Staying the course. I had a face to face meeting of a SP team today at a Starbucks. Had a cup of Earl Gray tea and nothing else. There was a restaurant down the street I was wanting to try. They had what looked to be several pretty healthy menu items. I got there at 5:10. They were supposed to open for dinner at 5pm but were still closed :(. God's way of telling me I should eat at home tonight I guess!

Continuing to hold steady within a 1-2 pound range of goal weight. Have upped my fitness activity and as a result SparkPeople told me to recalculate. I did and happily see a higher calorie level available. However, I intend not to abuse that ability to eat a bit more and will still focus on staying near the middle of the calorie range.

Hi all, I am feeling under the weather which is very cold. I walked my little doggy Dusty 3 times and will walk one more before bed. I am worrying about him because it is so cold. Sometimes he will not stay out very long if it is cold. Best wishes, Linda from bean town

Eating around the top of my range, averaging about 6000 steps a day (we had a few travel days) - doing so-so, but not where I want to be. Working on both the nutrition and fitness, plan to add steps today.

Down 2 lbs this morning. YAY!
What I really hope is the reason for my loss is that I've finally stopped the cycle of binging that was going on here. It was every 5 days or so, and now for 14 days I have kept within range for calories consumed. I've been under on calories burned since I'm sick, but not binging is what I hope is helping with the weight.

Boy, it feels good to be checking in again after a week out of town. Work conference went great, I felt I did a great job of balancing enjoying myself and staying within my goal ranges. The extended weekend was rough, and I'm still trying to overcome the urge to stuff my face with cake.
Speaking of cake... my boss's bday lunch was today so I ate a 1000-calorie meal already. Dinner will have to be on the leaner side.
I've switched out my office chair for a stability ball this morning. So far I'm having fun bouncing at my desk. When I have to reach for something I can no longer roll to the other side of the office, so I'm forced to stand.

Good luck kitty! For my cardio today I did some improvised aerobics in the living room while my tot watched finding Nemo. I love that show so much. I used to be a total Marlin. I may have gone too far the other way of being like Crush. "duuuuude"
I also put a little time into my fitness playlist, but I didn't finish. Just went through enough songs to get a day or two of workouts,

I took it easy yesterday, just doing a few errands, like getting a tire repaired. Choir practice last night which is more of a workout than you might think. Back to work today, so swamped I wonder why I even care anymore! Weight up a bit due to sodium and lack of water. Back to the grind...

LOGOULD- Hope things improve quickly for your sister--Glad you were able to get to church--I know how much it helps me to stay grounded, especially when I'm in crisis.
Jane--I second that on the smartwool socks!! I have 2 pair--love them all year long! I lost one pair though-I keep thinking that I must have a bag of workout clothes packed up like a good girl somewhere that I forgot where I stashed...I miss them:)

Good morning team.
Had a good day yesterday with food and nutrition. Let the girls help cook supper and we did a kids yoga video after. They loved it! And I loved that they loved it!
Got up early and did an hour yoga dvd this morning. Having a pretty productive morning at work. It was in the 20s here this morning and I almost feel bad saying it, but supposed to hit 60 this afternoon. YAY!

Thomasina: I swear by Smartwool socks, especially when I run in the cold. They keep my feet toasty at the beginning of my run, and when I start sweating, they wick away the sweat and keep my feet comfortable and dry. They're a bit pricey ($14/pair at a running shop), but SO worth it!
It's cold here too.. yesterday I bundled up for my walk.. double socks, winter boots, fleecy under my big jacket and I felt so huge!! I get chilblains..sore red toes in the winter, so need to really keep those toes warm.. they are acting up now, so hopefully the winter boots will help. I love going outdoors in all weather as do the dogs!!

Brrrrrr! Baby, it's cold outside!
I'm sore and that's good. I'd rather be sore from building muscle than sore from obesity.
I tried a new recipe last night. Blah. I promised the family that I would never make it again. They all ate it, and that made me proud. But it wasn't very tasty. Healthy, yes mostly... tasty, no.

Sorry I haven't checked in for a few days. Last Friday, I got home from work to discover my older (handicapped) sister laying on the floor, where she had been for 3 1/2 hours. Sspent the night in the ER, worked Saturday, back to the hospital after work and stayed there through her surgery Saturday night until she was out of recovery. Much needed church on Sunday AM and some visiting at the hospital and discussion with the Dr. Work yesterday and more visits and conversations with the Drs. Finally have a few moments today. Nutrition was horrible on Saturday, but aside from that, I am handing in there. Hoping t o get things settled down by the end of this week and find some time to get in some fitness - other than running around in circles trying to keep the house running and the job and find time to check in on sis.

Kitty, hope you feel better soon!
I'm with those of you who prefer NOT to be outside in the cold. Bad sinus night for me (= no sleep), so I elected to telework today rather than get up at 4 am for a commute with temps in the lower 20s F. Still snuggled in my fleecy robe.
Great walking weekend, though. Walked/hiked 28 miles Saturday through Monday in volksmarches around my county. Bring on that Mardi Gras challenge weigh-in.

The cold and wind is a real pain! Not as bad today as it was yesterday though. Took my youngest son with me to the Y for a workout last night-- I bribed him with a ride home (since it was too cold to make him walk), but we were going to the Y before heading home. He grumbled a bit, but in the end-- I was all done and ready to leave, and he had wanted to extend his stay, because he had found a friend to work out with. I took him out for Chinese afterwards (shrimp and mixed veggies), and he talked about how excited he is to start being more active and to make better food choices more often than he already does! I'm so proud of him!

Ate at about maintenance yesterday, instead of to lose 1/2 a week. I was just really hungry last night. Today probably won't be much better - lunch with a client today, which means I'll have no idea how many calories I'm eating. Oh well.

Just a hit-and-run check-in this morning while I eat my breakfast. Eating oatmeal and drinking green tea, did my workout this morning too. Today's one of my early days at work, so I have to get out the door soon. Have a great day!

It is extremely cold here. It should be the last day though.
When my dad died a few yrs ago, we made it more of an upbeat Memorial Service instead of the crying, etc. The flowers were bright, happy colors and not typical funeral arrangements. It really made a difference.
Today is going to be a rest day. Not because I want to, but because my knee has decided to give me some problems. At least I got in a really good workout yesterday morning.
Everyone try and stay warm today!

Good morning. I had a pretty sedentary day watching the inauguration yesterday, though did get in a respectable number of activity steps on my fitbit. Eating, not so good. Fortunately this was an unusual day for me and I am headed back to routine and action today.
You got me thinking about celebration of life. One of the few things I have of my mother's (she died several years ago) are her red leather walking gloves. She was an intrepid walker in her retirement. Two miles a day, rain or shine, hot or cold. I found the gloves in the old jacket she used to wear walking. I cherish them and they inspire me.

Mornin all! Sorry to hear you are still in the house because of the ice Irene. When I woke up an hour ago and turned on the radio, they said it is 1 here in the Chicago area.
Anyhoozer, better get it in gear. It's going to be a easy day today. I ran last night, it wasn't great, I was disappointed since I had a great run on Friday. Could be the workout I did early yesterday morning was too much.
I pushed myself anyway just to get the calorie burn going. So just some walking breaks at work and maybe yoga tonight.

Looks like lots of you are dealing with cold weather, except for Sue of whom I'm very jealous right now. I'm with Catmagnet. Off to the gym to hang in on the treadmill as long as I can.

skipped the run yesterday, thighs are still too sore from adapting to living at the top of a steep hill (every time we walk anywhere, the walk starts down this hill, and my things have been complaining - one of these days they will have to adapt...). may try the run today (still walking down the steep hill).

I seem to be struggling with the same two pounds...up and down. Fortunately this morning, I'm back down to 153.8, and about to head to the gym to do my run (low 20s out there...NOT going to run outdoors!).
Food continues to be a bit of a struggle too. I'm nutritionally sound, but just not sure where I'm supposed to be range-wise. I question the SparkPeople nutrition tracker these days, but we'll see when I do my official weigh-in on Thursday morning, before I do my run and then head to Tunica, MS for one day of a conference I've been working on for the past 6 months.
At least I slept well last night, so I'm happy about that.
Alright, time for me to head out for my run and get ready for my day. Have a TERRIFIC Tuesday, everybody!

Kicking myself this morning for NOT putting gas in the car yesterday when the weather was better. 20-30 mph gusts of wind and 17 degrees and I have to travel to the work site first thing this morning. Yuck!

Had a great time downhill skiing yesterday with the kids. It was my sons first time. I got up way too early today so my only plan for exercise today is shoveling snow. Not sure if the kids will have school today, going to go check now. Hope you all have an awesome day!

Hi onTuesday am I have my house cleaners here today so I can be a lady of leisure once every two weeks. Still house bound due to ice. There's blue sky and sun this morning yet is -6 . It's warm at home! Maree The celebrations of life are better than a n old style funeral I agree. I have been to a few memorable and emotional ones. Surely no one would speak ill of the dead! When my farther in law died I was asked what he had been like so it could be mentioned at his funeral. I said frankly I can't say in all honesty he was a good father or grandfather. But he was a hard worker strictly honest and doted on his dog . They were the only virtues I could find but I suppose they are not too bad to be spoken at his funeral . Ree

Good Tuesday morning! I hope those team mates suffering from colds, etc. are feeling better today. Yesterday morning I attended a "celebration of life" service for a client who died last week. It was one of the most moving "funeral" services I have ever been to and left me deeply reflective on my own life and those close to me who are becoming aged. Several grandchildren wrote pieces which were either delivered by the pastor or themselves. We are setting examples with our lives--how will we be viewed? For all of us on this board, it will include healthy fitness and nutrition.
For me today, it's 30 min cardio and 60 min pilates this morning. I've got some lean meat thawed to do some cooking so I need to get busy tonight so I have some lunches to pack.
Hope everyone has a great day!
