Another busy day at work. A coworker had a sick kid so we were down a third of our workforce! Add to that that we've added another full-time person's work to ours...no problem, right?
Tonight for dinner I tried a recipe for bobotie (South African meat pie) that I got from a coworker. She'd bring leftovers for lunch and they smelled so good I wanted to try it. It turned out really well and stretched a pound of ground beef to 8 servings, besides!
Barb, you and your family are in my thoughts. Dealing with aging parents is hard. Know that a lot of us are going though the same stuff, so we understand. We're happy to "listen".

Prayers and hugs of light to those with painful issues to deal with...
I gave in to the kids last night. They asked for cinnamon rolls and I think they pair so well with the chili that I made for supper so I gave in and made a special trip to the supermarket.
The problem occurred when I ate the last cinnamon roll this morning. I rationalized it by telling myself that if I was going to have something sweet, morning is the best time to indulge. About 15 minutes after I ate it I REALLY regretted it. Mind-stamping that feeling so that I remember it next time I think it's a good idea. It didn't even taste that good. Not as good as last night paired with the deliciously healthy chili that I made and not as good as my banana and Wheaties would have tasted had I been on track.
So for lunch today... super foods: salmon, avocado, sweet red pepper, and clementines. AND back to tracking my meals with enthusiasm. This time of year is busy but not too busy to take care of my body and relish this journey. I've also slacked on exercise and tracking my exercise. My body aches but not from exercise... from lack of exercise and too much stress. Yoga before bed isn't enough and I'm feeling it.

Quick check-in... I seem so busy this week after being sick!
Food is okay... can't seem to get the water in for some reason.
Two straight days back to working out, short ones, but something. Hope to do a longer one tonight.
Trying to avoid the barrage of cookies and food that gets dumped in our office by suppliers and subcontractors.

Good morning all - REALLY.... it's not often that I can get a slow(er) start to the day, and everything within me is urging me to get moving faster and faster, but today may be the last chance I have to move at less than a break neck speed until Christmas Day, so I'm trying to resist and just pace myself. Barb, so sorry to hear about your Dad. I'm praying for him, your mom, you and your whole family - may God bless you all with an extra measure of His strength and peace during these holidays. CONGRATS - CATMAGNET on your Spark Motivator award.....you deserve it! So thankful to you all about helping me learn to navigate through these holidays. Last night was our womens group gathering. Was over in my nutrition, but, not as bad as I could have been and much of what I was over on was at least comparitively healthy....cheese vs sweets, Tonight I will meet up with my running buddy for 5-6 miles (in sub freezing weather) so as long as I keep my focus and stay on track today, the week will balance out. My goal was not to worry about losing during the holidays, but to enjoy then without gaining. So far, so good - I owe you all BIG TIME!!!

Barb - praying for your dad, you and your family. It is really hard when our parents have health issues.
Weight is staying pretty consistent and I am feeling like I am getting more of a handle on maintenance. For those afraid to eat more who maybe undereating, my weight does seem to go down and stay more consistent with increased calories (though it is a little scary adding in).

Aw, Barb, I'm sorry about your dad. Thinking of you today.
Jane--- AWESOME!! You really do deserve to me a Motivator because you motivate ME by your dedication to your new lifestyle.
Dealing with a little stress today. My coworker is really going over the top for our Holiday party. She's scheduled a gift exchange, a potluck lunch, and a heavy dinner at a 5-star restaurant all happening on Friday. I'd really love to skip it all.... BAH HUMBUG

Barb, sending lots of prayers and purrs your way for you and your dad.
This has been a crazy 24 hours! Had some issues with the computer servers at work, but was still able to get some MAJOR stuff done with Medicare for the 4 hospitals I work with, so I was relieved that I was still able to make my deadline.
This morning, I weighed in at 161.8, so I'm happy with that. We'll see what the next week and a half brings before I leave for New York. I ran 6.2 miles this morning in a little shy of an hour, and plan on going to a spin class this afternoon.
Also finally got my caliper measurements done last night. I lost 2.1% body fat this month, so I'm down to 32.1% body fat now! My goal is in sight...
And last but not least, I was voted as a Spark People Motivator last night! HOLY COW! If any of you had anything to do with this, THANK YOU. I feel very honored, when all I'm doing is just telling my story.
Good morning, all! Still a smidgeon below goal:) Did my ST at the Y yesterday after work, but I couldn't wait til it was over- didn't get ambitious and get on the elliptical like I do some days. I just wanted to get done and get on with my day(evening). Super hungry after my work out though...craving the carbs big-time! Today is a rest day- or possibly a nice walk in the woods this evening- deer season here though, so I better wear my orange :)

Good morning! Barb, thinking about you and your family.
Had a very productive day at home and at the office yesterday. Going to try to do it again. Didn't get up and get on the treadmill this morning so I will have to this evening. Going to try a new spark recipe for dinner, so maybe I'll get a food blog posted tonight. Everyone have a great day.

Barb, praying for strength for all your family to help your dad.
Making time to check in on my usual boards, while running a puppy daycare in my office. Weight's holding steady, I'm getting in my walks and ST no matter what, and the funny thing is, I've lost interest in food! I'm only stoking the furnace because I'm supposed to.

Sorry to hear about your dad, Barb. It's really tough to watch our parents age and become frail. {Hugs}
Good day yesterday for me, and I finally got back down to the smaller size pants after last month's blip on the scale. However, whaddaya think? Will the world end tomorrow? Should I just throw caution to the wind and "eat like there's no tomorrow"?

Have done good the past several days of staying with my plan. I've been writing a statement each day of why I want to follow the plan set for that day. Also, once in a while DH offers a cookie to me because he know it helps build my determination to actually say "no" to him.
We're dealing with concerns about my Dad for the past month. His energy level has really dropped. It tires him just to get dressed. This morning he maybe having a cauterization done. Wishing I could be there with him and Mom. Prayers are appreciated.

and good morning from the west coast. lots of loose threads to tie up today before heading over the mountains to seattle for a couple of days of errands before picking up my brother and dad and bringing them back for the holidays.
yesterday was a 5-mile stress busting run; good way to work off steam when clients get annoying. leftovers made nutrition easy.
not sure how much exercise i'll be able to get for the next three days, or nutrition with restaurants, but at least i'm starting off at a good weight!
have a great day!

Good morning! Up early for a nice day. Work out, massage and a holiday lunch with friends. Gotta check my holiday list though and get some other things done.
