A good end to January with marvellous news from Lori. I am so pleased for you.
We had good news too on 31st, a new baby boy arrived in the family. He's a big boy almost 10lbs birth weight. He's to be named Gideon Martin. His dad is Martin.
The news and photo were instantly on Facebook andTwitter . Modern easy way of communicating it to all their family and friends, I hope to meet the new arrival at weekend.

Finally back to 188.2 and am relieved to be back in my maintenance range.
Fitting a size 12 now, pretty dang cool.
Still working on my water intake, and so far, my body is LOVING the extra liter or more of water a day.

Lori, that is wonderful news! Dense boobies, huh? LOL! If the tech told me that, I would go around thinking that I had firm breasts. That's not a bad thought to have, although at this time in my life it couldn't be farther from the truth.

Good Morning Team
I'll am happy to say good bye to January.. it's been and still is so grey and overcast this week. My convection oven needs a whole new computer control to the tune of $350 but cheaper than a new stove.. I have to wait for mid february for the tech to come back and install it from Sears. so, it's stovetop cooking for 2 more weeks and my little toaster oven.

I got really overtired yesterday, which made my arthritis flare and I kind of had a horrible meltdown.. but today after a good sleep, I feel a bit better and getting back into a routine will help alot. I have some alone time this morning and that really helps also!

Take care team..

It lasted about a month. Not sure if I want to try the BodyBugg or another Fitbit product at this point, so I think I'm just going to keep up the active habits and just let whatever happens happen.

UPDATE: My Fitbit died the ultimate death. It keeps needing to be reset every 20 minutes, and since I just don't have the time or the ability to do that, the Ultra is NO MORE. I'll still do my steps and my stairs, but I'll go back to using the SP Fitness Tracker to keep track of my runs and all that. It's just easier anyways.

Also forgot to mention that I finally bit the bullet and picked up a body fat scale, and so on Thursdays, I weigh myself using that scale, so I take the BF measurement from that (getting the lower body measure), take a measurement right after with my handheld (to get upper body), take the two and average them. It means my fat percentage statistic went up (my lower body is fattier than my upper), but at least it's more accurate. I have read that those contraptions may not be as accurate as the water and bone density/DEXA methods, but it is actually a bit more accurate than calipers, especially since I was noticing that the guy measuring my fat at the gym wasn't measuring in the exact same place every time, which can skew the results. So I'll just count on my trusty scale, and handheld, measure at the same time under the same conditions and leave it at that. At least I'm still under 30% body fat, so that makes me happy.

OK, back to work I go. Have a GREAT day!

Jane

I'm checking in from work today because I was so crunched on time at home this morning. Still got my cardio done, though. Looking forward to a fun evening tonight going to the movies. I need to get a lot of work done today, though. Brought a good lunch and snacks to get me through.

Sending good vibes your way, Lori!

Morning team. Thinking about you Lori. I know its hard not to worry. I went through a lump scare in November.

Looks like I'm home again with a sick kid. She didn't cough much last night and doesn't have fever this morning, so hopefully its the last day.

Will get on the treadmill today for some cardio. Making my recipe for the recipe game today. If ya'll haven't checked it out, head over to the Just For Fun forum. We are having so much fun trying and reviewing new recipes. Everyone have a great day!

Keep us posted, Lori. Sending you positive thoughts!
January was almost a blur, and February is always crazy busy around our house. I am holding steady for three weeks now at 157 and while I am putting in more fitness minutes (including both strength and cardio) and eating better, the scale isn't moving but I am noticeably toning, even wearing a smaller size pants. I'm realizing more and more that I really am not too concerned with what the scale is saying; this may be where my body wants to be weight-wise, and I'm pretty happy with that.
The temps were up 5 degrees yesterday so I got out and walked with students during lunch and recess. We'll do it again today.
Have a great day, everyone!

Lori-I hope things go well for you today. I am approaching my 1 yr of being a BC survivor.

I'm on day 3 of having stomach issues. I didn't do my workout yesterday except for the walk I took early. I'm going to walk on the treadmill today and if I can, do a little running. After 4 plus inches of snow yesterday, it is extremely cold outside. Good day to stay inside.

Have a great day everyone! Let's get this month over with!

Aww, you all are so sweet to send me all the love to encourage me on my test day. I'll let you all know how things turn out!

I haven't gotten much exercise since company arrived last Friday, but yesterday I got 10,200 steps. This morning I pulled out the new Total Body Sculpting DVD by Coach Nicole. I got it off amazon for 6 dollars the other day. Couldn't find it at any Target nearby, so was excited to see the special promotion. I only did the barre workout today. I liked it and can't wait to get into the rest of the video.

My weight is staying stable. I'm grateful that my kids are health conscious. My youngest son turns 21 today and doesn't want cake for his party but wants to have a juicing party with all the family. My oldest son had purchased a really nice juicer a few years back and we will use that.

Good morning, team. Good to hear all of you are up and going at another Spark day. Thinking of Lori and wishing her the very best.

I'm ready for February too, and days, inching toward Spring. Our son leaves for Wyoming tomorrow and is looking for as much winter as he can get (skier).

We celebrated my husband's birthday with the family. Cake and ice cream of course. I enjoyed a small piece, especially because I made it with my 6 year old grandson. (Lots of sprinkles on top).

Take care everyone and "see" you next month!

Lori, you're on my mind, so sending prayers and purrs your way!!!

So the guy from Monday never bothered to call, so I invited a friend from the gym to join me for the game on Saturday. Should be a fun time...he's a cool guy.

Food was good...until the end of last night. I was SO incredibly HUNGRY all freakin' day, so I ended up eating a bunch of Cheerios and almonds at the end of the night. At least I got some solid sleep, though...heaven knows I needed it!

So I have a run this morning and another one tonight. The one tonight is with folks from my fave running specialty shop, so that should be fun, plus it's working specifically on hills, which will be good.

Have a great day, everyone!

Prayers and hugs to Lori today! White chocolate chips. YUM! I hope you figure out what may have triggered that. Irene, you have been stuck in too long. Once you get out, there will be no stopping you!

I am up way too early. My husband has been sick. I heard him up coughing taking the dog out in this nasty weather. He's a trooper.

I'm so glad to say goodbye to January! I hope everyone ends the month on a great note!

I am glad to see January go, the bad weather kept me at home for two weeks, I did exercises at home but missed walking. Today my end of month weigh in showed a slight increase. Oh no,! So am trying to walk each day the weather allows it.

Yaaay--the month of January ends today! and we are closer to spring. Another arctic blast is here, although overall, it's been a fairly mild winter.

Prayers and best wishes for Lori as she goes in for tests today.

Fitness and nutrition were great yesterday...until I raided some white chocolate chips left over from my daughter's cookie baking last Sunday. When I do something like that, there's usually something going on that I need to work on with skills I learned through emotional brain training. I'm up too early this morning, so I'll take the time to do that.

New study out yesterday says those who eat early in the day lose more weight, confirming the "eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper" theory. I also heard about a plan to eat all your meals within 8 hrs and let the digestive system rest for 16 hrs. I guess both will sell a lot of books, if nothing else.

Happy Thursday!
