I'm pretty consistent at both home and work. Neither one has a greater impact on me.

Definitely at work because I bring my own food. It's also nice that my work has many healthy choices in the new cafeteria so if I'm out of salad fixings at home I can go get decent food.

Usually at work... if clients aren't trying to force food on me. Had one give me a mini bun slathered in butter - really how do you politely say ew I'm not eating that lol. Ruined the days calories for me :( Happily that doesn't happen often! All that goes with me is a coffee, protein shake, either an orange or apple and water. I'm in my car and clients homes for work so no temptations for the most part!

I eat better at work, because I bring my snacks with me, and I keep a drawer with lunch items, such as tuna and soup. Occasionally, I get a salad from the grocery store or a piece of rotisserie chicken to bring back to my desk, but I go out to eat only when I feel obligated by a special occasion (retirement, farewell, etc.) At home it's too easy for me to pull out the chips and see the bottom of the bag before I know it.

Better at work for me. There just isn't a lot of food there. My coworkers will bring up candy and other treats, and always offer it to me. That is good for moderation because I don't want to eat all their food! I recently brought up some fruit, because I always seem to want something sweet in the afternoon.

TinaJane, I'm a teacher, too. I am allowed to have a small fridge and a microwave in my classroom. (I teach special education and we cook in our room to teach the kids life skills.) However, I know almost every teacher has a small fridge in their room or we have a "normal" fridge and microwave in the teachers lounge. Your school needs to get with "it!"
Maybe that should be brought up. It could be a part of your schools Wellness Program. I know our district is big on wellness right now with challenges of exercise and eating well. It's actually statewide and their are "rewards" of gift cards, books, t-shirts, etc.
Great job sticking with your healthy eating, even when it's not easy to do!!

Work is by far under WAY more control than eating at home where others may have foods (esp. high-processed carbie foods!) around that can be tempting. At work I keep a good stockpile of freggies that help me stay on track. Plus many at work look to me as a role model...which helps me also to stay on track.

Work. I pack my breakfast and lunch and rarely get anything else. My eating times are also set. At home I've got more options and I'm more likely to eat irregularly--going to long and then eating either too much or something that wasn't satisfying, so I go looking for more.

I am taking care of my Mom and not working right now. I have worked in the past and ate better at home. People at work brought in food or we had office parties. It was too tempting and I had to try some. Best wishes, Linda from bean town

I pack my lunch and snacks to take to work, and think I watch the clock and eat when it's "time" (10:30 snack, noon lunch, 3:00 snack), unless I'm completely engaged or rushing to finish a deadline, in which case I'm usually not even hungry. At home on weekends, I don't watch the clock for my cues to eat; I usually respond to hunger UNLESS of course, I'm bored and grazing. So, no clear answer from me, I guess. Interesting question and good to reflect. I know, I need to STOP working and see if I eat better at home. :)) LOL--- that's not gonna happen.:((

Yup Nell you guessed correctly it is amazing I have check people out who had nothing but junk food the total for the order was over 200 bucks I was amazed! The reason for it she told me the kids where really good so she was treating them. Now I can think of better ways to spend that money on a treat.

Linda, if it's Walmart, then yes, there is a LOT of junk food there. They sell it because people want to buy it. I am a Walmart regular and am always amazed at what people pile into their carts.

Most definitely better at home at work I have gotten into bad habit of every break to eat something and yup sometimes I skip what I packed and hit the vending machine. Too much junk food at work I work at a major retailer of the world

I'd say I eat less at work, but better at home. I'm a teacher and don't have access to any cooking or refrigeration at work, so I can only pack things that are easily portable and that don't require heating up or keeping cool. Fortunately, my workday usually begins after lunchtime, so I just pack snacks like fruit. When I'm at home, I eat proper well-rounded meals that are made and eaten with much more care.

For the most part, I do "better" at work. My lunch and snacks are packed, so there is not too much room for deviation. At home, I am more prone to succumb to boredom eating. At work, there is not much time for that!

I don't work outside, so my home IS my work. I keep my home as a safe place and have my routines pretty well down. I ride a motorcycle and travel to several rallies a year all over the country. It's really hard to control what's in my food when I don't prepare it. I asked some of the rally vendors who live on the road all summer how they manage. I am told that is the reason for their RV travel: they carry their own kitchens with them for the comfort of control.

I'm just the opposite. I pack my food for the day at work. I'm not hungry and I don't deviate.
At home, I'm constantly finding myself "shopping" in the kitchen.

This may sound crazy, but I actually eat "better" when I'm at home. It seems like I'm always hungry when I'm at work. I'm a special education teacher so it's not like I'm sitting around, but for some reason I get hungrier at work.
When I'm at home, I almost never get hungry. (Except at mealtime.) Maybe it's because at home I'm always cleaning this or picking up that or running here or there.
So where do you eat "better?"
