Late check in! A busy day at work, followed by an appointment with a lawyer to work on our estate planning. That's stressful, but necessary. I got my prescription that I forgot to fill yesterday, so my injection was only a day late. That really gave me a reality check of how much I'd let the stress get to me. Friday's coming!

Weight back down to 109.5 this morning after cutting back my recent chocolate snack habit.. My chocolate cravings have been so strong lately, more than usual!! must be the long winter starting to get to me!

I am progressing nicely on my quest to return to goal weight. Once I wrote down my goals on a chart and committed to sticking with it, I felt much more in control. I've been exercising every day, drinking lots of water, staying within my calorie range, and getting plenty of sleep. Tonight I go to Curves while my son is at Taekwondo next door. Good afternoon, the day and the week have just whizzed by! Had what I call a 'hungry, hungry hippo' day yesterday where I wanted to eat much more than needed, but I was able to keep it reasonably in check since it was also a two-workout day (running in the morning and belly dancing class in the evening). I am having fun with the belly dancing class, although it reminds me just how tight my hip flexors are. Hopefully doing that class will help me loosen those more, which in turn should help with the running.

Had 3 workouts yesterday. Felt good, especially since I'm having trouble getting in exercise with my son's family here. They have taken this week to go to my DIL's family to visit, so I'm without a car for the week. I have plenty of DVDs and some good walking weather.

I'm up a little again today...I was craving sweet last night...had a peanut butter and honey sandwich....(on whole wheat) so yummy...it could have been a worse choice I suppose, but I was definitely plenty over target by the end of the day...crawled into bed early too after watching part 1 of Roots with my son (drifting in and out of sleep through it). I've taken a hiatus from exercise since last Saturday...the 4 mile "run" I did in the cold really wore me out.

I had a great day with nutrition and exercise yesterday. Did a strength training video. Made good choices at breakfast and lunch. I overate at dinner. It was healthy food, but I made a piggy of myself! Didn't have an evening snack because of it. It is probably a better idea to have a reasonable meal with a snack later to keep the metabolism burning. I got up early this morning and ran. Pushed myself a little harder than usual. It felt good. Hoping to get some work cleared off my desk today.

It's funny, that in 2 days I managed to put on 6 lbs and it's taking me much longer to take it off. I knew I would put on a few after surgery, but it bugs me that it always takes longer to take them off. I'm unable to workout hard so I have to have easy workouts. At least for the rest of the week. I'll see what the Dr. says next week when I go and see him.
I think I'll try the elliptical this morning and possibly bike.

Morning everyone! Re: managing stress, I noticed this week that I am almost always saying, "I didn't get as much work done today as I wanted to," a thought that stresses me out, although I ultimately always end up getting it done. So, I decided to start kicking that thought to the curb and accepting however much I got done, knowing the rest will be done. My stress is quite a bit lower! Changing your thoughts can change a lot!
Good morning! I'm definitely sore from strength training yesterday, but it was definitely worth it. This morning is swimming and tonight is a workout run with the folks from the local running specialty store. Should be fun!
My scale is acting a little wonky though. It said that I was 156 pounds on Tuesday, but now says I'm 148.4 this morning. HUH? I'm a little baffled.

Happy Thursday! This week is flying by! I was awakened about 12:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. I agree, ONEWEIGH, with the frustration of having your limited sleep time interrupted. And there's something to be said for strengthening the skills to cope with stress. Rather than mull it over in my mind, I got up and wrote my thoughts (about work) down on paper. Had a cup of hot tea (no caffeine), but I doubt I'll get back to sleep before the 4 a.m. alarm.
I'm looking forward to my long walk with fitness buddy this morning and hearing about her week in Florida. Hawaii and Florida and warmth, sunshine, sunsets, beaches all sound SO good!!
Just finished off the Twizzlers and got them out of the house. I must admit I enjoyed them and only indulge once a year or less. Have some great leftovers for healthy nutrition today.
