I'm a late check in, but I'm here! I had a pretty active day. Woke up at 2:30 in the morning and never got back to sleep. Went into work for 4 hours, read some Wheel of Time, did some light workouts, cleaned house a little and ran around. Unfortunately, I'm sick and exhausted now. =S My son had pneumonia and I appear to be coming down with something. =( I hate to be sick and get off of my workout schedule, especially since I only just got back into Peak10, but it's only a minor setback. I won't gain back the 75 lbs that I lost in a couple of days (though that is definitely a secret fear). I hope everyone else is feeling whole and healthy!

LOGOULD I know how hard it is to make that connection--"You're not hungry, you're tired. You don't need to eat, you need to go to bed!"
We spent the morning messing around on the boat. It needs LOTS of work, but it's growing on me. The little kid in me says, "It's like a floating fort!" I'm short enough that I can stand up in the cabin, so it's like a playhouse. A playhouse that needs lots of cleaning and repair. Not long after we got home I got a call from my big brother. No big deal to most, but I hadn't spoken to him in 25 years. He was kind of a wastrel and after my Dad died and my Mom couldn't keep helping him out, he left and that was that. I located him on Facebook a couple of years ago and we reconnected. He's planning to visit next week to surprise my Mom, so he was calling to talk about that. It's strange. We're 10 years apart in age and he's been gone half my life.

Had a victory this week. I got ST done twice in one week. I don't know why I resist doing it regularly. I have a hard time doing it more often than once every 5 days. I get so sore each time that it takes until the third day after each time to recover.

Happy weekend all! My hardest part is already over - had to do a presentation to a few colleagues this morning, and it went well, so I'm ready to kick back! I'm going out to dinner with friends tonight, but I already tracked ahead what I'm going to eat there and tracked the rest of my day in advance so I can have a fun but healthy time. I had to delay my morning workout because of getting up so early to get ready for my presentation, but I'm about to that after I finish my lunch.
Have fun and stay safe everyone!

Hi everyone. Hope all of you stuck in the snowstorm are safe and warm! We have grey drizzle here, day after day lately, but at least we don't have to shovel it!
I'm loving maintenance!

Hi all, I am shoveling out from a blizzard. I will be shoveling all day. Over two feet of snow was dropped on the sidewalks and driveways. The streets are snow covered despite the fact the city has being plowing all night. We are all worried about flooding near the water front. I know I will get plenty of exercise today. Travel ban is still in effect for three states. I can not take my little doggy very far because he would get buried in the snow. He loves running and rolling in the snow. I only made it to the tree in front of the house with him so he could pee. Best wishes on your day, Linda from bean town

Good morning team.
I had a not so great day yesterday as far as food and nutrition go. Skipped my morning workout and planned on doing it in the evening, but we ended up going out, so that didn't happen. We played cards and I drank a few too many beers. I used to drink heavily every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I've cut WAY back on the amount and the frequency.
I am up way too early for a Saturday. Will probably piddle around on the computer for a few and then go lay back down. Will get my meals planned and groceries shopped for today. Need to get in at least 60 minutes of exercise. I have my monthly goal of 1000 minutes and I am behind. I have some housework I need to do and DH was talking last night about taking the girls bowling.
Everyone have a great day!

Gooooood morning everyone! It's not supposed to be too bed here today in the Chicago area. So sorry for anyone in the New England area today!
I'm cleaning the spare bedroom for my son to spend the night while we drive to Peoria, Il to see comedian Jeff Dunham and an overnight hotel stay. I'm very excited, I've been a fan for a long time!
I had a good run at the gym last night and lower body machines. Going to take it easy today, just walk the dog, housework, maybe a little elliptical before we head out.

The weather is on a lot of our minds this morning. It's a clear day here in VA but still 32* at 8am. I really want to run 8 miles this morning (really run 6 and walk 2). I can't do that on a treadmill, yet I don't want to freeze. I'll wait awhile hoping for a quick warmup. If not I'll scale back my expectations and drive to the gym.
Stay warm everyone.
The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running.

A mild start to the weekend. So far I've managed to get rid of 2 of the 6 lbs I gained from surgery. Very frustrating because I can't workout like I need to. Hopefully the rest will come off soon.

Back to work and the daily grind this week. Finding that I do well all day until night time and then the mindless eating and cravings begin. I know that it is probably because I have just let myself keep going until I am too tired to resist, but now, the trick is to let myself just go to bed at that point and PUT DOWN THE FOOD!

I woke up this morning to the sound of birds singing (I live near a nature preserve) and it was nice. I had woken up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep, so I made some black bean chicken, which should be ready for portioning and freezing before I have to go to spin class.
It's going to be a busy day: 6 mile run in a few minutes, then spin class later in the morning before heading to work for the afternoon. I have a ton of stuff I have to get done by the end of the month, so from here on out, I'll be working every weekend.
Alright, time to get clothes changed so I can get running! Have a great day, everyone!

Ahhh, good Saturday morning! A full 8 hrs of sleep....yes! It's not Florida Tortoise, but we have sunshine (partly) and 45 degrees in the forecast. I'm still deciding between exercise options--a run with my two puppydogs OR walking/running dogs at the Animal Shelter for a couple of hours. We had talked about taking the1.5 hr drive to our marina to check the houseboat (Oneweigh--I can't wait for boating season to begin!) and visit friends with hilly acreage for walking the whole pack of dogs. We shall see. There's a briefcase full of work staring at me, too. Hmmmm, if DH drives, I could squeeze in 3 hrs of work...
The snack cracker indulgence was with cornbread crackers--something different, but I love all the ones posted yesterday, too. Yes, it's best not to have them in the house. Period. Especially when stress levels are high and those old engrained brain pathways are screaming to comfort thyself with food. Need some ST on the newer, healthy choice brain waves! Go team!
I hope everyone has a happy and healthy Saturday!

From the. Weather reports I think you should be staying in Florida not leaving it. I trust all our team mates and friends are coping with winter conditions. It's just wet and cold here in England. I have no major plans for the weekend it's the calm before the storm time as there is a busy week ahead. Stay safe Irene

Good morning, team. Hard to leave sunny Florida--so easy to exercise here. But leaving, grateful for days of leisure with good friends. Gives me energy to get through rest of winter.
