Gosh, CatMagnet, you're brave...jumping back into dating when your face is still healing! Good luck, it's tough, but hey--I met my beloved online...after telling a friend, "I know I'm not going to meet the love of my life this way." I went into it with only the goal of getting out of the house and meeting new people. In two dates we decided that "dating around" was overrated. We got married 5 months later. Don't do that. It's crazy.

Nice long walk in the evening when we arrived in a new place; made good food choices; jeans still fit well. All in all a good day!

Today has been a good day. I ran 10k this morning on the track at the gym, then did some strength training. That means that I can get my grocery shopping done and packet pick-up for the Ugly Sweater run done after work. Hooray! Going to try a new recipe this weekend that I'm really looking forward to, so I'm excited.
My face is looking a LOT better with a lot of new pink skin and some yellowing bruises, and the knee is showing some pink skin around the edges, so I'm definitely healing well. Unfortunately, the guy at the gym that does my fat measurements couldn't be bothered with helping me out yesterday, which definitely ticked me off...to the tune of me doing two group exercises classes to burn off that angry energy: step and Zumba. Didn't burn off enough of it, and was up until 11PM. 5 hours of sleep last night. UGH.
I've also decided that it's time to get back into the dating world in earnest, and although I meet interesting men in my everyday life (helps that I'm a cute, outgoing, intelligent woman...but trying to get my ego back into check! lol), I decided to take the plunge and join Match.com again. I couldn't believe the feedback: IMMEDIATELY, I got 5 emails from various men, most of them in my area! WOW! I never had that high a response before, so it felt a bit gratifying, though at the same time a bit disheartening, because I knew it was because of the packaging and NOT the contents. Sad, but true fact that we live in such a superficial world. Guess I'm going to have to learn how to survive the dating world now without all that extra "armor" protecting me. Should be interesting.
SWEDE_SU-I hate it too...the thought of the smell of whiskey makes me want to gag :)
Down .7 today. That always makes me smile :) Was awake like-7 times in the night- getting up to pee- geez. I'm glad it's Friday:) Stayed on target yesterday, and I have ST@Y planned for after work today. Hoping to get some holiday baking done over the weekend. We'll see. My son is performing in a Christmas orchestral concert in the Mall tomorrow afternoon- 40 min drive, and I'd like to see it.

I'm ending this week a lot better than I started it. The last couple of days I've stayed with my eating plan and the couple of pounds I put on from a cookie binge have come off. I keep reminding myself that all of that sugar stuff just does not set well with my system anymore.
We have a concert today with an adult choir we're involved in. Then tomorrow night DH and I will go to a performance of the Nutcracker Suite by a local dance studio. It should be good. I know all of the music but have never seen the ballet before.

A leisurely start to the day. I have the day off just for me! I plan to do some housework, some cooking, some music practice, some shopping and some sewing. The weather looks fairly unpleasant, so that'll keep me more inclined to the home based activities. Weight still on the downward trend. Take care, all!

I'm down to 110 this morning.. another pound lost this week. I'm sure I'll be back up next week though as I've had a tired week and yesterday had severe esophageal spasms and ended up going to emerg to get some help. I'm better today, but think I got a bit dehydrated yesterday, thus the weight loss.

Hi all. Checking in after a few weeks of only spotty accountability. The scale has been zigzagging up and down, but this morning I was at 132.5 just half a pound over the top of my range. Phew! Getting back on track. Put myself on a strict regime for the next two weeks; trying to outsmart the holiday saboteurs.
I had been doing an exercise-every-day-between-thanksgiving-and-christmas challenge, but I hurt my back a couple days ago. So I've given myself a few rest days. Going to get back to the running today, though, with a long slow run.

Morning Team!
Weight was way down this morning, but I know it's just dehydration from being so sick yesterday. Feeling 110% better this morning, just a little weak. DH and I will be playing poker tonight and tomorrow night. I've been doing really great keeping my beer drinking in check on poker night.

Good morning and welcome weekend!!!
Today is my baby girl's 9th birthday. Time really goes by fast. I love that song, "You're Gonna Miss This". (I can't remember who sings it. It's country/western.) And, I am gonna miss this. I know I will.
Last night the two of us made the most delicious cupcakes. Chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes... oh my goodness. Heavenly. I actually haven't had a cupcake yet but I tasted all of the parts... the cookie dough cupcake, the cookie dough filling, and the cookie dough frosting. The recipe in total called for 5 1/2 sticks of butter, 2 1/2 cups of brown sugar, and over a cup of powdered sugar... completely unhealthy and completely delicious. We made them for her to take to her classmates and teachers at school. Mine is waiting for me at home. I'm indulging tonight. Before anyone shames me, moderation and balance brings me joy in this life and it is my goal to achieve balance through moderation. Have a happy weekend everyone!

Ate out Wed for lunch, last night with hubby, tonight with MIL for her birthday, tomorrow with daughter, kids and MIL for her birthday again. AARGH! I will be eating out all the time on the vacay for 10 days. I see danger written all over this!

Still on track with December goals. Did not do cardio yesterday, because I had done it several days in a row, so I had a good ST session. The scale is looking better, but I am still in the larger size of pants (I go back and forth between two sizes with just a small difference in weight).

Aaaah, a sauna sounds so nice, Sue! Hot tub is one thing, but there's just something incredible about going for a swim and sitting in a sauna after.
The dreaded meatheads are what keep me away from gyms!
So much butter, so little vedge! I like your plan for antipasto, Tortoise. Roasted veggies are the BEST!
Now that we're off wheat, Bill has been experimenting like crazy with dinner options. Last night we had pureed yellow squash with onions and cayenne; sauteed sea scallops; and garlic-sauteed spinach, along with a salad.

Good Morning Team,
Feeling a lot better today. Didn't go over calorie range and got in a treadmill workout last night. I'm going to aim for going to the gym before dinner. Last Friday the weight room was almost empty.. which is my favorite time to ST. Less meatheads to get in my way!
Have a great day everyone :):)

Good morning, Maintainers. I slept well last night and have a cooking plan today. I'm making an antipasto plate for a party this weekend and decided to roast a bunch of veggies along with some of the more traditional stuff (salami, cheese, pickled veggies, olives). It's my way of taking care of my interests while hanging out with my neighbors. Fortunately the woman planning it is my fitness buddy, so she's got the protein covered!
I don't know how you feel, but the holidays in some ways focus me more on staying healthy. So many opportunities to make healthy choices while facing so many foods made with butter!! LOL
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning! Busy, busy, busy day off yesterday. Procedure for my sis in the morning, then a couple of hours to do chores, ultrasound for me in the afternoon and then a 5.5 mile run in the evening followed by 3 hours of lighting practice...a bit tired this morning, but have work from 7-4 today and then a workout at home, a 1 mile run at incline and early (sure, right) tonight. Good news is that the weight is almost back to middle of range and Sunday is long run day. Should be my first run in the snow.

Weights before work this morning. Not weighing in today - I'll take care of that tomorrow. Stay healthy everyone, Pat

Good morning! Sounds very interestingSue! One stressful event behind me; one more to go--next Tuesday. Weight up today, not sure why. It's kind of discouraging when you stay on track but see a gain. But weighing in keeps me resolved as I just can't let down my guard or indulge. So this is a good reminder going into the weekend. Last year I didn't weigh frequently enough and consequently the "creep" snuck in. Not this year!! Hope all have a great day!

good morning! yesterday the fitbit arrived in the late afternoon, so a new toy, new numbers - in just a few short hours almost 3000 steps and 7 floors climbed - yikes! meanwhile, we took a 5.3 mile walk, and enjoyed leftover split pea soup for lunch, and spaghetti with tempeh in the sauce (bottled porcini pasta sauce, quite good, but probably really salty since weight was up a fair amount). we took a sauna before dinner, nice and relaxing.
a weekend of work awaits - and whisky is the word, a swedish whiskey company's earnings report is on the agenda - and yes, i did have the opportunity to tour the facility last spring, but i hate whiskey and took a tour of the town's prison museum (!) instead! both choices were part of a conference we went to in april:-)
have a great day!
