I forgot to change the date this morning when I started the thread -- this is yesterday's (Saturday's) thread. Whoops...

Today's date is January 13th, 2013. I have lost more weight. I am below my goal weight now. I walked three times today and will walk my little doggy Dusty one more time today. I am eating smaller portions and feel full. Best wishes to all, Linda from bean town

Walked almost 4 miles, ate at upper end of range - not bad for a travel day!

Did really well with my activity level today, not so good on the food front. But I can so it!

ALMOST back in my maintenance range, after gaining 16 pounds (much of it fluid, but some of it "real weight") due to IVF and subsequent pregnancy and miscarriage (lost both twins, one after the other -- so it kind of dragged on and on...). Also, started out the IVF near the top of my maintenance range due to an injury before that (no running, or much exercise allowed). After being up as high as 166, I've been at 156 the last few days. I was at about 154 when I started the IVF back in October.
Will be trying to get to the lower end of my maintenance range (somewhere below 150) before trying IVF again in February. Unfortunately can't take a longer break due to my age (40). But focusing on my health is helping with the emotional aspect. In addition to trying to lose, I'm focusing on eating well (not just low cal), and getting in the best physical shape I can.
Currently maintaining within 5 lbs. (+ or -) of goal. I weigh daily, but also use a tape measure and the fit of my clothes to guage how well I'm doing.

Mj, you look fabulous! Isn't being the same weight a GREAT thing on maintenance?? Way to go! I feel for you Maryellen, when I was a member of Curves I was disappointed in the lack of weekend hours. The weekend is when I have the MOST free time to work out!! I quit Curves though when I discovered I qualified for a free city liesure card because of low (disability) income. Only hassle is they are too far away to walk to so I can't get there if its too cold or too much snow as my scooter can't navigate snow and gel batteries die quick in the cold.. Curves, however was only a 2 block walk :( But I love the variety of fitness classes I can go to. Nothing like changing up your workouts to keep it interesting! Have a super Sunday everyone

Can I ask an odd question, everyone talks about their range, is there some magic number you guys have come up with on your own, or is there something on sparkpeople's site that talks about what we should weigh? I think I am at a good spot but just curious when everyone talks about their range. . .

Eating well. Down another .5 pound. Went for a Curves workout (unusual for me on a Sat.) and found they changed their hours. I got there 10 minutes after they closed. Apparently they are only open 2 hours on Sat. now

Back on the grid after being away at a professional conference all week. Love catching up with everyone, though it's sad so many people are suffering from allergies, illnesses, and injuries. Hope everyone is back to 100% soon!

Oh, I see what happened--I started a thread earlier, but it was under "Just for Fun" instead of "General Team Discussion Forum" -- sorry... I guess that's understandable as it was one of those nights where I was up way too early. I did manage to go back to sleep--after all, it's Saturday!!!
Linda...sorry to hear about the pain you are having to endure. Your situation really leaves me saddened and, well, speechless.

my issues are usually pretty much the same every day so I haven't checked in because who wants to hear a broken record lol. I can't stay asleep because of severe pain in spite of being on slow release narcotics. I go great guns on exercise as its the only thing that eases the pain. I can't sit or lay down very long before the pain builds up (only a swiss ball seems to be okay for sitting for any length of time). Its going to be investigated, but while I enjoy everything free in medical care here in Canada (except drugs), the wait lists for special tests (like a bone scan for cancer activity) can take a year or longer to get in :( Of course, I am like a zombie most days and on top of that allergies and sinus issues keep me snacking on salty things as it eases my raw throat. I can't think clearly and make simple errors in my job as manager of a busy bridge club, very frustrating. To add to that its been a very long cold winter with enough snow I can't get to my fitness classes that I love so much. it started in mid Oct and hasn't let up. i walk to the club every day except weekends in -30 C (-22F) weather. Fortunately today there is no wind as I have to go to the store to pick ups some meds. Enjoy your weekend all

187.6, still in my maintenance range (lost a pound) and I'm still eating very well. Didn't reach my goal for the week, but I get closer everyday. Proud of myself. Got about 30 min of fitness activity in last night despite the coughing. Look forward to more today. It's been a while since I've exercised because of my illness, but I get better everyday.
Have an audition for a musical today, wish me luck!

Good morning. Rest day planned for me today. Well no exercise at least! I have some housework that needs to be done. Have my dinners planned and grocery list made, just need to buy groceries.
Did an amazing job on exercise this week. Nutrition was great with a few indulgences mixed in.
Everyone have a great weekend.

Off to a group called "wisdom on the move." DH and I are the youngest there and we love it! First time out in two days - stayed on the couch. Much needed as I feel a little better. Foods are not so good - calorie count not the problem as much as what I am eating. Need to get a handle on it and take time out today to figure out what I am thinking. It is funny to me that I have to slow down, take some time to know what my mind is saying but thats how it works for me.

Good morning! Looks like we have two check-in threads going this morning :) Yesterday was great. Got to the Y for ST and cardio. Came home to flowers smuggled into my room from my OH and a sweet card. It made my day. Don't know what's on the agenda for today. Have a great Saturday!

Good Morning!
It's a rest day for me today. I've worked out everyday this week and my knees really need a break. Went out for dinner last night. I had both healthy and unhealthy foods. I am in the process of introducing unhealthy foods back into my diet. Just as occasional though and I'm making a point of leaving some on my plate. So far, so good.
I have a couple of errands to run today and a couple of loads of laundry to do, but that's about it. Not sure what I'll do the rest of the day.
Enjoy!

I went to sleep last night all enthusiastic about my planned "long" (over 5 miles) run this morning. Darn it! I woke up all sniffly with an itchy not scratchy throat. Ugh! I'm pretty sure it's allergies, but what set me off in my own bed? Coffee and antihistamine are making me feel better, so at this point I still plan to go. I would hate to miss out on this perfect weather. It's 42* at 7:30 and clear.
The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running.

I am usually first in on most teams as I m in England, Checking in on Saturday lunch time. I planned an easy day on card making, but had. 2 long phone calls which set me back! I m not complaining as they were 2 sons calling me for a chat which I enjoyed . Card making can be done another day. Ree

Sounds like a fun morning! Just after 6am here in the Chicago area. I'm waiting for the sun to come up so I can take my lab for a walk.
Not sure what my workout will be today. I did the Spark People 30 minute body challenge last night, still feeling that!!! Always works me, I love that DVD!
I hope it's a great day for everyone!

Hey, good morning. It's almost 7 am on the east coast of the US and it's unusual for me to be first checking in so late in the day. I hope everyone is getting their beauty rest wherever they are, and resting up for a great day ahead.
I'm heading out for a walk with a friend--always fun--then going to my quarterly book group. Seven of us will talk our heads off and have a great time. The book? Not as important as the time together.
Have fun today, Spark mates!
