Had a pretty good today, though it started out with me in a bad mood from my sweet, sweet husband's shenanigans last night. The forecast called for rain, so I did not go for a jog. It did not rain. I was disappointed to miss out on the oppurtunity, but I won't beat myself up over it. I got to go to church and make some refried beans without the refry, a recipe that my friend Chelsea gave me to try. It is made in the slow cooker and is almost done. It smells so good!
I kept telling myself that I wasn't going to work out because I felt like having a lazy day, but I do not do lazy days very well. I jumped into some workout clothes and did a steady cardio and strength training routine. It made me feel a lot better!
Thank God for motivation! Once I put on my workout clothes, I can't just sit there. It makes me feel like a sloppy rube. =P
Did great with my food and even had a little treat. I made low sugar and gluten and oil free vegan dark chocolate cake yesterday with vegan frosting. The recipe turned out so well! I admittedly scraped off most of the frosting, but after being a diabetic for so long, my sweet tooth is incredibly underdeveloped now that I am in remission. Not a bad thing!

Eating my veggies and fruit. I walked my little doggie Dusty three times today. We did longer walks because the sun was shining and the weather was a little warmer at 25 degrees. It feels warmer compared to the 5 degree temps with the wind chill at -14 we had earlier in the week. Best wishes to all. Linda from bean town

Eating was okay today but I was a lump--no exercise. I worked very hard all last week so today was a rest day. Gym class tomorrow at 9:30--and I will try to get there at 8:30 to run a bit on the treadmill. We'll see... I am also debating getting the 10 pack on the Cross Fit classes--on sale till 1/31.
I am about 5 pounds over goal--and this time I am going to go 2-4 pounds UNDER goal so I have some wiggle room. I hit goal before Christmas and then lost it again....

A good day - nutrition was in range (yay, it has been a few days) and I had a few good walks - nothing long, but enough.

Had a BIG meal Friday, but have been back to normal since. I would like to get some exercise in today, but the cold dreary weather makes me want to stay where it is warm---think I'll opt for inside stair climbing or something . . . along with my typical indoor/outdoor exercises (weights, squats, etc.)
Wiggle room on my weight! Getting consistent with exercise tipped the scales . . . in a good way~just don't think I need to lose any more--just get firm and fit!
SW: 275-276 Ht. 5'6" GW: 135 (goal range: 130-140) CW: 124.7 My focus is fitness! (I'm getting there . . . )

Oh-I keep thinking the same thing about my breakfast...working hard at resisting the urge to just make it a blow out day....so far so good though, and I have a veg-beef soup that is mostly vegetables ready for later in the day, so I have no excuses...I hope :)

Why is it that I let one bad meal throw me off for the day? We went out to breakfast to a place that I know isn't very good. I still managed to eat about 700 calories of not-very-good, which depressed me. Did a lot of museum walking, skipped lunch, then made and ate a salad and huge bowl of mac and cheese for dinner. Still not satisfied, I ate an apple, a big Hershey's kiss I got for Christmas and a cheese stick. All because I wanted do-overs on a bad breakfast.

Cold and rainy here..freezing and getting slick. I got up early and walked to church then came back to get the kids for the omelet breakfast for the school- yummy--but I was still hungry when I got home,(who knows why) so I had a banana while I brewed coffee- now I'm ready to curl up with a book :) Maybe a movie with my OH later today, if it's not too icy for him to come into town. He got called into work this morning (road crew), so he might be working through movie time anyway. Have a great Sunday!

Got my meals planned for the week and going to go to the grocery store later. Need to get moving if we are going to beat the church crowd. I need to get some housework done too. Going to get some miles in today. Not sure if I will walk or run or do intervals. I'm supposed to go out with my buddies who want to run, but aren't quite there yet. I won't be terribly sad if they flake out so I can do my own thing. We will see.
Guess I better get off the computer if I'm going to get everything done. Everyone have a great day.

I used to love Pachelbel Canon in D until DH discovered it and bought just about every version ever recorded...including one CD that is all Pachelbel Canon in 12 different recordings.
Anyway, it's a beautiful day out there, and I have been a slug too many days this week. Gotta walk!

Happy Sunday everyone! It's going to be a cloudy rainy day here - perfect for baking some healthy muffins and drinking tea! I'm making some ginger-lemon-green tea muffins - have made them before, and they are delicious. I'm also going to get moving to some Taebo this morning.
I wish I could say I love Pachabel's Canon, but I've had to play a lot of weddings in my day (violin) and I swear everyone asks for that. It's pretty, but I've gotten pretty burnt out on it. haha

Sounds like cold weather across the world! Day 3 of cold rain here. Feeling motivated today to go try on new clothes. I need some pants or skirts, something fun to get me out of the winter grays and blacks. Have a beautiful day everyone!

Winter Storm headed our way this morning also. Another boring treadmill day. As soon as the ice, etc. goes away and our next Arctic blast is done, I'm going to have to push myself out the door and get some outside runs in.

It's still cold this morning, but the ice is gone and the roads are clear. 7.1 miles at the gym yesterday, the longest I've hung in there on a treadmill ever. This afternoon I'll just walk, actually stroll if DH will go with me. I'm so happy when he gets out there that he can set the pace and the distance with no complaints from me. I've got warm clothes.

Good morning team - up early this morning to do lighting at church. Should be done around 12:30, then to the rehab center to see my sis. My little sister is heading home early today due to the rain, snow, sleet, ice storms we are due for, so hoping to be in jammies with some tea and to bed early. Nutritionally, was a pretty good day. Not great, but I didn't blow my nutritional limits. Next couple of weeks, the work schedule gets a little more regular, so getting some rhythm back is a distinct possiblity.

Here it 'tis, Sunday morning. Went to see Skyfall last night with my husband and then we had dinner. It was a great date night. A little crazy James Bond is fun every once in awhile, though I didn't think this one had as much wry humor as I like. It reminded me of Bond and the Queen at the Olympics last summer. So fun!

January is almost over! Howdy team! What a busy day yesterday--lots of socializing and running after the 18 mo old granddaughter. The house will be quiet after 11 a.m. when they all leave and I am inspired by all the runners so I plan to do a run myself. I' m looking forward to sitting down at the piano, too. I was taking a class at the local community college for older students, but our prof retired. So I like to go back through my favorites, my daily piece is Pachelbel Canon in D.
