I had a lot to cope with but it is almost up to the surgery now. House in order, car fixed, a/c fixed, income tax done. This morning I went to the border of Mexico to do mission work did other errands and got my hair done. Now I am ready for a nap.

Checking in from Yogaville, where we have a little break. I declined the 1.5- hour guided tour squeezed into vans. We have a 2-mile hike in about an hour (it's still snowing) to the LOTUS Shrine. All downhill for a mile, then we practice standing partner stretches before we hike back uphill to our third yoga class of the day. Right before lunch was a 30-minute silent meditation at the Shrine.

So I had my first 10k race this morning. It was cold, it was windy, it was AWESOME! I reached my goal of finishing in less than an hour, and I actually did better than expected with a time of 55:36, which means a little shy of 9 minute miles. That feels GREAT.
Food, on the other hand has been up and down. I do great during the day, but nighttime snacking is KILLING me. I'm figuring it's probably stress with all the work that I have to do, so I'm trying to get as much done this weekend so I'm not as stressed next week. In a little bit, I'm actually headed to the office so I can get some work done. Fortunately, it's a temporary thing, and everything will be back to normal on March 1.
So I'd better get some lunch and get going. Have a great day, everyone!
Quick check in. The reunion with my brother went well. Nothing terribly dramatic, we hugged and cried and then we were done. We're together, we're a family and a 25 year gap doesn't seem all that important. We're going out to breakfast this morning and then they want to do some touristy things that I don't think Mom should try (Underground tour with 6 flights stairs and dim lighting) so I'm not sure how things will shape. I also have my mundane things--car in the shop, laundry to be done, cat food to buy to work in somewhere. I'm glad this is a long weekend!
As of today, eating comes back under control. When I was doing so well, it would have been hard to convince me that I would return to this place. But I have and it is time to stop it before it goes much further. Glad for the support here and the knowledge that I have gained over the past 10 months.
We have a fun day with the kids planned. Eating out, bowling (trying to get out of that one), movies. I will NOT buy a vat of popcorn and eat it all by myself! Have a huge weakness for it. Need to get some fitness minutes in today and my groceries bought. Guess groceries can wait til tomorrow since I'm playing hooky on Monday.
Everyone have a great Saturday!

It was my morning with the kids while hubby slept in. So, we just finished breakfast. I ate 2.5 homemade lighter biscuits (with jelly, not gravy) and some blueberries. I'm going to lace up my sneakers and run in about 30 minutes when breakfast has settled down a little bit. Then a lovely day of chores and errands ahead. Today will be my first run in weeks, so I am planning on keeping it fairly short and sweet, but will still probably drive to my favorite running spot for distance runs, just to get back in the habit and make it more enjoyable than running around the track.
Imperfection is important. If we were all perfect, then there would be no such thing as growth, and everyone would be extremely boring, which is, paradoxically, not that perfect.-- Dr. Matt

Work was totally insane during the latter half of the week, so this is the first chance I've had to check in (though I've still been tracking and keeping with my program). I'm SO glad it's the weekend! My partner is off visiting family this weekend, so I have a rare weekend to myself. I'm hanging out with some friends at a cafe in a few hours (pre-planned my snack for that) and have to run some errands, but outside of that, I have no plans. I'm just going to play it by ear and see what kind of trouble I can get into. ;) In the meantime, I'm about to do some yoga and have breakfast. Have a relaxing day everyone!

after working the night as usual, took friday daytime off and a wonderful hike on the beach. for once it was not fiercely windy, and we found good places to safely get into the water. enjoyed a picnic, headed back and spent more time in the water, and were home 8 miles later. but we still took the sunset walk, ending the day at 11 miles.
today will be work as usual, but looking forward to a couple of walks - we are up to 58 miles for the week, have a great saturday!

Mornin all! Maree, that's sweet about the music book. I love Pachelbels Cannon! You should post a vlog when play that!!
I got home from my work trip yesterday. Good times with my co-workers but horrible "training" session. How that "consultant" makes the money she does is beside me.
I slept like a baby in my own bed last night. ahhhhh! Need to get it in gear today. I haven't been tracking well lately and haven't had much water. Must hit the reset button today. My labrador is pacing and wining pushing me to take her for a walk. Guess I'd better start layering up!
I enjoyed our warm weather yesterday as well - it reached 56! - such a TEASE!! We got 4 inches of snow overnight and it's 30 degrees right now.
I believe in myself, I am a strong woman. I will reach my goals, NOTHING & NOBODY will hold me down. I will live my life with integrity and intention. I will set a good example for my daughters and my son. I will be a woman that makes my grand children proud when they look at pictures of me long after I've left this earth.
Surprise warm weather yesterday--walked in shirt sleeves--but it's going to be chilly again. Plan to jump on the elliptical as well as do some ST. Excited to work on a writing project and begin to sort family photos (always like looking at them). Dinner is planned already. Saturday is here!

Maree - Your upbeat message improved my mood. I had a good night's sleep but still feel sluggish this morning. That's not good since Saturdays are supposed to be for my distance run. Maybe when the sun comes up I'll be back to normal.
Good morning! I finally checked in very late yesterday. I have had a great two days, good night's sleep, very busy, very productive, good eating and exercise and full of social connections with good people. Today will be super busy, as we are having a "birthday" open house for my daughter and running after/enjoying granddaughter, cleaning the house and preparing some fabulous food. Cold weather moving in again, unfortunately, but hopefully the sun will shine. DH gave me a new music book for Valentines Day, so I'm looking forward to learning Joseph Martin's arrangement of Canon de Noel, a combination of Pachelbel's Canon and The First Nowell. I heard a pianist playing it last Christmas so my goal is to learn it well enough to play for my family this coming Christmas. Only two sharps, so it looks do-able. :))
