Hey, everyone. I am back to losing--I hope that weight I gained over Christmas is still "loose" and will come off--LOL. Too many people here -- my girls are home from college/internship -- and I am eating too much. And we have candy around--I can't just pitch it although I should.
Today was an ST day so tomorrow will be cardio--I think I will go hiking before a meeting at work--should get a good 20 minutes in, I hope! Hubby is out of town for a funeral--his side so I didn't need to go as well.

Kitty, do keep checking in and draw on the group's energy!
Brooklyn, crackers are doing me in, too, specifically Triscuits, the rosemary and olive oil ones. I am getting back to my daytime routine, but too many evenings see me munching mindlessly with rail-thin MIL in front of the TV. She leaves tomorrow, so I need to get my evenings sorted out again.
Maintained through the holidays, but some days were not easy or pretty.

Good morning, everyone!
Now I understand why Swede LOVES her Fitbit! I've now had mine for a week, and it's been freeing to not have to stress so much about tracking my fitness. It also inspires me to move more during my workday, and I'm actually more productive. Although I got 10k steps and 20 floors by 6:30 this morning (6 mile run with my running group), my goal is to get 20k steps and 30 floors by the time I go to the gym tonight for step and Zumba.
I totally get what everyone is talking about with food in December and getting back to a more normal routine. I know it's been a bit of a struggle for me as well, but I'm getting there. I'm still trying to figure out where I TRULY want to settle weight-wise, though...I'm so close to the healthy BMI number (10 more pounds) and I know that I still need to lose a little weight if I want to get rid of the fat I want (currently at 29.9% - want to get to 25%). I'm sure I'll figure it out when I'm ready. In the meantime, I'm just keeping on keeping on...and it looks like this weekend, I have more clothes shopping to do. The pants I'm wearing (size 12) are hanging off my hips right now!
So hope everyone has a great day today...and Kitty, hang in there! ::hugs::
Well, last night's gathering was not my finest hour, maintenance wise. I ate dinner before I went and STILL grazed way too much. On the plus side, that was absolutely, positively the LAST holiday gathering! I'm still bloaty and uncomfortable, but I'm hoping things right themselves in the next day or two. Getting back into a regular routine and normal eating will help! We'll get through this rough patch!

Good morning all!
DH went back to work this morning and the girls don't go until Monday. I'm playing hooky from the office and doing the stay at home mom gig. I should go to the grocery store and do some cooking for the freezer today. It is just so cold out there!
I've been doing good on food and exercise the last few days so the scale was kind to me this morning. Cardio day for me. Will get on the treadmill sometime today.
Everyone have a great day!!

AMEN Zennith. As opposed to knowing what my :normal: weight is going to be, I ALREADY know what my diet is supposed to be like. And when I eat at that level I am aggressively hungry before meals and snacks, and satisfied after, then full of energy most of the day. Extra over that is just not necessary. What my body looks like is not really the issue.

I am at a plateau, not maintenance, is what I keep telling myself. Three weeks with no change on the scale, but considering we just finished the holiday season I'll take this. My goal is to get 10,000 steps per day, and last nite it meant running around the cul-de-sac a few times in the cold, but I did it. Once I break this plateau, I know I will make that final swoop toward my goal.

Good morning group! I'm still struggling but at least I'm checking in - right?

Good Morning!
Yesterday could've been a good day if not for the 3 breadsticks from Olive Garden and the donut I ate in the afternoon. My sugar tooth has been really bad lately. I was down another lb yesterday then I put it and another back on. Frustrating! I felt so guilty eating what I ate yesterday. That's the feeling I need to get rid of because it makes me feel like I'm dieting.
Today I'll be working out on the treadmill again. Hoping the weather warms up a bit by the weekend so I can get outside and run.
Have a great day everyone!

Hey Brooklyn, I am SO with you. I stayed the same through December and that was a major success because there was so much holiday "stuff" everywhere. And I planned to maintain where I was. :). I guess I managed that one. Still, the thing about relaxing my vigilance right here, is it would be very easy for me to accept the weight I am now as okay, and continue what I can clearly see was overeating. Sure I am a "normal" weight now (barely). Sure I feel great. Still. What I was eating in November was plenty to sustain me. I have my records. December I ate an average over the month of 150 daily calories more than I did in November. Hmmm. Figures don't lie, but liars figure we used to say when I was in the accounting biz. The deal is, it was VERY difficult to return to the lower level on my range. My body was screaming for that extra little something. I was also feeling kind of draggy. Today after two days of white knuckle healthy eating (at a level that kept me satisfied thank you very much), I am beginning to get my groove back. I feel alive and healthy again.

MAREE, I've been doing the same thing lately. I was good at playing catchup and entering dinner/dessert the next morning, but now I've been cooking without weighing or writing down ingredients so I don't really know what I ate! I WILL do better. For a brief moment I toyed with the idea of not tracking food at all, but I've gained 3lbs since Sunday. Obviously I'm not ready for that step yet.
Yesterday was the end of the week long rest/recovery period, so I'm back to cramming in workouts after work :( Call me crazy, but I'm going to the gym at 6pm so I can cook dinner afterwards. The Resolution rush will be in full swing.. lets hope I get out of there with my sanity!

I'm joining everyone in getting real in the new year. December was NOT the real world. Mornings are going well. I'm very motivated and efficient then. My problem is mid afternoon. Perhaps I'm still in cruise mode or grandkids mode. Yesterday I dived into a box of wheat thins. DH & I did go for a 2 mile stroll in addition to my morning 3 miles, but that's not enough to balance a mountain of snack crackers. I'll do better today.

Good morning, friends. Nothing like the first week of January to get real with weighing and tracking. I did not gain over the holiday and I almost fainted on the scale seeing the same number. That said, I want to kick up my exercise and get stronger and I know that maintaining over the long haul is going to be a challenge.
My son is home from college and cooked for friends last night. He let his parents eat too! So proud of him and it's great to see his friends (who I knew in his high school years) gather now and have such a great time. And how did I get so lucky as to have a cooking son? It's really fun to share that with him. He tends to go the alfredo route a lot so I'm sampling more than eating when he cooks, but still.
Hope everyone has a solid week getting back on track.

MAREE1953 I feel the same about the scale. part of my blog today was about it too sounds like your getting sorted though.
I finally faced up to the last couple of months and stepped on the scale. I almost expected it to explode of tell me to get off but it didn't. Not keen on the number but I'm working on getting it back down to where I'm happier with it.
I've been on my stationary bike and done a short ST this morning, afternoon is for a run and then dentist. I want to add a few things to my ST routine for my shoulder and back over the next week or two so I'm working on that. I want to improve my posture and I'm hoping that will help.
Just over range on the cals (by 17 calories - I think - I'm not convinced each samosa has over 330 cals), but I've also walked my 10K steps, so we'll call this a good day.

Good morning team! I am awake really early--- I think this will be a year of transition at work and my thoughts have awakened me.
Yesterday I did a better job of tracking my nutrition. Lately I have tracked breakfast and lunch and snacks and then fail to enter dinner. So my pledge the next 30 days is to do a better job of tracking it all. Can I muster up the courage to also step on the scale every day? I need to sit with myself a bit and face the fear of whatever is holding me back from using the scale as a tool and not some measure of success or failure as a human being.
Today is pilates class and treadmill incline, speed interval routine.
Busy day ahead.
Happy Thursday to all!
