I chose to weigh and report on 15th of each month . My birthdate is 15th.
I can report I lost the pound or two I put in over Christmas , plus a pound I am happy over that . I am 142 lbs. now

Super cold day here, and I had no choice but to bike in it (maybe 10 miles all told?). I guess it's kind of good that we made an eco-choice to have only one car for the family (and my hub needed it today), because I was FORCED to exercise. ;-) I've been trying to up my beans and nuts.

I made a New Years resolution skillet, out of a bunch of healthy foods we should have been eating which were about to go bad because we have been avoiding them. It was actually really good. Maybe I'll upload the picture I took to impress my foodie friends. The ones who eat flax seeds and persimmons all the time.
My body composition check, which I blogged about, gave pause as to whether I'm ready to maintain vs. losing really slowly. If the number are correct, 34% of the weight I lost in the fall was lean, and 31% of the weight since October has been lean. I guess it's good that number is going down. It was still disconcerting.
Losers Keepers Motivation for Maintenance:
sinusitis, ear infxn and bronchitis. I'm feeling pitiful. But it's good to sit and read about all of your plans for the day. Helps me feel a part of life. I just started antibiotics so I hope to feel much better in a day or so.

I hear ya on the hibernation thing! I was REALLY fighting to keep moving and resist the snacks yesterday.
I gave in a couple times but I have meals and snacks planned for today. Tonight I'm going to the gym to meet my new trainer. The one I had left.
I have one 15 minute walk done. Hope to have time this afternoon for one more!

Weight is up 5 pounds above goal- hasn't been that way in a while. Having a hard time with salty cravings, so I'm sure that's a contributor. I'm down this morning from yesterday though :)

No wonder I didn't want to crawl out of bed this morning- it's a hibernation theme going on here- I don't feel like such a slug now :)

Scale wasn't kind to me, am now at 188.6 despite all of my best efforts. Instead of obsessing over the scale, I'm going to focus on inches lost instead. I'm beside myself with confusion and frustration.
Going to do about 15 min of cardio/ strength training before rehearsal tonight.
Trying to stay positive.

I feel like hibernating too! It's hard to keep motivated to go outside when it's cold, but the dogs keep me on track!

Count me in for hibernation! I'm feeling kind of burned out at work. I did OK on food yesterday, I'm having fun with the "use what you've got" thing I've got going for January. I made a sweet potato/brown butter/bacon risotto yesterday. Amazed that I wasn't over on fat grams for the day! Activity-wise yesterday wasn't so good. I couldn't even bring myself to work on my music. All I wanted to do was watch TV and websurf. Onward!

It's freezing here in Oregon, as well! It seems like it's getting colder here even as the days are slowly starting to get longer again (shocking to see the sun still out at 5:30). It was a great weekend for being active, even though I had to work on Saturday, but my 5 mile run yesterday left me with a blister on the arch of my left foot. I guess that means it's time for some new running shoes. I definitely want to buy some and break them in before my race in 2 weeks. The best advice for maintenance that I ever got came from this team, which was to find something I love to do to keep me motivated since losing your motivation to lose weight is no longer there. Today is a light exercise day, though. Just planning a 45 minute pilates/ballet fusion workout. Love me some Ellen Barrett and barefoot cardio (and avoiding running in 19 degree weather)! I hope everyone has a great and productive day!

Tried a new strength training workout this morning that was much harder than I thought it was going to be. Excited to see my improvement.

ARGH! It's FREEZING here in Memphis...definitely got my space heater going in my little plot of the cube farm here at work.
Food still ended up being bad yesterday, but I think I got it all out of my system. Did my usual 90 minutes of strength training this morning, ate healthy pre- and post-workout and am ready to take on the day. I think that in light of how stressful this month is being and how I know next month will be as well, I'm going to focus on maintenance.
Going swimming this afternoon and may also see about getting a walk in. Will see how many steps I have at the end of the day at work, then I'll decide.

Toni, where are you in VA? In northern VA, the sun never came out yesterday, and the fog returned with a vengeance in the evening. During the night, though, the front must have started to push through, because it was sprinkling but otherwise good visibility this morning. Now the ceiling has lifted, and I think I actually see a break in the clouds on the northwest horizon.
I enjoyed yesterday's cool, damp weather, because the conditions were perfect for a 15K volksmarch with my walking group.

We're all over the weather map this morning, aren't we? Of course, since we're all over the world. It's raining and damp here in central VA.
Monday morning means it's off to the gym for a short treadmill run followed by aerobics/weights class.
Choral rehearsal tonight. Back to my old routine.

yesterday was a heavy work day for me, catching up on all the deadlines for jobs ordered before the holidays, but we still managed to get 10,000 steps in - almost 5 miles. did not make it to the beach, though. managed to consume all the vegetables and fruit we bought last week, and will restock today.

I really should get on the scale; I know I've dropped some weight. I think that would be the most obvious change in 'me' since starting SP. I used to be obsessed with the scale. I'm not anymore. It's there, like a good friend waiting to listen if I need to emote but content to just be dusted off every-so-often.

Good morning and hibernating sounds just grand to me in January. Last night the sun came out in Virginia at end of day and the temp hit the high 60's. We sat on our dock at sunset--lovely too. It all seems good to me.
I am back on track with exercise after being sick last weekend. Going to try a new healthy recipe tonight. Wishing everyone a good start of the week!

There was snow this morning with forecast of more to come, we walk everywhere or use public transport so are very cautious of going out in bad weather.My dear husband volunteered to walk to the small supermarket nearby to get basics. So sent him off with a shopping list. See how the goods he brings home often never were on my list , but I do not grumble. I m hibernating, it's a good day to look up recipes and do cooking, have a good day where ever you are. Irene

Good morning! Hopefully, I'm starting this thread accurately today. I guess I've been distracted with work--deadlines this week so I had to work all weekend. I must admit, I am a little unhappy and resentful about that and those emotions are one element of my weight maintenance journey. Today is 30 min cardio and a 60 min ST class, and a pure protein day. The sun is supposed to shine, which will be a welcomed change even if it is cold.
