Thank you for the range suggestions. This has me thinking even more positively about maintenance and when I can "officially" say I'm there.
Kristine, I hope you are having a fabulous student teaching experience! So sorry to hear dd is sick.

Did OK all day until a late dinner with family. Chinese buffet and I 'think' I am in control . . . well, to say the least, the next few days I will have to be a bit extra conservative on my calorie consumption. I've done pretty well with this method and I don't have these days too often, thankfully.

So, 2 months into maintenance and through the holiday foods and all, I am flexing between 132 and 137. My target was 137. I am there and stayig there! Yay! I keep aiming at 132 but bounce back to 137 +/- when I've had days where I have eaten too much. I suppose these are my goal posts.

Good night all.

Tomorrow . . . I think a pot of yummy vegetable soup is in order.

Hi All-
Funny we should bring up the pre-tracking. I've tried that the last couple of days and really like it. I've been making a lot of crock pot meals during the week, so I know exactly what I'll be having for dinner, and then I bring left over for lunch the next day. Super easy to track. Weekends will be different.

Had a great good day, and was so incredibly tired all day and tonight but managed to do 3 Coach Nicole videos for 28 minutes, so I guess that's something.

Happy weekend!

Hi all, I'm home and back to a more normal routine after an 8-day visit to California. I was a bit concerned about gaining while on vacation as we ate out the whole time and ate some things that I don't normally since we were celebrating my birthday and my brother-in-law's birthday while there. I was so happy to find that my weight had stayed basically the same (up slightly yesterday, back down today) when I got back on the scale at home; apparently we were active enough (20,000+ steps a day most days!) that it balanced things out, and we didn't go completely crazy with food. Loved the trip, but I'm really happy to be back to normal eating again.

I agree with Michelle regarding weight range. emoticon

For me I have a goal weight of 112 and am happy with any weight from 110 to 114, which allows for normal day to day fluctuations in weight due to water retention, hormones, medications or whatever causes one to retain fluids.

This particular reference of mine has to do with my weight- which I consider 3 pounds (sometimes up to 5) above or below my target weight.

Good Morning Team

I like the common theme this morning of folks pre-tracking daily nutrition. It seems to be a key to maintenance success and I do the same. Over the past 4 months I've entered all my favourite recipes into the recipe calculator and made my own cookbook and printed out the recipes. It was time consuming at first, but now makes dinner so much easier.. yes, even those "fridge" soups!

Staying in the 1300 to 1500 calorie range is working for me and I eat a bit more on "stationary" bike day and less on yoga days..

I am loving maintenance and this mornings weighin for tracking was 109.5.. same for 3 weeks in a row.. emoticon

So I'm back from my trip to Tunica. I had a WONDERFUL time, connecting with old contacts, making new ones, dancing the night away and eating some really good food. I'm wiped out, because it was a non-stop day, but today will be more of the same. Working today, then off to a Memphis Grizzlies game tonight (scored a free ticket from a colleague), which should be fun. I'll make sure to eat before I go, and just keep a banana in my purse or something.

Was able to get a workout in this morning, though I was only really able to do legs and some push-ups as well as 45 minutes on the elliptical. Tomorrow, I may be able to get some upper body and abs in, so we'll see.

Anyhow, back to work I go. Have a great day!

Just a curious question about maintenance.
I noticed that Michelle mentions a "range" and I've seen others mention it in their posts. What is considered a range when we go into maintenance? Is there a magic way of calculating it?

Oh my... I am very sore today. Squats, squats with weights, and lunges every morning this week and an hour of Zumba, with squats, last night. Ouch... but, it's worth it.

I have been within my calorie range all week. My reward is new exercise pants. emoticon

Just flying in quick this morning-
Another trip to Y planned after school/work this afternoon. I seem to be maintaining on the high end of range the last month, and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

I pre-track during the week. I eat breakfast and lunch at work, so that goes in for sure. Dinners are as I plan them. I love leftovers so that I can copy the group! emoticon Last night we took my Mom to a very special occasion restaurant. I estimate my meal at about 2 days worth of calories. It didn't seem like overeating, but two drinks and a nice steak pretty much make a day's calories for little old me! Add in salad, dessert, a few bites of a starter, an amuse boche and a few truffle fries and voila! You're over 2000 calories for the meal. I did get out for a little walk yesterday and my weight is the same as it was yesterday, but for my usual pattern it should be lower on Friday. By weighing every day I know that my weight goes up and then comes back down again during the week in a fairly regular pattern. On to Friday!

MAREE - I do that almost every day. Lately the bad habits have been creeping in, though. I know how much I have left, so I cheat a little and then don't log the food. I need to get better about logging every single bite, but yes, pre-logging food helps me a ton.

Down quite a bit on the scale this morning, which is weird after I drank quite a bit of wine last night. Not feeling so hot this morning :-/

If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?

Good Morning!

I basically eat the same things for breakfast and lunch. Dinner I eat most everything I cook for my family unless it's red meat. Then I just eat the veggies or make myself a salad or something. It seems to work for me. When we go out for dinner, I tend to eat lighter, but I've allowed myself cheat foods now and so far I haven't over done it.

No big plans for the weekend. Treadmill run this morning and laundry and a bit of work around the house. Meeting my sister and BIL for dinner and drinks tonight.

Have a great day!

Happy Friday everyone! Didn't come a moment too soon for me. I always track in advance and it is very helpful for staying on track.

I decided to take a rest day of sorts - I'll still do my morning and evening walk, but nothing high-impact. I had some hard workouts this week and my body is asking for one.

I like tracking food in advance, too, and I do believe it helps me stay on course. Yesterday was one of those horrendously stressful days and the third one in a row, if you recall my rant from yesterday. Teleworking again today thanks to Office of Personnel Management responding to the forecast for wintry weather in the afternoon. OPM has been harshly criticized over some recent decisions to sent people home after the bad weather started, only to snarl the roads so badly that it took some people up to 10 hours to get home. So I got more sleep last night, and so far the day is quiet...please let it remain so.

Yes, Maree, DD is for Dear Daughter :)
And I love the idea of pre-tracking! I have to admit, though, that I do not track Friday night dinner - it is our one splurge of the week and I actually try to bank points "just in case" we have pasta. It's not that I splurge big, but eating out is difficult for me to track because we usually choose to go to one of a couple restaurants and they are rather obscure. It's the only meal of the week that we do not cook at home.
I started the day with the Ripped in 30 dvd and feel good and ready to tackle this day. I hope everyone has a terrific lead into the weekend!

Ok... today's going to be THE day that I stop falling down this slippery slope of bad habits. I was actually within range yesterday, even though I was still carb-heavy. I went to the first "Quilt Block of the Month" session last night and was sent home with delicious, organic, mini-cupcakes. I ate one for breakfast today, and my theory is if I give myself refined sugars first thing, I won't crave them all day long.

The Big Boss is having an Edible Arrangement delivered today for my boss's bday, so if the carb withdrawals hit, I'll have plenty of healthy sugars to munch on!

Tonight I've got a long workout scheduled, and maybe I'll top it off with a yoga dvd when I get back home. Sadly, I have to return a really good one to the library tomorrow.

Working 8-5 today and looking forward to my little sister coming over to lend a hand this weekend and help to keep my older sister's spirits up. Just having someone else to go and visit with her is a BIG help. I was able to get her settled into rehab yesterday, but it is a bit further away than the hospital, so I can't just "swing by" for a short visit on lunch etc. She'll be there 6-8 weeks, so at least I'll have a chance to get set in some sort of regime and I have a long weekend coming up next weekend and a chance to get caught up FINALLY!!! Nutritionally did really well yesterday. Going to have to stay focused to keep it going with company in town, but with the running around, maybe we won't have so much time to eat!

I have also tracked in advance and helped me stay on track. I need to do that regulary!

TOM has really got the best of me this week but I finally pushed myself to get moving last night. I did the spark people 30 minute total body challenge. I didn't have the energy so it really kicked my butt.

Today will be a better day. My husband is coming home from visiting his ailing dad. I stayed up late turbo cleaning the house after my workout.

Bring on the Friday!

I do so like the idea of tracking in advance and I think it helps me be clear headed when I eat. I don't always do it, but when I do it pays off. Thanks, Maree.

I'm having a good week getting back into full exercise mode. I was sick a few weeks ago and I have been building back up to more strenuous wo's.

I hope everyone has a healthy, productive and fun weekend! emoticon

I like the days when I eat in my perfect range (about 1400 cals for me) - today wasn't one of those. I was over. But I also walked 12K steps, so I'm hoping it balances out.

Good morning! Yaaay Friday!!! Have you ever filled in your nutrition tracker in the morning in anticipation of your meals and then, when offered other choices, declined because you didn't want to take the time to change your tracker? That happened to me yesterday--and I may have hit upon a great way for me to stay in my lower range! I usually track the food I eat routinely (same breakfast, coffee, yogurt etc), but wait to add entree lunch and dinner items and then have trouble getting them added. Cyclefit class was tough, but boring.

Today is eliptical 30 min and then RIPPED class for 60 min. I'm going to try tracking meals in advance again too. The exciting news is Daughter and Granddaughter are coming to my house! (does the abbreviation "DD" stand for Dear Daughter?--I am learning)

Hope all have a happy and healthy day!
