There is Spring in the air again today--nearing 60 and may rain! But, love the more temperate weather---I just LOVE Spring. What can I say?
Going for a hike at the wildlife refuge (almost next door to my neighborhood) later today.
I need to make up for my eating discretion on Saturday . . .
Not horrible, but need to keep mindful that I can only get by with it a day or two a month -- yesterday was one of those days. Started off good, egg and veggie omelet for breakfast . . . then went to my daughters to help her pack for her move and they had just ordered pizza and bread sticks. I ate 4 (smaller square size) pieces and 2 bread sticks (that is a whole day's worth of calories just by itself). Then, a few hours later hubby stopped by and offered to take us out for dinner. Of course, I never turn down a dinner date with hubby and family. So we went and I did reasonably well at the restaurant, but should have passed on the biscuit and fried okra. Add that to the pizza meal and breakfast and the number climb. Then, there is the routine eating habit of a midnight snack -- not a must, but a habit and I caved and ate fat-free pretzels and some fruit. Altogether, I had about 2300 calories which is too much for my activity level. Fortunately, packing keeps you on your feet and moving -- so that probably helped. Thankfully, temptation and overeating hasn't been too common since the holidays and I have been on track for several weeks with no big tempting days like yesterday. All is good!
Anticipating another day next weekend like this weekend, so I will need to do double diligence to stay on track this week . . . AND more EXERCISE (--affirming self-talk)
Wiggle room on my weight! Getting consistent with exercise tipped the scales . . . in a good way~just don't think I need to lose any more--just get firm and fit!
