Hi! I would look for a gym at the hotel. Ask if they have one and try some of the equipment. Best wishes, Linda from bean town

Oh, Oneweigh, they don't call me the Cookie Monster for nothing. I'm a sucker for a good cookie.

Lots of calorie counting talk on the board today. I count my calories. I don't mind it. I don't seem to obsess over it and it helps me stay on track.

On calorie counting... I decided to start streaking. I gained some weight (12 lbs) over the holidays and managed to take 5 of the lbs off. I then sustained an injury in my quad so I've had to take time off exercise. I need a goal to get to my goal, as you all are familiar with, and I've never streaked... well... not in this fashion, anyway ;)

My streak is to stay within calorie range with no night time binges. Day one, done!

Had a good morning, due to sit an write my messages on boards. Not so stressful today. That helps with the binge urges.

Seeing common themes here with sleep and work stress.

Took sick leave this morning to go to the travel clinic at the county health department. What a zoo! Waited over an hour and a half and then the technician almost decided I didn't have enough time before travel for my typhoid vaccine. She recounted and decided I did, thank goodness, because there's nowhere else to go for that around here. Then I went to get blood drawn for my warfarin, which I'm supposed to do monthly but rarely stay on schedule. Teleworking the rest of the day.

Good morning team! I am feeling so much better today after a good sleep last night.. I'm waiting for the oven repair man to come to fix my oven.. the main computer controls went and I've been without a big oven for many months as its the most expensive part to fix "of course" My little kitchen aid countertop oven has been a godsend and I even managed to bake small loaves of bread in it...BUTTT.. am tired of fiddling with it...

I'm looking forward to the next challenge and maintaining my new center weight of 110 for the next 8 weeks..

Good morning a little late. I'm working on my attitude. Lots of little, unimportant things the last few days piling up!

I need an attitude adjustment before someone calls me a waabulance. Ha ha

I'm also trying to ignore this raging sweet tooth I have going on!

A quick hello before starting work. I had an unfortunate incident involving shortbread cookies at lunch yesterday (I lost count but I think I ate 6.), but other than that the day went pretty well. I did most of the things I intended to do. Tonight I have to be at church at 7 for Ash Wednesday. It's earlier than our usual rehearsal time, but we'll probably get out earlier, which will be nice.

This past weekend I had a great time skiing w/my girls at the Blue Hills. Fri-Sat we had a huge snowstorm that dumped between 26-30" snow. Thankfully my dh was home to snowblow the driveway and shovel the walkway. He was so sweet to do the neighbors as well. I am so lucky to have him as a husband. We celebrated Mardi Gras and Valentines day yesterday since we begin lent today. So trying to stay off the sweets and soda as usual and doing good so far.

Good morning team.
I'm late this morning. The girls' school delayed to 10:00 due to the ice from yesterday's snow. Got up and did 40 minutes of strength training and now am eating my breakfast and drinking coffee.

I used to track calories. I feel like I learned enough that now I don't have to. I focus on eating healthy 80% and can have treats 20%. Some days I won't have any treats though. I used to get a little obsessive about counting calories. I feel like if I can look at my plate and know that my meal is healthy I don't need to obsess over knowing how many calories it is. Can sometimes be counter productive.

I'm not really good at counting calories. When in doubt, I do count them to see if I'm staying in my range. I pretty much eat the same things so I don't have to count much. I do keep track of my exercise though.

I'm giving up sweets for Lent this yr. Usually don't give anything up but I've been struggling with sweets and I think this may hold me accountable.

Have a great Wed.

Today is my no-cardio day. Just 30 min of weights all by myself or maybe with a SP video or two for variety.
It's Ash Wednesday.
Lenten Luncheon at the Methodist Church
Lenten Supper at the Catholic Church
Minimalist meals, but I don't have to cook. An interesting situation.

Good morning!

I am back on track with eating and have lost one of the two pounds I picked up last week on vacation. I have an odd way with calories. I count them all day and then just decide on a healthy dinner along the lines of what you do Irene. I have never been a fan of processed foods, but since Spark find them almost intolerable. It makes being in the grocery store a lot easier. So many aisles to ignore!

I have my yoga class today and I'm looking forward to it, mid-morning, to break up my working day. Have a good one, everyone.

Toni

Finally my calories are in range, though still low on protein - with the hot weather here, I have light lunches and they tend to be fruit and carb, not so much protein. Need to work on that.

Took a walk with DH after supper, when it was cooling down.

Good morning team.

Irene, so sorry to hear of your husband's diagnosis and pray for you and your family and his medical providers.

I have been slammed at work and don't see it letting up. I have several face to face meetings today which is a welcome change from all the email contact. There's something to be said for conducting relationships the old fashioned way. Having said that, I'm glad for my friends here even though it's through these words and pictures.

Great nutrition yesterday (2 days down). Heading to gym for eliptical at 5 am and RIPPED class at 5:30 for an hour. I agree that getting it done first thing in the morning is best for me. I woke after 6 hrs of sleep and although I feel rested enough, I can tell the difference when I get the full 8. Maybe tonight.

Here's hoping for a great day, with healthy choices winning out!
