterday about my missing chocolate Easter bunny, I hit the sale table and bought myself a small one. It's waiting till after my lunchtime weigh-in today, when I will break it into 4 pieces and indulge - and share the rest with my co-workers. Oddly enough - buying it may have been enough to stop the craving, and if it is .... I'll give the whole thing away.
Resurrected for dinner a favorite vegan dish from last fall - Cannellini beans, Onions, spinach and Mushrooms, sauteed with some diced tomatoes and seasoning - over rice. We love it and it's only about 6 points or 300 calories and packed with fiber. Yum.
and had a whopper of a workout at the gym. Did 2 sets of 12 push-ups. my push-ups are still not as deep as I want them to be but they'll get there one day. And when I can do 2 sets of 25 push-ups - I get to go to the beach with my girlfriend and stay overnight. These are straight legged push-ups, not modified ones. Great core workout with minimal stress on the lumbar.

Good morning! Alarm is set for 4 am and I've been waking just minutes before it goes off. Yaaay! Great day yesterday-- tracked all nutrition and met goals, took an extra walk after dinner with the puppy dogs while the sun was shining. Cold still but forecast is hopeful.
Today is 30 min treadmill and 60 min Pilates this morning, a walk at lunch 35 min, and hopefully another walk with puppy dogs after dinner for 30 min. I'm trying to improve stamina of our lab who turns 10 in May. We love him so but know he's in old age as he is 110 lbs. Jonie keeps him young, our golden retriever/Australian Shepard mix (57 lbs) rescue. Plus the extra walk doesn't hurt their owner either!!
