Today will be my 5th day of Insanity. It's not easy and I do think you have to be insane to do it. However, I like how I feel when I am done. I'm not as sore as I thought I'd be, neither are my daughters. So I'm not sure if I need to push harder or maybe I'm in better shape than I thought. Today is cardio and I've heard it's a tough one! I'll keep pushing!

Posted a small weight gain for the week. I'm not going to worry about it today. I decided not to track this weekend, not because I'm eating any differently than usual on a weekend, but because I don't have any brain space to spare! I'm afraid I'm not doing enough with my brother, but I'm trying to give him time by himself with Mom and some time away from us to process a bit. We're not spending time with bemoaning lost years, just accepting that we were out of touch for a very long time and now we're together. But it's stressful, even if it doesn't seem so on the surface. Mom said yesterday (to me alone) "I seem calm, but my blood sugar this morning was high!" I trust that what he'll take home with him is that he is loved and accepted and that we know he loves us.

Good morning team!
It ended up being a beautiful day here yesterday, so after all of our kid activities, I went out for a run. Three miles and at an improved time! My speed work on the treadmill seems to be helping my time. Then we ended up getting a poker game together at our house. Indulged in some beer and pizza, but it wasn't too terrible.
I have a lot of housework to do today and need to get groceries bought. Everyone have a great day!

Good morning everyone.
I am enjoying cooking with my new oven! Now the hard part is not wanting to bake and bake and eat more..

Happy Sunday everyone! My original goal date for my weight loss is coming up this week - I have a professional conference that I am going to be high profile at and may be filmed, which gave me the motivation to start getting serious about my health. I realized around New Year's that I probably wasn't going to meet my goal in time and made peace with that, since I was already looking and feeling better at that point. Anyway, today I did my weigh-in and measurements, and was pleasantly surprised to find that 1) I'm only 1.8 lbs from my goal, and 2) I'm actually slightly below my goal for my waist size. I was going to go into the conference with my head high regardless, but it's nice to know that I am so close to transitioning to maintenance now.
Anyway, today is part 2 of my solo weekend. I have to be slightly more responsible today, but I'm determined to have some fun too. I'm off to bake muffins and do Taebo. Have a great day all!

another 10 mile walking day. we aren't getting much running in, but the aerobic component is well taken care of by the hill we have to walk every time we come home from a walk - yesterday we did it twice, for a total of 102 flights of stairs according to the fitbit.
weight is quite low - almost have to watch that i am eating enough. we were invited out for sunset drinks, and when we got back, i made us a "protein hit" - a salad of black-eyed peas with all the veggies i could find chopped up in it.
today will be more work, more walking. maybe we'll run - DH has been having trouble with the vog - volcanic stuff in the air - so we've been sticking to the walking.

Happy Sunday! Pretty frigid here in the Chicago area today but I know my lab will be pestering me for a walk as soon as the sun tries to appear.I have to keep reminding myself she is good for me. Plus she is too cute to get mad at!
Nothing on the agenda today. I need to read the book I got out of the library over a week ago. I've barely cracked it open. Maybe some elliptical action today. I had a good run at the gym yesterday.
I'm glad the reuinion with your brother went well Oneweigh. That was nice to read. Happy 10th birthday to your grandaughter Tortoise. That will be a fun a celebration.
Phebess, I will be thinking quick recovery thoughts for you this week.
Irene have a wonderful trip. You need some relaxation!
Fun Sunday wishes to all!

My grand daughter turns 10 today and we will be celebrating with family. Ten is such a great age. We will have fun on her day.
Worked hard on my essay/memoir piece and have a more polished draft ready to send to my writing group for comments. Time flies when I am working on writing and I didn't move quite as much as I need to, but I'lll make up for it today.

Calories at the top end of my range today, walked 8000 steps. And about 14 cups of water in this lovely hot weather.
I go in for surgery on Tuesday, so I won't eat after tomorrow evening - I figure I can have a bit more today and tomorrow. WEE bit!

Today is start if an unwinding week, packing to go to the Devon coast in SW England for a few days. I don't know if I can do much on Internet in a hotel. We are going away to reflect on recent events and plan ahead as much as we can. I shall be back ASAP. Irene

Good morning! I am up too early. What a great day we had yesterday! Very, very busy. We did quite a bit of cooking, and a lot of eating--don't even want to know what the scale has to say. It was so nice to see friends and family for our little get-together.
Oneweigh, I'm so glad your reunion with your brother went well. Congrats to those running races yesterday. I haven't done that in quite a while, but remember the feeling of accomplishment--such a great feeling.
Today will be a little more kick back, maybe do some shopping with daughter and granddaughter before she heads home. Hope to include a walk. Yummy leftovers, so I'll need to be watchful.
Hope everyone has a great day! I'm gonna see if I can fall back to sleep.
