I've lost 3.5 of the 6 pounds I gained over Christmas. So now only 3.5 over goal. Progress. I can return to Curves on Wednesday as my broken ribs are feeling much better and I know I can do the workout with very minimal pain. It'll feel good to get back to that routine. Entertaining tomorrow afternoon. Rack of Lamb but shrimp as an appetizer, and 2 veggies to go along with the lamb. And a low sugar dessert. All of us attending can do with a lighter meal to start the New Year off right. Happy New Year to all!

Hi team. My computer was acting up this morning, so just now getting to check in. I worked all day today :(( Got my normal Monday workout in (gaunlet 30 min, ST 60 min). Pretty gloomy day, no sunshine, but about an inch of snow. Hubby surprised me when I walked in the door with a ring of shrimp and cocktail sauce and .... lobster. He's a great cook, so this should be interesting. I've never had lobster--only a taste here and there from someone else who ordered it.
Glad to hear about all the happy partiers and fancy dresses. Hope you all have a great time. Quiet evening at home for us.
Thanks for making 2012 great and looking forward to sparking in 2013!!

Hello team!
Looks like we are having a quite night at home. Did a 30 minute kettlebell workout earlier and 3 miles run/walk intervals on the treadmill so I'm feeling pretty great.
Those of you who are going out, please be safe!

Got in a great workout this morning. Planning on going out for New Year's tonight for the first time in yearrrrrs. Don't much know what to expect or how to dress. Decided I'm only going to have 1 drink and will pack a granola bar for a snack in case I get hungry: good for my waist and my wallet. At least I don't have to worry about that!

I've done nothing but rest and try to get back on kilter since I've returned from Christmas at my parents'. My race is tomorrow morning, so no fitness minutes tonight either. I've volunteered to DD tonight since hangovers and running 6.2 miles don't mix. I'll let you guys know how it goes... I'm excited!

I hope everyone has a happy New Years Eve, no matter what you chose to do.. celebrate or watch it on TV.. I watch it on TV as staying up late is something that I''m terrible at..
I am still amazed that I reached goal weight in 2012 and my challenge is to maintain each and every week!

Wow, Jane, you do look fabulous in that dress! Wear it with pride and confidence!
Happy New Year's Eve, all! We will do our usual thing of toasting about 8 pm (because it's midnight somewhere), then going to bed. Without Dick Clark, the countdown is just not the same.

Happy New Year's Eve!
I started my day with boot camp (first time I've been back in 4 weeks, due to my knee!), then did strength training until I was like overcooked spaghetti. It felt GREAT! Will probably do some more cardio after lunch before I have to get ready for a party I'm going to tonight.
I'm ending the year with a pound left to lose after the Christmas feasting, but I'm not going to stress over it. I still feel amazing, and I have a BEAUTIFUL size 8 Calvin Klein one-shouldered black cocktail dress that I'm wearing tonight (took a preview picture that is on my SparkPage). When I tried it on, I felt the tears welling up and I immediately called my mom, because one of my goals when I lost the weight was to look gorgeous in a cocktail dress...and I did it!
Well, I'd better get a move on fulfilling one of my other goals for today: to ring in the new year with NO FAT CLOTHES in my closets or armoire. I have two bags filled already with stuff to donate to Goodwill, so it's time for me to fill more.
Have a MARVELOUS evening tonight, and here's to ending 2012 with a BANG! BE SAFE, EVERYONE!
ONEWEIGH, I'm guessing that jeans and a nice top would suit a bunch of computer engineers just fine! Relax and have fun!
Hanging in there and somehow keeping a low weight, despite indulgences that will soon stop!
All I ever do on New Year's is to shoo the old year out and the new year in through the front door, with a special, once-a-year apron my mom used. The same tonight!

Had a wonderful productive weekend this weekend. Made a long list of things I wanted to get done and got all but one done. I will do that one with my hubby tomorrow on his day off. Yesterday i kept so busy that I forgot to log in, so now I missed perfect attendance by one day!
We don't party so tonight is just another night. I will try to see the ball drop in NYC though. I like to wake up my hubby and give him a kiss at midnight! No plans for tomorrow, there will be no unusual eating going on.
I'm losing more of the travel/holiday weight. .5 pounds more till I get back to pre-vaca weight.

Not feeling good in my skin this morning. Family Christmas overindulgence and I'm up 5 pounds since Saturday. Ugh. We were up late and I woke many times in the night. We are to go to a party this evening that I'm anxious about, because I have no information. I don't know how I'm to dress, if we're expected to bring something...host is a former work friend of my husband's. He says, "It's middle aged computer engineers and their wives and it's OK if people leave by 10." That still doesn't tell me whether I'm supposed to wear something sparkly or jeans and a sweater. I'm just looking forward to Tuesday!

oh my! everyone must be sleeping late to be able to stay up tonight! here i am on the west coast, and it's already after 6 a.m. and no one has started the thread!
yesterday was gorgeous but frigid - subzero temp when we woke up and then the fog rolled in. when it disappeared and was replaced by vivid sunshine, every branch and leaf was coated in ice - amazingly beautiful. we went for a walk, but turned back after just a mile, between my cold and the cold weather.
we had a small party with some of my favorite goodies (olives, chips, nuts), and for once i was able to indulge guilt-free - i needed to put some weight back on! that hadn't happened for over 40 years, when a romantic break-up sent me down to 92 lbs. back to where i want to be this a.m., 102.4.
and that is the end of 2012 - wishing all health and happiness in 2013!
