Three days of walking over 5 miles a day; cals at high end of range, but hey, that much walking makes me a bit hungry. So doing well over all.

That number on the scale is way higher than i like. Exercise is consistent, and I've been doing really well with not emotional/binge eating. I hope it's water weight. I drank a ton of water today in the hope of seeing a lower number tomorrow. I've been holding steady for 3 days,

Good morning! A sledding party sounds like loads of fun. I learned to ski last year and am afraid I'll have forgotten all I learned. There are easier ways to play in the snow! Also ones that don't require getting up at 5 am! In spite of sodium, I'm able to post a loss for this week, so I think I should start 2013 on the right foot. Is anyone thinking of resolutions? I may start the year with a "Use What You've Got" grocery moratorium. I love to shop for food, so every once in a while, it does me good to make myself use what is on hand. I make allowance for perishables (milk and vegis) but otherwise keep to what's on hand.
Visiting family in Texas. Overate yesterday and no exercise. Went down to track this morning. Hope this is the start of a maintainance compliance day. Have a Sparkling day!

Yesterday food and water were good. No plans for celebrating so hope to have a "healthy" week.

I'm baking bread and making a pot of chicken barley soup with last nights leftover chicken. Now that I've got a food scale I can weigh my homemade bread and not eat so much of it.

Good Morning everyone! We are still in Christmas mode. We will be hosting an open house for the 12th day of Christmas to close the Christmas season. I also plan on having Company on New Years Day. So far so good on my month+ of little to no tracking. I have gained 5 pounds which is on the high side of what I allowed myself. So all in all I am content.
Right now it is snowing and we are supposed to get a small accumulation before it turns to rain this afternoon. Have a great weekend!

Have the muchkin with me until about noon, (she spent the yesterday and night with us). Love having a 5 yr old around.
Today, I am starting to gather many Christmas decorations and put away, not the tree but the stuff in every room, it is such a job and so much more fun taking everything out.
Will work on "me" project with exercise planning, what I hope to accompish in 2013 etc.

Scale is up by .4 from yesterday...not too bad considering the salt from last night's pizza :) I have a sledding party planned with my kids at my boyfriend's house. The weather looks like it's going to be nice for it, and I'm as excited as a little kid about it- (for the last three days since I cooked up the idea). I want to try to pick up some snow pants before we head out for myself (I haven't had any in years...I was too big to easily find them, so I never invested in them...just wore layers of sweat pants/long underwear). I even have sugar-free, fat-free cocoa for myself later :) I have really missed hot cocoa over the last few years...I've only had it about twice during that time- and it was only a sip of two from someone else :)
I'm excited about celebrating my first New Year in 20 years at a healthy, normal weight! Have a great Saturday, everyone!

good morning fellow sparkers. today the last of our guests leave, my brother and my 97 y o dad fly home to new york. we will be leaving at the crack of dawn to get them to the local airport. fourth trip this week... hoping the snow will hold off until we get home.
my granddaughter was here with her parents (a minor miracle, considering that we have no idea if the marriage will hold), and she managed to leave many of us with a cold or worse. my son (mari's uncle) has a tendency for pneumonia and he is scheduled to fly home to north carolina today; DH (an MD) is worried and does not want him to fly. i have the worst cold i've had in ages (we live so isolated, can't remember the last time i was ill), and my brother is already on the way to recovery. DH for once was hit mildly, as was DD. and the miracle of all - my dad seems to have escaped completely. fingers crossed that it will hold.
the other miracles is that despite all the company, the food, the restaurant meals - i have managed to lose weight this week. base weight is about the minimum it's been on this journey. we have managed to keep up exercise as much as possible, mainly walking, have not run for a good long time now, between the snow, the company, and the cold.
looking forward to a short break before the excitement of 2013...

I slept for a bit over 7 hours according to my new fitbit last night, and looking forward to my classes at the gym this morning. My knee is healed enough that I'm going to do yoga! Hooray!
My brother and his family left New York yesterday and got home to Pittsburgh safely, so all of my parents' company is gone, so they're getting back to normal.
Food yesterday was back on target, and I'm down a pound (probably because I'm not eating all that sodium!

I'm looking forward to having 2012 over with, but at the same time, the events that took place in 2012 helped me get to where I am today. There were some really tough times, but there were also some really good times which have have made me who I am today. I'm looking forward to a New Year and making it the best that I can.

Good morning Team mates! Nice reflections on 2012, Tortise, and your positive thoughts about new year are inspiring. I will often reflect over the past year and then consider the pathway I have had and how the twists and turns have shaped me into the person I am today. I'm grateful to have finally found an eating plan that works for my body and to be maintaining the weight loss and feeling healthy. I've planned a productive day today with healthy eating and "household chore" exercise.

Hi Friends, good morning!
Sitting in the dark, sipping a coffee and realizing 2012 is really winding down. I've had a full one with two sons getting married, a new grandchild on the way, two more coming to us by marriage. And then there is the lifestyle change and weight loss that is making me more engaged with my family, friends and work. We've traveled for the weddings and for work. Highlights were Antigua and a trip to London-- firsts.
I'm hoping to have a bit calmer year ahead, but I'm feeling optimistic that life is a feast waiting to be lived with or without big events. We never know when difficulties will present themselves either, but for this morning I am savoring the goodness in full out living. Which for now includes my second cup of coffee!
