It's a little bit of a challenging/stressy weekend... the "no" thing on Friday (did stairs and went to bed), my BFF being in town and getting to spend time with her out on the town (lovely to see her, but harder food choices, eliminated some exercise time). Today is the anniversary of my brother's death. On the good side, I had an amazing hike this morning with another friend, and I am becoming ADDICTED to frozen bing cherries. (Not a bad treat!)

Checking in kinda late, because DH went on two volksmarches today: an 11K hike at Leesylvania State Park (Virginia) and a 10K city walk in Manassas. It felt good to get out with him on long walks, which we love. The front came through in between, so while we were really warm on the first walk, we really needed our jackets in the gusty NW winds on the second.

Slow and steady. Went to a local Bagel shop for dinner before a concert last night. We were the last ones there and they were locking the doors. We got up to leave and they gave us 3 HUGE bags of bagels and Kaiser rolls. We had time, so we came home and I bagged them up in zip locks and took them to the concert. I saw a few people I knew there and gave them each some. This morning after Mass I gave them out to others I know. I kept 4 (frozen, to be doled out judiciously!) and feel great that I could share them and not wear them!

Got an update on that run: ended up doing 12.75 miles in 2:06! Bring on that Half Marathon, baby...and I'm signing up for another one in May that I'll run/walk with my sister-in-law when we get together in Pittsburgh. :)
Called my Mom first thing this morning to wish her a happy 90th birthday. I'm celebrating with her on either side of her birthday and leaving today for her "gentleman friend". Singing in the church choir this morning, don't know what the rest of the day will bring. Had a two meal day yesterday and stayed under on calories. Weight continuing it's slow downward trend.
I had a super productive day yesterday. Got some cooking done and fruit/veggies cut up for the week. Will try to get a few chores done today.
It is actually supposed to be pretty here. Upper 50s! Going out for a few miles with a couple friends this afternoon. They don't run full time so it will be run/walk intervals. Still a great workout and will be nice to have company.

The cold blast finally arrived!!! After a nice walk in mild temps yesterday morning, the weather has taken a drastic turn. It's going to be an inside day today. DH has tomorrow off so maybe we'll run some errands in the morning or we'll just stay inside where it is warm.

Down a pound at my weigh-in, hurray! Getting ever closer to my goal! Once I'm done on here, I'll be making some bran muffins and doing my morning dance workout. I'm just hanging around the house today, which makes it easy to meet all my goals. Happy Sunday all!

good morning! finally got my first run of the year yesterday. DH is sick(er) again, and stayed in bed, so pelle the border collie and i headed out for a 5 mile run. we topped out the day with a 2.5 mile walk in the late afternoon - i felt the munchies headed my way and figured the best thing to do was to walk them off and then come home and make dinner. it worked. nutrition went well - another bean salad, as DH says we are eating so healthy so why can't he get healthy:-((
have a great sunday

Winter weather has finally struck here. VERY cold! My dog is pacing, waiting for her walk. I'm going to need several layers this morning. Ugh!
I had a session with my trainer yesterday. EVERYTHING hurts this morning! That's a good thing I know, getting stronger. Need to get some housework and laundry done today. That will be all the activity I can manage today. Need to heal!
After my binge that finished yesterday morning after Friday night's debaucle, I finally decided that I need to portion out a couple of trigger foods once the package is opened, so hopefully, that will help deter me a bit.
I cooked some Black Bean chicken overnight, so the apartment smells wonderful. Going to make some creamy Italian chicken stew today, once the slow cooker is washed out, which I'll do after I post this message.
I'll also be doing my long run for the week, starting in about an hour. I'm hoping to do 11 miles today, so here's hoping!
It's still wintery weather here, yesterday we were taken to a Baptism service which was lovely and very moving. Today we are asked to our sons home for Sunday lunch and an 8th birthday party. Family only today he had a snowball party yesterday with his friends. What more do boys need than snow and friends to aim at! I will be glad to see the end of this white stuff. Ree

Good morning! Yesterday we had one of those 60+ degree days and sunshine, the kind of day that gets you through the winter and provides hope for spring. Now the arctic blast is headed our way (ugh). I managed to get a walk in at the park with daughter and granddaughter in the afternoon and then around the block after dinner. Lots of shopping, which I don't really enjoy any more.
I didn't get a chance to log nutrition--I know I'm off routine as daughter baked and cooked, and I tend to snack when the baby snacks and I don't need the calories like she does.
Today we plan to go to church and I'll run the block to see if I can find the baby's sippy cup that she dropped last night. Then the drive home later in the day (2 hrs) and catching up on newspapers etc before the new work week starts. It should be a quiet day at work with a lot of people having a holiday - Martin Luther King's birthday. The next holiday for our office is Memorial Day. Happy Sunday!!!
