Funny it's the salty stuff for so many of us; for me, it's pretzels. I can easily keep going back for 'just a few' and end up eating several servings when I start figuring it up. Doing well today; managed to avoid having a mid-morning snack and wait until noon for lunch, which is rare for me. I hope everyone on the East Coast stays warm and safe!

Hi all, I am trying to stay indoors because of the blizzard. The roads are all snow covered and due to get worst. Visibility will go down as the temperature drops and it will snow heavier. I walked the doggies this morning and this afternoon. I already walked an hour and half. My little doggy will need to go outside in front of the house a couple more times today. Snow is predicted until tomorrow at 1:00 pm. The Governor Deval Patrick has put a travel ban in effect starting at 4 pm today. If we have more than two feet it will take days to clean up. Some parts of the state has already lost power. Best wishes, Linda from bean town

Crackers, cheese and ice cream seem to be my trouble foods, which is why I rarely keep them in the house.

However, lately the snack foods of choice have been Cheerios and almonds, so I'm trying to figure out strategies to curb my nighttime snacking tendencies.

In other news, my scale snapped out of it and is showing a more reasonable weight, so I'm 154.2 pounds according to the scale today. I'm cool with that. Also had a GREAT run last night with my group from Fleet Feet here in Memphis. We ran to a track and did intervals. What was awesome was me, the sole female in the group, being able to keep up with the boys on the run back to the shop! WOOHOO! IT FELT GREAT!

Got my strength training in this morning, and will be swimming tonight. I'm looking forward to some time in the pool. :)

Having good positive successful days the last two days. Off to a great start today. Journaling extra entries in my designated "lifestyle changes" journal each day is helping sort out my binge behavior.

No problem with crackers or chips. I'm a sugar addict. I have to do alot of talking to myself when there's sweets around.

We've got a nice day ahead. Sunshine and no snow, freezing rain or sleet. Later tomorrow it will be a totally different story. I did a treadmill workout this morning so now I'm ready to get my day going.

Have a great Friday!

I'm happy it's Friday also and my official weighin day.. down to 109 this am.. For the next challenge I've set my center at 110 as this is where my body seems to want to be. I was so afraid to regain my weight when I started maintenance, but it's all coming together nicely.

I tried a Rodney Yee intermediate yoga DVD and am not ready for that stage and the whole inverted poses section is out with the arthritis in my wrists.. they can't bend in certain ways without pain and I'm afraid to fall over with my hip replacement and do damage, so I just did my own thing throughout that section!

I hope all you folks who live in the east don't get snowed in for days on end.. it sure sounds like a bad storm from the news coverage. Stay safe and warm! emoticon

Very glad it's Friday! Husband has concerts this weekend which will take up Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. He also wants to spend some time mucking around with his new sailboat and I'll probably help with that--I've got notions about what needs to be done with the cabin. At least I bought some water repellent insulated gloves, so maybe I won't get quite as cold down at the marina as I was last weekend. I really need to start walking regularly again, I can feel that my fitness level has slipped this winter. Onward to the weekend! emoticon

The freezing rain sucks....I think that's my least favorite weather for sure! Hoping to drag myself to the gym today after work. I haven't been there for over a week! I also have things I want to get done at home before I crawl into bed though...I'm not sure which is going to win...hopefully both! Weight up again this morning :( and I stayed in range yesterday for sure! Supper was probably high on the sodium side though come to think of it.
Cracked Pepper and Olive Oil Triscuits do it for me! I split a box one Sunday afternoon with my son about a month ago...along with some grapes and pepper jack cheese....and my weight has been up ever since! I can't seem to stop craving the salty crunchy or the sweet--
Happy Friday!

I had a good day yesterday with food and exercise. I slept through my workout this morning, but it's strength training day, so I will do it in front of the tv this evening. Fridays are often lazy days around the office, but I will try to focus this morning so I can play hooky this afternoon. Well, I'm going to play hooky this afternoon regardless, I just don't want to feel guilty :) So I will see what I can do to get some work cleared off this morning.

I'm a salty crunchy lover too. Nothing like plain white corn tortilla chips. emoticon

Happy Friday everyone! I'm so glad it's here! I'm about to do some Bollywood dancing and to eat a delicious breakfast. I rarely buy crackers, but I do like Garden of Eatin' blue tortilla chips from time to time. I always bring baggies with snacks to work so that I don't have a reason to go get a snack from elsewhere.

Morning all! I love the wheat thins! Any cracker really but I pack a small snack baggie of fat free wheat thins and a small container of peanut butter for the 3:00 munchies! It takes the edge of my later afternoon snack monster!

SO glad to end this week! I brought my gym clothes, going straight to the gym after work for a run. No excuses!

Yesterday is forgotten! I hope everyone has a positive day today!

Ah, the snack crackers. Rosemary and Olive Oil Triscuits are my downfall, and at 120 calories for just 6 crackers, the damage can (and does) mount up quickly. Since I haven't been able to conquer the re-emerging habit, I bought Special K chips, since they do less damage. The goal is to tame the snacking beast again. I know the tools and rules; I just haven't gotten there yet.

Yesterday was an overall good day. I teleworked, so I got a rare night of adequate sleep. Then, I managed to eat within my range AND not snack after dinner, though I find that easier when DH is home. Finally, I had ST with my trainer and came home with too few steps on the Fitbit, so I investigated Jeff Galloway's walk/run technique (thanks for the tip, WalkingMamma!) and did some run/walk intervals on the treadmill while DH was on the elliptical. I like when we work out together.

Maree: I understand about the snack crackers. Wheat thins are my problem. They're so THIN I can finish a box all by myself. Fortunately, not often.

I'm off to the gym too. A short run before aerobics/weights class.

The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running.

Today was good - 10,000+ steps, and while a bit over my cal range, it was only by about 50 calories, so I'm not too worried.

It's Friday!! I'm hoping for a quiet day at the office so that I am able to focus on one project and get a lot done. Yesterday was good until I went to the grocery store, bought and ate a box of snack crackers--sabatoged myself. So I need to do some emotional work. Today is 30 min eliptical and 60 min RIPPED class. Hubby planning a nice dinner tonight and I just think about calorie content. ugh.

Okay, up and at 'em. Off to the gym.
Hope everyone has a great day!
