Sorry I've been MIA, but my priorities when the pups are sleeping are:
1. Walk my usual minimum 5 miles 2. Work at least 7.5 hours 3. Go to the store 4. Take shower and get washed up 5. Grab some food or take a piss
I'm basically on my own here because Bill is having a hard time with alcohol at the moment. Support appreciated, but I'm keeping positive most of the time.

I got to sleep in a bit this morning. I'm taking the day off because I decided that there was no way I was going to get off work at 3:30 and find parking at a busy mall in time for a 4:00 appointment! Instead I'm taking my Mom to her foot-care appointment, then out to brunch. The rest of the day will be just for me, with the plan to find parking and window shop for an hour or so before my haircut. I'm still deflating from the huge gain this week. I'm hoping to get back to normal so that I'm not out of the maintenance challenge before it starts! Time to hit the road!

good morning friends - one last partial day of "rest" before four NON-STOP days of working and church functions and services and family. Oh, how I look forward to Christmas Eve. By the time the last service is over and I get home (around 7:30-8PM), I will be more than ready to sit in my jammies with a cup or three of hot tea and a much deserved Silent Night. Praying you all enjoy the most blessed of Christmases with your families and friends.

Good morning from mid Vancouver Island.
We had 6 inches of heavy wet snow over 2 days and now it's raining and it's a horrid mess and hard to walk the dogs in. The border collie doesn't mind as she has long skinny legs and bounds through anything with ease, but my old chunky australian shepherd takes forever to get from A to B and does flops in between to roll about and kick his legs in the snow.. he's really funny..
I have my "indoor" bike which I've grown to love especially when I can't get a long walk in.. I love my yoga now too...
Everyone sounds pretty good..

Glad you got a diagnosis! I know that sometimes it's hard to pinpoint those kinds of problems.
I will warn you about anything with hormones, though...a couple of years ago, I was on oral contraceptives to suppress my periods due to severe endometriosis and developed a blood clot in my left knee. Clots are definitely a risk for anyone on hormones, especially if estrogen is involved, so if you get unusual pain in one of your legs that you can't explain, make sure to go to the doc and INSIST on an ultrasound. It saved my life, because who knows what could have happened if my clot ended up in my lung (what killed Heavy D last year), my heart or my brain. As a result of the clot, I'm now on warfarin (generic Coumadin) and was switched to Depo Provera to suppress my periods. Less risk of clots, but more risk of osteoporosis. Good thing that I love running and dairy!
I hope that your treatment resolves the issues that you've had!
I'm going to succeed because I'm crazy enough to think I can!

Hang in there, Michelle. I hope your dr has all the info you need to get thru this next stage of life. We have frost on the rooftops, and are expecting rain this weekend. Cold, clear days are perfect for doing the stairs around campus during the day to get my heart rate up and warm up! Have a fabulous Thursday!

Love to read all the posts about working out in all kinds of weather. It's the last nice day here before the rain hits, and I was just swamped all day yesterday, so I NEED to walk today.
If you haven't already, please view and "Like" JMERLAU's maintenance video. Awesome and inspiring!

Yup, the rain has just hit Atlanta. The sky politely waited until I was inside my office to start pouring. I love days like this! Raindrops on the roof is a pleasant soundtrack.
I've just got to get through today and tomorrow, then I'm off on a whirlwind holiday trip. I'm not worried about lack of exercise since my parents have a treadmill, a bowflex, and a dumbbell set. Plus a high school buddy of mine is going to accompany me on a couple long runs. Nutrition will be ok since our Christmas feast is going to be seafood. Can't wait!

A very snowy start!
After a Dr. appt. yesterday, I need to start thinking about maintenance now. My Dr. strongly thinks I should. I'm only 2 lbs from my goal and I told him I would start after the holidays! He agreed to that. So until then, I will be trying to put a plan together. Have a great day!

Rain here in Eastern Iowa too- but it's cold, so it's icy- switching to all snow eventually. Awake way too early for a snow day (got my call already that school/work is cancelled today) Went to doctor yesterday, and pending the results of the blood panel, I've been diagnosed with premenstrual dysphoric dissorder- brought on most likely by my perimenopause causing my hormone levels to be all over the grid. She's also looking at possible anemia and/or thyroid problem. Potential recommendation for either Prozac or hormone therapy- I'm choosing the hormone therapy for now- assuming that diagnosis remains consistent after the blood panel is reviewed over the next few days. Haven't been on the scale yet...still haven't really crawled out of bed :)

Good morning! Sounds like everyone is walking in the rain today. It is too dark outside here to know if it's raining here, but I'll be thinking of all of you.
I fell in love once walking in the rain so I'm pretty high on rain walking in general! LOL
Our car is loaded with grandkid holiday gifts that we are delivering in Boston in a day! Then we keep driving and pick up my youngest son from college (we have quite an age range in our children). So all in all a great trip. Can't wait to see grandkids; can't wait to see my son.
Weight down below goal as I head into the holiday weekend. Nice (-:

Good morning everyone!
Maree, you and I must be in the same neck of the woods, because there is MAJOR raining happening here in Memphis as well, though I haven't heard any thunder yet...
I REACHED MY WEIGHT GOAL FOR MY TRIP! I weighed myself and I was 160.2 pounds today. OK, so I'm 0.2 pounds over, but I'll take it. :) My dad got home from Bangladesh last night, so I was able to talk to him on the phone, and it was GREAT. I have one last thing I have to do for the auditor from hell at work, then I'm rid of her. Good thing: I start my vacation tomorrow! A week and a half of peaceful bliss before the storm REALLY starts!
Well, I'd better get going...got a run planned at the gym this morning, then step and Zumba tonight. Have a TERRIFIC Thursday, everyone!
Ate in my happy range (1450ish cals) and walked over 6 miles. This makes for a great day for me!

Good morning!! I woke up way too early to a thunder storm. My scheduled workout today is a long walk with a workout buddy and my puppy dogs so I'm hoping for a break in the rain by 5:15 when we head out.
Scale is hovering at range. Yesterday I ate more carbs and sweets than I should have, so will try to make up for it today.
Christmas shopping went okay last night and somehow it will get done.
Happy Thursday maintainers!
