Hi guys. I've been MIA for a while... I'm getting licensed to teach, and this last semester really hit me upside the head. I am student teaching this semester, and my presence will be sporadic, but I would like to try to take better care of myself in the vein of "moderation."

Not starting the New Year where I'd like to be. My weight is up 5 lbs since Sunday! It's not comfortable and will go away soon. There's still that part of me that's saying, "Well, you're up this far, might as well eat that bag of chips." I didn't overeat at the party last night but only because I'd had a big dinner before we went. I did find out it was casual before we got there, but I still wore a dress. All the women there knew each other (except me), my husband was there with several of his friends from work...I sat and listened to the men talk, interjecting comments occasionally. My husband enjoyed himself, and that was the point. Sometimes you just have to take one for the team. We got home just after midnight. I'm still fighting a cold so slept in, waking to a frosty, sunny day. Let's make 2013 our best year yet!

good morning and happy new year! had a calm night at home with DH, we watched the 4th of july fireworks from the comfort of our loft - they are usually held on the saturday of thanksgiving weekend (forest fire risk in summer) but were canceled because of fog and held last night instead. a hot soak in the tub, watched our first episode of downton abbey on netflix (yay, a new series for us!), and read a cozy romance until almost midnight when we went to bed.
the new year has dawned FREEZING - 0 degrees F! - and unfortunately DH has caught my cold, so we will not be starting the new year with much energy, but at least weight is still good. if anyone had told me 12 months ago that i would weigh 102.2 today, i'd have laughed in their face...
have a great day and a wonderful new year!

Not having a great day. Had a wonderful meal with some fantastic friends last night to bring in the new year. I needed them and their support so much, and the brought it! I am very grateful for them. I'm hoping God will bring me the answers and opportunity I need to help me to figure out things that have me in a funk the last while. Have a great day everyone!

I had a great workout this morning. I'm doing much better than I usually do around the holidays.

Happy New Year everyone!
We had watched the ball drop on TV in bed. At midnight we had our first kiss of 2013 and promptly fell asleep.
I've written my goals in my two journals, as well as in a blog last week. This morning I also wrote down the blessings and accomplishments of the past year.
I'm looking forward to celebrating my one year ann of maintenance in February.
Getting company for a few nights this week. Not too concerned about overeating. I seriously don't think that will happen.

It's so great to come back and see everyone here and posting. Just small goals today. Substitute fruit for the cupcakes etc in plain sight in my kitchen Send the leftover goodies home with the grandkids tonight. A short run/walk this morning.

Good morning! Happy New Year!
Supposed to take the girls shopping with the money they earned in December (grades, behavior, chores). It is so cold! I don't wanna! But they have been going crazy to get out of the house so I guess I will bite the bullet.
Everyone have a great day!

Happy new year, everyone!
I had an absolute BLAST at the party last night, eating some good food (and I stayed in range!) and dancing the night away. I even caught the eye of a very good looking man that was at the party, so I gave him my number. We'll see what happens.
Sleep has been lacking the past couple of days, but I'm sure that I'll nap at some point today and I'll get back on schedule as far as sleeping tonight. I'm headed to Zumba and yoga this morning, and will get a run in this afternoon.
I'm also not going to worry about weight gain the next day or two, because I've had a TON of sodium. I'm just hoping that it gets back down to goal by Monday, but we'll see how it goes. I'll just make sure to control what I can (food, exercise, sleep) and just have faith that my body will do the rest. So I'll be mainlining water today.
Anyhow, I'm off to start my water and get my day started. Have a GREAT start to 2013, everyone! Thanks for helping me be accountable in 2012!
